3 choices: USPS, USPS, or USPS. Never DHL. Never UPS. Never FedEx. Never! The private couriers will rip you off and tack on more charges to receive the package than it cost to send it. Learn this the easy way, not the hard way.

In general, the best way of all is to buy stuff from Amazon so it has a guaranteed import duty price known up front that can't be meddled with by customs. Customs can't touch you for 1 baht. And amazon delivery prices have sank so low it can be mind boggling these days.

Amazon will not ship to Thailand via USPS. UPS “customs agent” not only wanted more money but demanded I come to the airport with my passport to register as an importer. Twice packages have been sent back because I refuse to do this. The guy was a real AH. Fortunately Amazon reimbursed everything but the frustration was not worth it.

  2. Sorry to hear Bruce.  I'm just guessing all the documentation you need is in the house.  Or it was anyway.  Maybe go with a mutual friend that can help keep peace and ask for your stuff.  Next try taking police with you if that doesn't work.  They will probably want a fee for this service.

  3. Comprehension is not a big thing for you?
Where did I say leave your family?

I see ten year olds riding three up going and coming to school everyday. Guess what....none are getting killed, none...not one.

You and your ilk are simply projecting your western norms. Common sense and responsibility...where did you learn that - in the west. Well mate we aren't in the west anymore, and it is what is here, get used to it.

Why not license and insure ten year olds...they are going to do it anyway. Make it legal.

I saw a photo just a few days ago of 3 kids, look 10 or younger, squished by a truck they pulled in front of.

  4. Mate, you are wasting your time trying to have a conversation with the Dudley Dorights on here. Although it can be quite amusing teasing the retards. I can imagine the gritted teeth, the vein in their forehead popping and the red face as they scream at their pc/phone. You MUST obey!!!!! Poor sods.
I certainly see which side of the coin the retard is on!

  5. Impossible to make generalizations about all five million immigration offices in Thailand. What they expect depends on the office, whether or not they speak English well depends on the individual officer.

The only times I've heard of people with under consideration stamps being denied the extension is when they've withdrawn money from the bank (making the balance lower than 400k).
You mean before the final approval right? AFAIK after you get your approval stamp in your passport you can spend it all as long as there is 400K in the bank 3 months prior to application for next extension.

For me, it would depend a great deal on the context. But a random police officer appearing at my door would have to have a warrant. Otherwise, I will happily meet him at his office. I would not open my door. Would do the same thing in the US, by the way.

I used to love dealing with <deleted> like that. If the lone po po is at your door it is for something very simple. Give you a message, someone found your wallet and it is at the station please bring ID to claim it, etc. However if something more sinister has occurred then you may want to reconsider you stance. Consensual encounter is just that. If it were more there would be far more than one po po and yes they would already be armed with a warrant!
