This is the example of dirty farang. Just wear the fking mask. Nobody care if wearing mask makes you harder to breath or uncomfortable. Sure, mask is not 100% perfect, but not 100% useless either. You need to re-educate yourself if you really believe it's totally useless. Wearing mask helps people around you from getting sick and vice versa.
You are absolutely right a lot of people here need to be re-educated what a lot of stupidity many write here. Everyone should wear a mask and will do If they are intelligent

Well said.
No, it is not ludicrous it I the only sensible ting to do, when there are still people like you out there who doesn’t care. If two people without mask and, and one infected, the infected one cough the other person has it too. Coronavirus infects others with tiny droplets. The mask can prevent that if both are wearing a mask.

He doesn't and apparently he doesn't care. Sad we have people like him among us.

Sunday, March 29th, another day when we wake up to an unbearable stench of smoke and what it contains. The smoke has penetrated into the house where I live, I suffer from COPD, a severe lung disease. I'm less nervous about Covid-19 than I am about the smoke, because the latter will eventually kill me. But it's not just me, many who breathe in the sometimes-toxic smoke will eventually develop lung disease. Thailand has a law against burning, but I am amazed that the country apparently has no one to enforce the law. So while Thailand fear Covid-19, the farmers and others continue to burn merrily, although burning can end up killing many more people than covid-19 will ever do.

Changes: about 10% of people are wearing a mask. Tesco checks your temperature. 7/11 employees are wearing masks&gloves. That's it!
All shops are open. All business are open. Everything is open. People are going about their normal everyday life. Streets are full. It's only when I check ThaiVisa people are barricading themselves in the houses, raiding food stores and preparing for the end of the world. ????????????
where I go 90 % are wearing a mask, some shops have a sign outside reading: No Mask - No Entry.

No, they are not mad but when they stop you they would like to protect themselves which is understandable.

What are the numbers of those tested thus far? Is there a source for this figure? We constantly see numbers for positive cases of CV but not for numbers tested.
827 so far but it's only the tested. Maybe like in Europe where they say if we have 1000 tested positive then we might have 10.000 light cases not testet. No one knows how many infected there are in Thailand.

So if they are stupid i should be stupid too? no thanks. I'm only wearing one if i get symptoms
You are a guest in this country, perhaps you should try to act like it, not to wear a face mask in this situation show the thai people how little you care. It harms all other farangs.

There are still too many foreigners, residents or tourists shopping without face mask. It is ruthless to other people, especially disrespectful to the local people who protect themselves with masks. We are guests in Thailand let's behave as respectful guests.

The authorities need to apply the same regimes that are present in BKK across the whole country
You are absolutely right if they don't the close down in BKK will not help at all.

Not enough one month please, and then evaluate the situation

It will stop some infected but not all, according to World Health organization: “Most estimates of the incubation period for COVID-19 range from 1-14 days, most commonly around five days.”
Here we talk about 72 hours, (3 days) many can still be infected but not yet show it.
The only way to stop spreading the virus is a complete shut down all over Thailand (all over the world for that matter) for 3 to 4 weeks, where all people stay home and they are only allowed to go and buy food and medicine, and in these cases wearing a face mask should be compulsory. The only people allowed to work should be doctors’ nurses etc. and also people working in food industry and pharma industry. Then you might stop it, but a lot of small actions have little effect in stopping the virus.
Also it should be a crime to export face mask when there clearly isn't enough here

This is a reprint of a 6 - 8 month old article

Do we all know that?
I think we can agree that in the moment a lot more people die because of traffic accidents - especially in Thailand.
But that's the situation now.
Who knows how that situation will change and when it will change and where it will change?
It seems the virus spreads pretty fast if it, and the people who transport it, are not restricted.
So I guess at some moment people and governments make the decision to restrict travel and contact with others.
At what point that happens and when it should happen is something to argue about.
Should we wait first for the first cases in the country, city, neighborhood? Or better be careful too early?
And if fewer people go out and work and fewer people go shopping and to restaurants and fewer people go on holiday then that obviously is bad for business.
If is out of proportion? Maybe. But do you really want to wait until it is soo bad that you think: Someone should have done something earlier in time?
you are absolutely right it spreads very fast

but we know these masks are of little use unless you have the virus
No, they are not, if you are nearby a person there have the virus and that person sneeze, a surgeon mask will help protect you. But you cannot use the same mask several times.

I would assume that Thailand has closed down for Chinese tourist as long as the corona crisis exist in this high level in China.

I’m not sure what part of HH you guys live in but we get occasional hazy skies this time of year. Rest of the time there’s a pleasant sea breeze and blue skies. Too much negativity with some of you—if you’re looking for bad air try Bangkok or Beijing.
"Too much negativity". Absolutely not, just stating facts. Not much difference in air quality between BKK and HH, there have even been days where the air in BKK was cleaner than HH.

Hua Hin 25th of February 2020, 7 o’clock in the morning. Do you see the mountains clearly today? No, Unfortunately, you do not, because Aqi shows 167. Once again a day with filthy air, what is happening to Hua Hin there once had clean air. To those of you with COPD, you should protect your lungs and wear a mask.

I don't trust those apps 100%, there is a strong breeze everyday at the moment so I can't believe the air is too bad here. I used to have to use a ventolin inhaler in the UK, never touched it whilst living here!
It was in both Cha-Am and Hua Hin this morning about 175
If you don't trust the apps just look at the mountains, this morning you could easy see how dirty the air is. Properly from burning, it goes a little down in the afternoon but raise again during the night. The morning air is here very unhealthy.

I think 45 meter is print error.
For International flight it should be about 60-meter-wide and 3,7 km long.
As I understand it Hua Hins runway at the present is 35-meter-wide and 2,1 km. long so adding 45 meters makes it 2,145 km long.

The European tourist will return when Thai Bahts come down to normal rate, and when the Thais get control with all the burnings so they came breathe clean air. Times have changed.

A combination of a high baht and dirty air.

Yes, deposit for 30 amp meter = 12,000 and deposit for 15 amp = 6000 Bahts. I don't know how much deposit they pay for 5 amp.
Can have been cheaper years back.
