    This is false information.

While at Bumrungrad Hospital yesterday I inquired about the cost, procedure, waiting time for results.  The cost is 10,000 BHT.

Stop spreading information about which you don't have the facts.

First of all, Bumrungrad is in Bangkok and Bangkok Hospital is in Samui. You may spread this information.

Secondly, I got the 20 00 bt from a widely circulated poster on Thai Visa. That's why I said "I understand" and not stated it as a fact. As you obviously relish the facts, perhaps you can back up your advice by stating as a fact what Bangkok Hospital does in fact charge for the Covid-19 test.

  2. I agree fully with this. I went for 90 day about 2 weeks ago and the queue was about 40 people long - previously about 4 or 5 people. I don't know why the queue moved so slowly as it took me about one and a half hours to get to the desk and less than a minute to get my ticket number. It looked like some people were filling in forms at the ticket desk. Once I had my ticket, the 90 day was done in under 30 minutes.

There was no separate queue for 90 day reports.

Okay, we seem to be at odds over this, so this is worthwhile considering.......

Once someone has applied the alcohol-based hand gel to the hands, it is supposed to kill the virus/germs, and once the alcohol has evaporated, which takes approximately 15 seconds, it is no longer active against the bugs.

So sanitiser on the hands is a once off thing until you touch something else, say 15 seconds later, so moisturiser is not going to make any difference whatsoever, apart from possibly reducing irritation as in the OPs post.

There is mixed evidence (but generally very favourable) on the non-alcohol-based hand sanitisers which often use benzylkonium chloride as the bug killing agent, or indeed triclosan, and there are even some like this that have moisturiser included. There are even some antibacterial wipes which are alcohol free and purport to do the same job.

Anyway, with the amount of people I see walking around the shopping malls here with small bottles of water tucked in their trousers, pouches, small backpacks, then it would be no problem whatsoever to dampen a tissue, or indeed use a non-alcohol/antibacterial wipe – – plenty of choices.

I was under the misapprehension that the purpose of hand sanitisers was to protect one from the Coronavirus and as such, wondered for how long. As explained above, it only lasts for 15 seconds and the purpose is to kill the virus you may already have picked up, not to prevent a new contact. thank you for that information.

I can see a "brown envelope" being bunged at some official to block this idea, sadly.  Quite a few Thai people on the Island had been petitioning the Government for a long time to address this rediculous situation.  It costs less to fly from Bangkok to India than it costs to fly Bangkok to Koh Samui!

Bangkok to Singapore fare half the price to Samui and twice the distance.

The MFA legalizes the Affirmation of freedom to marry, after the British Embassy has stamped it (them). That allows you to go to the local office to do the marriage.

I think you would have to get a recognized translator to do the translation.(s)

We handed the Docs into the British Embassy towards the end of the week, went to Chiang Mai for the weekend, came back on the Monday, took  the docs to MFA, as soon as they finished, jumped in a fast Taxi and got married just before closing time!

16 years ago so things may have changed ????

Can I ask what does one need to get the Affirmation of freedom to marry? especially if one was married and divorced twice.

I might be wrong but I don't believe that this can be accomplished (legally) inside of Thailand.  You can get a 12 month extension (on your original O-A entry) for purposes other than retirement i.e. marriage or Thai family etc but I believe that one must exit Thailand 1st and then start the Non-O process (one way or another either at a foreign embassy/consulate or here in Thailand after entering on a 30 day exempt etc.) in order to actually get a Non-O Visa.

Some say an agent can make it happen for $$$$$$ but I wouldn't go that route.

Yes, I was told by an agent that he can get for me in Thailand for a small fortune.
