  1. Ungraphted trees can bear, I have many, some bear after 15 years!

Better to find someone to teach You how to graft..I'm a failure at it.

Just attach the flowering branch to rootstock..with a perfectly sharp knife!

Nitrogen is important in growing stage..20-10-10..never heard of 46-*-*.

Plenty avoes in Hawaii..I think Hass is a trade name of Calavo..we call them by names of gardeners'. Japanese in our case. The dry ones are the prize..nutty?

We cut down a 10 meter tree and 5 sprouts came out..

Time to graft some sions onto those. I think?

Don't overdo the fertilizer..water is good..

    Great posts..!

    Aloha

  2. We were driven by an expert local hostess..i couldn't try to drive the mean streets..(Chiang Mai).

    Being from Hawaii..>hint<.

What I wanted to say was Green Lake Hotel in C.Mai is great if needing a place. 1000THB per nite.

    Takin' the Bus..

Thanks for all the great tips..

    Aloha

  3. As I scan down to reply, more ideas are expressed.

McDonald's doesn't use styrofoam anymore, at least in Hawaii..

Same on mainland, U.S.?? Cardboard is used. (don't eat there)

When I came to Hawaii, the locals used to leave six packs of beer bottles by the road, and walking I'd see MacDonald's styro containers and candy and popsicle wrappers on the ground.

Plenty sugar, and the junk from the mainland.

Learning to handle all this commercial trash takes time..

Asians are good at it..give 'em time. I'm still learning to recycle.

    Is styrofoam toxic?

    Thanks

  4. Getting bit out here..no time to read all these great posts..

They enjoy the garden hose..quack..baby pool w fresh water..small basin in cage ok..but my neighbor gave two ducks to neighborhood coffee farm where they run wild..they are so cute, I recognized them instantly.

They love chicken feed..dsily..for an egg each, every day. That's why couples are nice, or more. They also like lettuce, read and...chicken bones..childrens do also..go figure..dod I say how cute they are..

    Good luck..

    cannot correct typos..windows phone..go figure!

    Aloha

  5. BBC last night: Cement in concrete, made by heating to 2700 degrees f.

One ton of cement manufacturing emits 1 ton of CO2.

40 billion tons of cement was used last year..40 bil. tons CO2!!!

Sorry about Obama's jet..sorry about all the bottles left in N.Y.

    Sorry bout DiCaprio'a jet etc.

Also from BBC, half of the CO2 in the atmosphere was deposited since 1986.

Hottest month ever in 100+ years was last month.

    Do you believe all this..?

    I do...

  6. I had a healthcare experience in LOS with a lot of hospital visits for my Ladyfriend..

She got the resident price with a retirement visa.

Palliative care is better home than nursing home.

Easy to afford a caregiver in Thailand.

We couldn't get morphine, but xanax was enough, and she had trammadol, which she called zombie pills.Capsules, actually. The more one takes, the quicker the end.(She quit taking them after I arrived)

I argued with the head nurse about certain procedures. Most spoke good Englisb,or not so good.

    More later..I have internet issues..

    Aloha

  7. Don't diagnose..

Chaing Mai has good broadband..I miss it.

    Wide streets sounds nice..uncrowded..clean air..wherever...

My email from that International mag. online shows me that the reason to 'friend' expats is to

find out how to avoid many mistakes through shared EXperience..this forum is great for that..VR..

But a next door neighbor can sure be a God send.

Aloha, boys..keep up the good work.. girls too..!!
