  1. some say there is a new makro coming, others say a wet fish market, some say a new tesco's, others say a walking street type market, the truth will reveal its self at sometime
  2. do you have a visa normally issued outside Thailand, or a years extension issued at local immigration office
  3. do a 60 day 'wife' extension, she will need to be you if you have time and the dates work out maybe a re-entry permit to keep the non imm alive, with a return prior to its expiry date
  4. i bought one very comfortable - https://www.lazada.co.th/products/santas-topper-memorelle-3-i106786048-s107807819.html?
  5. will the school minibuses have to have car seats for the under 6's
  6. did the same on mine, no problem with day time or night time use, but had a problem with the easy pass tag and the built in sat nav, its in the garage at the moment they are telling me the film was causing the problem and are having it changed.
  7. malaysia and cathay for one stop as well, direct i would look at scoot, go for the plus seating, which includes food, etc
  8. RIP and a good recovery for the injured, that's 2 nasty crashes in few weeks on the 332 road, one at each end, both close to the 3 road, looking at the damage it doesn't look like a head on crash, hardly any damage to the front of the pick up, hard impact on drivers door and front wing.
  9. should you, in that case be receiving increases
  10. a thought that sometimes occurs to me, Thailand and my wife go hand in hand, it would not be the same without her, both retired we do a lot of things together, day trips, holidays, eating out, beach etc. would i want to be lonely in my home country or in Thailand, the answer is i don't know, but where would be the best place for me, i haven't come to a conclusion, and i hate the thought of having to make that decision, it would be tough but should the time come it would have to be made.
  11. there are no ferries from sattahip to koh chang, see here for bus - https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Pattaya/Ko-Chang-Tai#r/Bus
  12. that's the max new state pension, the old system prior to 6th April 2016 was not fixed and depended on for your personal contributions, serps (State Earnings Related Pension Scheme) and or S2P (State Second Pension) i don't know what the maximum amount achievable was.
  13. tax free allowance is £12,500, and if claiming 10% of wife's allowance makes it £13,875, so, some 'old' state pensions are higher than the new 'fixed' pensions, but if they could be higher than £12.500 i don't think so but always willing to be corrected with links.
  14. what about the class 4 NI contributions (10.25%) they have to pay as well, or are you suggesting they live on the £9,881, which is the figure when the self employed start paying class 4 NI, yes a 2nd wage earner could get a pension after paying a minimum of 10 years NI, @class 2 rates, but a main wage earner could not survive on £9881 a year
  15. it would help if you said what area you are thinking of visiting, but off the top of my head i would think pattaya would have a lot more agents in a smaller area. sim card available in arrivals at the airport, local 7/11 but not AIS, shopping malls, large grocery stores ie Lotus's or big C, or on line lazada or shopee
  16. a friend is in the same boat, but he collected his passport from the agent for his 90 day report, if you gave your passport to an agent then the agent still has your passport, they are not submitted with the paperwork for a renewal, you will need a letter to move your Thai visa from your old passport into your new one at the Immigration Bureau. If you renewed your passport at VFS Bangkok, you will be given a blank letter when you receive your new passport. If you have not been given a copy of this letter, you may send your name and Thai address via web form and the embassy will post a copy to you.
  17. a letter from your embassy is normally required to allow the transfer, ( but surely an agent can sort that) you will need a re-entry permit for the trip out of Thailand to allow re-entry, carry both passports with you.
  18. visas are not transferred to a new passport only any extension of stay stamps,
