Extending 90 day non-O
steve187 replied to Joejoejoejoe's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
do a 60 day 'wife' extension, she will need to be you if you have time and the dates work out maybe a re-entry permit to keep the non imm alive, with a return prior to its expiry date -

a thought that sometimes occurs to me, Thailand and my wife go hand in hand, it would not be the same without her, both retired we do a lot of things together, day trips, holidays, eating out, beach etc. would i want to be lonely in my home country or in Thailand, the answer is i don't know, but where would be the best place for me, i haven't come to a conclusion, and i hate the thought of having to make that decision, it would be tough but should the time come it would have to be made.

British press support UK pensioners losing out in Thailand
steve187 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
that's the max new state pension, the old system prior to 6th April 2016 was not fixed and depended on for your personal contributions, serps (State Earnings Related Pension Scheme) and or S2P (State Second Pension) i don't know what the maximum amount achievable was. -

tax free allowance is £12,500, and if claiming 10% of wife's allowance makes it £13,875, so, some 'old' state pensions are higher than the new 'fixed' pensions, but if they could be higher than £12.500 i don't think so but always willing to be corrected with links. -

what about the class 4 NI contributions (10.25%) they have to pay as well, or are you suggesting they live on the £9,881, which is the figure when the self employed start paying class 4 NI, yes a 2nd wage earner could get a pension after paying a minimum of 10 years NI, @class 2 rates, but a main wage earner could not survive on £9881 a year -

convert 30 days visa exempt to o non "o"

it would help if you said what area you are thinking of visiting, but off the top of my head i would think pattaya would have a lot more agents in a smaller area. sim card available in arrivals at the airport, local 7/11 but not AIS, shopping malls, large grocery stores ie Lotus's or big C, or on line lazada or shopee -
a friend is in the same boat, but he collected his passport from the agent for his 90 day report, if you gave your passport to an agent then the agent still has your passport, they are not submitted with the paperwork for a renewal, you will need a letter to move your Thai visa from your old passport into your new one at the Immigration Bureau. If you renewed your passport at VFS Bangkok, you will be given a blank letter when you receive your new passport. If you have not been given a copy of this letter, you may send your name and Thai address via web form and the embassy will post a copy to you.
