But what about point 5?
Also a snowball in hell....
Point 5 is just being silly. Cheaper booze leads to private parties.

In the last weeks I saw several opportunities especially for people over 70.
He could get vaccinated in Thailand if he wants to and if he follows the news.
I also know a couple of older people who complain they didn't get vaccinated until now. I sent them messages with details where they could register and get vaccinated.
And then when I ask them I get answer like: I only want xyz vaccine and not any other. Or: Maybe another day. Lots of excuses. Don't blame the Thai government when YOU don't take the opportunities which are offered to you.
Unfortunately I can confirm other individuals not taking opportunities that were there. Usual routine of conversation going round in circles and eventually going nowhere.

I would suggest that if you go abroad and decide to purchase a new phone, then leave the Thai bank app on the old phone and keep the old phone at least until you return to Thailand. Only then transfer app to new phone.

Very simply, the landlord wants to increase the rent based upon the perceived increase in value to the property due to your expenditure. Never mind whether this makes sense, what the landlord has signalled to you is that any further spending on your behalf is also going to get the same treatment ie request for further monies at rental agreement time. Therefore there is no further incentive for you to continue improving and maintaining the property to a desired standard. In short, it is time to move.

Spot on. So while we wait, an entertaining combo of continuous undeliverable promises from those in charge plus on the other side deranged anti-vaxxers baying against the moon.

I don't need an annual check-up, I don't need medicine, I just want to register for a vaccine... is that asking too much?
Those who do not have a medical record at a local hospital will find out eventually.

I did go to my local government hospital to register... they said they had no information as to how to register me.
Go and pay for an annual checkup and you will be registered. Take passport.

Retired , staying year out year in on a tourist visa: yes, this will be the advantage on staying in Thailand with the wrong visa. Now people, having a visa, made by some agents, not able to have the correct one with year extension because not fulfilling the immigration financial rules, now they will complain and blame Thailand again and again. Get the write visa and and do what you have to do.
The only thing of relevance re hospital registration will be whether one's visa is current or expired.

GREAT! Just no more flip flops please, ah we have heard this "one" before! Got excited, were grateful, then flip flop after flip flop. Any chance this GREAT NEWS includes Astra Zeneca jabs!???
The China offer to vaccinate nationals in Thailand is the pulling factor for other foreigners IMHO.

Public hospitals?
Private hospitals?
Both?
All hospitals?
Have the hospitals been informed?
Note the requirement if using passport that the hospital have your medical records.
What if they don't?
I think in this case medical records means that the institution has some record of prior treatment there and therefore has on their system your passport id and address.

The maskless ones have now migrated to the cafes where they will be more than happy to vapour their arguments all over you if you care to engage.

I am from the USA. The examples that I have are Medicare. Medicare has more fraud each year than the combined profits of all the private healthcare insurance companies combined each year. The other example is the V.A. which has made the news for decades for poor service and dying patients.
Now your experience may be good but that says nothing about its expense and no way to determine if the private system competed against it that the quality of healthcare would be as good or better and the cost lower
There is nothing, absolutely nothing the government runs efficiently. They have zero incentive to provide cost effective services.
With the private system, I get to choose my doctor, I get to choose my hospital, I get to choose which drugs to take and if I don't like my current selection, I get to change them. With government run programs I can only receive what they allow. In your instance that may be very good but it says nothing about at what cost.
If I am a government and don't care about the expense I can certainly provide world class care. My fiance is from Norway which has "free" healthcare The government confiscates so much of company profits that a Big Mac, small french fries and a medium soft drink cost upwards of $17 USD or about 22 AUS. They tack on a 25% VAT to each and every purchase. So good "maybe" expensive absolutely.
Personally, I prefer choice. I see how the USA runs the postal service - bankrupt, Amtrak rail - bankrupt. social security retirement - bankrupt, Dept. of Education - US test scores declining, V.A - bankrupt and lousy service
I have not delusions that some bureaucrat will have my best interest at heart. They care not about what something costs, nor about its quality of the service they provide. One of those two will always not be a priority. The government will spend far more than necessary or it will provide lousy service.Do we really want this thread hijacked by Trumpers on a mission?

I still remember the Hollerith code and how to correct mispunched cards by wetting your finger and inserting chads back into the holes.
After shuffling them of course.

I don't know when the OP was last in Thailand or where in Thailand he is considering moving to, but things have changed substantially since the pandemic started. Moving to Thailand on a more permanent basis might be postponed to the visit after next. Outside of Bangkok its all quite different.

Given the current situation re Covid which has developed since the beginning of the year, I would offer a 3 month reduction in rental. The test will be whether these 3 months are paid without issue.

Smartphones and tablets are cheaper than the average spare part and a new battery for laptops, so guess that is your answer too... Just a charger, new battery and inverter would set you back 3-4k.
Worth the investment for some android tablet in that case, you can also carry it around more easy and have more use cases for it. Lazada has plenty for 2-4K new that would be good for youtube / IPTV. Do not ask me how this can be produced, let alone fair, though (market prices are insane low if you ask me).Indeed. A brand new cheap tablet probably better than trying to liven up the dead or dying laptop.

If she is stunning and still bangs your brains out in a special way then hang on in there. One usually finds that the guys telling you that there are plenty of fish in the sea, easy to find etc. have the most appalling taste in women. On the other hand there is the headache to consider....

Well not exactly a big party but they were there, and the chairs and tables are still occupied by cheap gits and weirdos.
It would appear that some of those guys prefer grouping together rather than maintaining any semblance of social distancing. And the denial crowd are around somewhere to lend some encouragement and support. So I guess they can continue their bravado act the next 2 weeks in some of the low-ceiling restaurants in the area while the drinking bars are closed. (....though at least Tree Town is mostly open air). The rest of us can continue zig-zagging around them or crossing the road.
