Hello,
I got deported last year so i couldn't pay the bills for internet and my phone, do you think i risk to get arrested if i go to Thailand again ? I read about those 2 guys who didn't pay a restaurant bill.
How can i check if i'm "wanted" in Thailand from abroad ?
Thanks for the answers.

Hello,
I'm considering to buy at south point pattaya with the 20 yrs visa.
Can anyone tell me if the price they are selling is really far from the market reality in that area ?
Actually i would buy to rent and to get the visa for 20 yrs but i guess they inflated the price because of the visa, by how much is it inflated ?
Thanks.

Absolutely, i'm satisfied with Walen, that's why i'm not going to ask them anything, they did their job very well. I just mentionned the name of the school because it's a very popular school, so even in the best language school of the country you can get kicked out.

I would suggest you check the attendance policies at the branch the OP got his visa and definitely the Bkk branch . Your staff may not be implementing your desired policies. That is correct, they should not but a mistake was obviously made. It is not common. Also to put things in perspective, it was the very first such case. Walen School is trying our very best to take good care of our valued customers. We have at least 90-95% student satisfaction rate.
Wonderful. Is there any occasion where you do fee obliged to conclude with a canned advertising statement - even when confronted with a "mistake" made by your employees.
When meeting my gf at the bkk office and talked with several visa students on several occasions. I could tell you privately the actual policy as of 5 months ago.
Actually i can tell you that everyone can get extensions without attending classes at every language school that i asked. It's normal, they will even do the extensions for you in some schools in Hua Hin, you don't even need to go to the immigration.
I know at least 5 persons on ED visas who never attended any classes, some of them don't even bother going to the immigration for the extension, it's all done by the school (Hua Hin Schools).
If you ask every student to attend classes they will NEVER pay for an ED visa unless they want to learn thai, and not many of the ED visa holders want to learn thai, it's been promoted as a way to stay in Thailand, not as a way to learn thai.

Actually at Walen you can ask the staff to mark 100% attendance even if you don't go there. But they never advice you to do so. They told me to come to the classes but i didn't. They don't tell people "don't come it's fine", they tell us to come, but if we don't we still have the stamps as if we went to the classes. It's not their fault anyway, they are doing a good job.
I wasn't looking like someone who don't go to classes, i went to HK one time on the last 3 years and one time to Singapore. I'm not a serial traveller. I'm not involded in any employement in Thailand, i'm receiving dividends from HK and from Google by Western Union. I'm not working in Thailand.
So it doesn't matter if you look like a student, because i'm quite young looking, everyone thinks i'm 18-19 but i'm 28. If they don't believe you, they will deport you. Actually, on that day they were checking every ED visa holder.

I haven't contacted Walen because i know it's useless, they will not refund me and they will not get me in again. It's fine, it's not their fault if the thai immigration change the rules and enforcements all the time. And actually i'm glad i could stay in Thailand with my ED visa before even if i can't stay anymore, so why should i complain ?
I got some info from immigration officials saying that ED visa are targeted, that ED visa are a joke. They want to clean that up. If you don't get stopped at the immigration it doesn't mean that everything is fine, it's just a lazy officer. The word is to check on every ED visa holder if they are really studying or not and if they have money from abroad.
Even if you are a genuine student you could be sent home if they don't believe you, it doesn't matter if you are really studying or not. My post is a warning to all ED visa holders, carry with you enough cash to buy a ticket to your home country at all times or you could be sent to IDC.

It doesn't matter if you attend classes or not, i would have been kicked out just the same. They can't know if you are attending classes or not.

I read some reports that now the ED visa is for only 6 month, mine was older than 6 month. Maybe that's why i got refused.
-
My ex went to the immigration with the photo of my passport and stuff and they told her that the ED visa are boggus now. She also asked if i could get a visa with my thai son and they said no, only visa for mums now... They told her i could come back only as a tourist.
Incorrect. But you must legitimize your child first before you are able to get extensions of stay based upon your Thai child.
A single entry non-O is available on only the birth certificate naming you as the father.
He's already in every paper of mine i'm legally the father, my ex wife went to the immigration and they told her i couldn't get a visa with my son, that this kind of visa was reserved only for womans. I know that normally i can get the non-o visa with my son, but it appears that it's not possible anymore or my ex got wrong informations at chaeng wattana.

I had my credit cards with me and they refused me to go to the atm.

I never worked in Thailand, it's totally untrue. He assumed that by himself without any proof.
Do you think i'm banned from entering Thailand again ?

It's the risks of living in Thailand. Walen it's a good place, it's not their fault if i got kicked out like this.

Hi guys,
In France now, i tried to keep you updated using the on air wifi but it was too slow to post.
I flew with emirates. I asked at Dubai stop what happened and they said "Deportation because of insufficient funds, very strange".
The official "thing" is insufficient funds.
You haven't been deported you have been refused entry not the same thing, why is this concept so hard for people to understand, you can only be deported from a country you have been admitted to, you never got in the front door
You mean whoever the poster asked at Dubai did not know what deportation means and or the OP.
Why would anyone in Dubai know why the OP was refused entry to Thailand?
Because i was detained in Dubai for 10 minutes while waiting for my plane to France. I asked them why i'm here, and they said you've been deported for insufficient funds, it's very strange coming from Thailand.

I have been sent back as well. Spent one night in detention. I was on an ED visa as well and suprisingly also came back from a 3 day trip to HK. The only option I was given , was flying back to my home country with KLM royal airlines. I had to fly bck business class in order not to be locked up for over 24 hours. I paid for this myself. Im from The Netherlands by the way. If that makes any difference... I got a stamp in my passport saying I was working illegally in Thailand and had no money with me (last actually true apart from a ATM card and 800 HKD and a few 100 baht notes. I managed to enter twice again with an O visa based on my daughter. Each time they gave me a hard time. Im now waiting for a new passport.
Hello,
We are in the same situation, i also have a son in Thailand. Can you tell me please what did they ask you once you tried to re-entrer with the O visa ? Also how you go that visa while away from Thailand ? Thanks.

Cant you come with euros ? You need to get baht before coming to thailand ?
-
The important thing is not my situation here but the fact that with an ed visa 7 month old if you speak thai with 9K baht in your pocket and credit cards you can get refused entry. And yes i had proper re entry permit.

They told me if i want to come back better change my passport and get a tourist visa with at least 700 usd in cash, go and back ticket, hotel bookings and a plan to visit Thailand.... they want real tourists not foreigners living here on student visas.

Can't pay the bills if i'm not in the country, i pay them at 7/11 and you need the bills to pay them.
Reason was "came to work and has no money" when i tried to enter from Hong Kong, i was denied entry and deported.
First of all i didn't come to work and i have more than enough money, but i came with an ED Visa and it was the ED Visa crackdown.
