    I've learned in the last few days that Honolulu's second city, Kakaako requires a ten foot rise replacing 4 feet. 1 meter to 3 meters approx. building code above the sea level.established buildings will have to reinforce sea walls then retreat! In 200 to 1000 yrs.according to nasa the east antarctic ice sheet will affect.. they can detect the ice moving a centimeter, I hope we have such a good long time..

    Holland plans to give some land back to the Ocean..

    the building materials should be getting cheaper...Aloha

    Vendors terms are you pay a deposit and I finance the rest. You can take possession of the apartment whilst paying for it. It is a legal way to buy and sell with out banks involved.

    Americans call it an agreement or sale, trust deed, or purchase money mortgage, takes possession as financed.

    Don't agree with all this future scare posts. Having lived in Thailand for 23 years, I have seen several coups and corrupt politicians come and go. The actual situation is far better than the times when wannabe Fuhrer Suthep and his sheeple were terrorising the country. Many corrupt and rotten apples in politics, police, etc. have been sacked, and curfew also has been eased today. I see a much better future on the horizon for Thailand now and I believe there is no reason for not travelling around Thailand at all.

    However, if you feel uncertain and unsecure, then all I can say is: Laos rocks! People there are very nice, great food, beautiful scenery, etc. - make sure you visit Luang Prabang and go to the big waterfall, but please don't forget to come back to Thailand, because the country can't afford many more spoiled seasons. We need stability and I believe this is exactly what Gen. Prayut and his "team" is trying to establish now. The nay sayers and scared ones are most certainly not even long term expats who have been living here long enough to know what they are talking about.

    Its true that the Solar Wind is causing weather..(new study) .. we knew this before, but not is shown to be more affecting and in a high cycle.

    The building code in Honolulu required 4 foot rise above ground level near ocean, now must be 10. that's +6..

    existing structures such as Waikiki must defend their position, lol .. then retreat from rising Sea Level.. Tidal Wave inundation zone has been expanded..

    I have three acres in Hawaii that cost like Brazil or Paraguay..I like the point on security for one's wife and children why own land? Many reasons..but hard to do in Asia..I like the law quote.. 40 million baht, that's a lot of money..And no, someone with $500,000 would not drive a Rolls, except to be seen..
