  1. you will generally be invited by your friend to get involved - you get a brochure of products to push on your friends etc, but the main nuts and bolts will be your friend helping you to find and recruit 6 or so more members, once you have them, your focus will be to give them a catalogue to sell products but also for each of your 6 newbies to go find themselves 6 people.

    You recruit 6 and then they, in turn, recruit 6 and so on. Do the maths - !st generation 6 (your friends), 2nd generation 36 (your friends' friends 6x6), 3rd generation - 36 in your chain x 6 = 216, 4th - 1296, 5th - 7776, 6th - 46656, 7th - 279936, 8th - 1679616, 9th - 10077696, 10th - 60466176 [refresh my memory - what's the population of Thailand?] Just a few more generations to go and you have got the whole population of the world in your chain.

As rio666uk says, it is not pyramid selling, it is now called multi-level marketing - same horse, different colour!

yes obviously there arent enough people in the world to keep doing this - we'd all be amway reps otherwise... but the reality is your trying to form one pyramid within a bigger pyramid, within a bigger pyramid, within.... you get the idea

  2. Amway products are generally of very good quality - but the OP isnt asking about the products.

Amway as a representative is different - I got mixed with them in my 20's - despite them denying it, relabeling and rebranding it, it is one of the original pyramid selling outfits.

as simmo quite rightly says - its a simple idea but not very easy - but you can listen to motivational tapes of tearfull american couples who relive their life stories to you - i, along with most others, would listen to these tapes in the car etc etc....

theres a bit more involved but not much - proceed if you like and see for yourself - at least you're forewarned :o

  3. Many thanks for the responses.

It is my friends parents who are travelling in sept, they have been LOS many times however with all the confusion at the swamp and DM we thought it best to ask the questions if anyone had any ideas.

I agree it is a little premeture but wise to have an idea should the situation arise.

The last thing they or anyone else should have to put up with is after a long flight arriving in BKK to discover your connecting flight has moved to another airport, yes it is LOS and anything does happen.

Is there as yet confirmation of whether DM will actually open and who will be operating there??

Many thanks,I'm sure others are pondering on this subject.

All Nok Air and all domestic One 2 Go will be at DM together with some Thai Airways flights

Will be clearer nearer to the cut of date of March 25.....

    Keep your eyes open

whats the cut of date a cut off for.. someone making a decision?

im flying air-asia BKK to Phuket March 27th and returning 4th April - is this likely to be out of the new airport?

im also flying nok-air BKK to Udon April 13th returning April 16th - from DM yes?

didnt say anything on the site when i booked - or nothing that i noticed

  4. congrats on quitting

i stopped smoking december 22nd last year

woke up sunday morning after a heavy night out with friends - only to find a half empty pack of smokes in my pocket and a tight chest - i immediately binned the fags and am quite amazed at how a few beers can turn my (up till now) perfectly strong resolve on its head.. <deleted> is the matter with me? :o

    yours dissapointed - 666

  5. whats your BP?

if its particularly high your doctor may prescribe medication, but will almost tell you the following too:

if youre overweight - losing weight will be a great help

if you smoke - quit, smoking is the worse thing for HBP

if you drink - moderate or quit alltogether

diet - change your eating to incorporate low salt and low fat

exercise along with the above will help you maintain lower blood pressure

no suprises here - just the same old story! good luck

  6. yeah that's what i mean, people who bring in their own laptops. the WEP rotation sounds useful, how did you set that up, was it part of your Internet Cafe Manager? I will look for that...

not sure that WEP supports key rotation - and i wouldnt recommend using WEP either - WPA is the way to go.

setting this up was all part of configuring the wireless access point - we dont need to use software like you would - either way it should be simple enough to do.

  7. a quick search on the net will give you an idea of what direction to head in... basically you need something like Internet Cafe Kiosk Software, or something Internet Cafe Manager - these will allow you to time and charge the punters as well as acting as a firewall, and download manager, restricting what pages can be viewed etc etc etc

i planned, setup and installed a fairly large wireless LAN where i work - i use WPA for the encryption with 10 minute key rotation.. that is one set WPA Pre-Shared Key that you install on all laptops using the wifi network - the wifi access points themselves then change the Key every 10mins to something else.

how you would do this for users coming in with their own laptops i dont know - i think thats what you were asking?

  8. its normal to have some form of interview before visa is issued - whether its a short interview, 5 mins, or the dreaded 1 hour interview..

as long as your docs and supporting evidence are in order, everything adds up and you can prove that you have known eachother for longer than a 2 week holiday (you'd be suprised...!) - you/she should have nothing to fear.

    good luck

  9. never actually seen it live - but these women/men that following childbirth - eat the placenta

im not a parent as yet, so dont shoot me down, but i fail to see why anyone would want to eat their own placenta... tree huggers or not - i find this totally bewildering

if you know of someone or yourselves have had an urge to do this - please enlighten

  10. Kate McGeown? She must be getting close to her sell by date surely?

But anyway, lets face it folks, given the choice between writing a piece on the sex workers of Bangkok and the working conditions of the trawlermen of Hull (including the rough old slappers they have to endure) there's no real choice is there. Besides which she doesn't have to actually go out on the streets interviewing pro's, it's all been done before, a few minutes on Google, cut and paste and file the report. Then it's off out on the p1ss, easy money.

i was gonna shun the BBC for a fairly futile piece.. considering far more important things happening in the Kingdom.....

but the above post has taken the wind right outta my sails - too true :o

  11. Major Thanks everyone.

I've done about 4 to 5 hours research last night and there are many options. An awkward part of the whole trip for me is getting to London (Heathrow) that involves a very long coach journey from where I live in the UK. What I'm thinking now is flying from my local airport, about an hour away, to Amsterdam via Easy Jet, which is really cheap. I am very familiar with Schiphol airport in Amsterdam and know the city very well too and might springboard off to Bangkok directly from there and possibly stay the night in A'dam.

But saying that, a stop-over in another country I've not been to yet sounds intriguing to break up such a long flight. The longest I've ever been on a flight is only 4 hours from the UK and I had enough by then...LOL

Thanks for all the info and links, which I will start checking out as I go along.

kind thanks, it's been a great help

    msho

you could check to see if KLM fly from your local airport - they do "one-stop" flight to BKK - stopping in Schipol (spelling)

if you fancy an interesting stop - abu dhabi / dubai was fascinating - i stayed for a week before flying on to BKK

  12. i always use my nearest branch of Trailfinders (www.trailfinders.com)

    - flight prices are obviously driven by time of year

    - flying non-stop is always gonna be more expensive than connecting flights, but do you really want to make a 12hr flight a 15+hr

    - in my experience EVA are the cheapest non-stop airline

    - i fly EVA elite class (new name for the old evergreen premium eco class)

    - anywhere between 475-750 for these seats depending on time of year

    all the best
