  1. i did post that if i was doing it i would drive there myself, and also avoid the 'agents' fee, but without your own vehicle and having to hire a car or car and driver, the costs are starting to rise, car hire, fuel and Cambodian visa would come to 3,000 ish baht plus any back handers that are required, so i think that the link that ubonjoe posted and at 4,000 would not, at this present time for an effortless trip, be too over the top, this is the price that people have to pay to either stay long term in Thailand by repeated visa exempt entries, or to change visa class to something better for them. i in the past used ban pakard/ pong nam ron for reentry stamps for a multi entry non imm 'O' visa, i think then the cost for DIY were under 2,000thb, and a mini bus from Pattaya under 3000thb but i could be wrong
  2. 1st class operate from the queen vic, maybe the poster was confused re five star - http://www.1stclassvisaruns.com/ if i was doing it i would drive myself to pong name ron/ban pakard, someone posted that on the 8th Aug they were charging 2700 at the border, so the 4000thb as posted by ubonjoe seems ok see here for other thread -
  3. ban packard (pakkad) is shown here - https://bit.ly/3Rl9aVx or ban laem ( which is about 30km further north), both are in Chantaburi
  4. really smart. as i bought one in April, after thinking for a while that they might not be reliable ie when the mg3 was about 4 years or so ago
  5. lots of idiots around the world then, 1 million sold outside China in 84 countries, but they are wrong to buy
  6. something wrong there
  7. i agree with your no shirt rule, but not with the shorts rules
  8. RIP, it would be a fresh entry, you cannot extend visas, but i agree bad wording by the reporter
  9. you can only get 1 x 60 day visit wife extension per entry into Thailand not including re-entry permit entries, if your extension expires, you will need a fresh non imm visa to obtain a yearly extension upon return to Thailand
  10. not sure where piper tree and long time are, ( i see piper tree and long time are on the bypass road, but there is '24' and phala rib hous opposite each other on Tesco road, phala closer to the beach
  11. what other way is there.
  12. it's not really immigration that worries about the flight out within 30 days of arrival, but the airline may deny boarding.
  13. I fail to see why the Condo management/operator is to blame, some of the parking may be by some of the condo owners, but what enforcement would they be able legally to perform
  14. doing 3 0r 4 visa exempt entries with 30 day extensions is possible, but no one can guarantee that immigration will allow that many entries, it's a gamble on each entry you attempt
  15. the same thing happened in Malta last year with Canadian cars, and years ago with Uk registered stolen cars. cars were bnot as exotic as the Thai ones. So not that hard to fool customs etc.
  16. been watching too many police thrillers, you think they would cctv camera follow you back to your house
  17. you need travel insurance issued in UK, Thai insurance will be no good, look at big cat insurance can be taken out whilst already travelling as well as before travelling
  18. I don't think extensions have changed still 30 days, only visa exempt has changed to 45 days after the 1st Oct as to ed visa's etc, lots of things done by agents, so maybe they can sort one out, but it will cost, almost as much as a flight to UK
  19. i would have thought a steel reinforced 12cm base would be overkill to park motorbikes, but they could be really big bikes.
  20. converting a visa exempt or tourist visa to a non-immigrant visa would only give you a 90 day permission to stay stamp on issue, not a year
  21. you are doing a 'visa renewal' visas cannot be renewed, what you are doing is an extension of your permission to stay, there have been not changes in requirement for 'married' yearly extensions for a number of years
