  1. There's a lot going on in the South. Very little of it has to do with Islam.

We saw a first significant step in dealing with some of the issues not too long ago. People who were highly connected through marriage are no longer running criminal enterprises.

Expect more stories of a similar nature to come to light in the near future. People who were untouchable in the past are now running scared.

It has everything to do with the Cult and the Followers of Islam

  2. Toyota have the best resale value, which suggests that they are a). popular, B). reliable. c). relatively economical to run/maintain.

(the old model Tiger is for some reason (style? Build quality?) sought after and really has an absurdly high resale value.

Most car companies these days keep a minimum of spares in stock - saved on storage costs - but most Jap makes manufacture most of their parts in Thailand - the problem is just as likely to be a stock problem as having to import. some may have been unlucky and needed and imported part whilst others had to wait for the stock to appear from Thai suppliers.

do you need a 4 door? if so sit in the back and check out the seating - some - notably Nissan are/were simply embarrassingly primitive.

if you buy a vehicle under 3 years old, should should get the rest of the warranty - check your local main dealer knows this.

If you are buying secondhand, look at models 3 years older than the one you are buying - you'll get an idea of how they survive the years.

One think I hate about Isuzu, even though they are very popular in Thailand, is that their diesels get really "rattley" after a few years.

The old Nissan Navara was the top selling pick up in the world.

Mazda and old model Fords were not that popular, you might get a bargain - Ford had a poor reliability reputation - how deserved this actually is I don't know.

most pickups, if treated well are pretty unburstable.

If you don't know much about cars etc., its a good idea to befriend a local mechanic and get im to give a second opinion on anything you look at......... a small gift to this man could save you 1000s in repairs later.

However it is also nice to know that labour costs in Thailand are so low and getting even major mechanical repairs done on secondhand vehicles are refreshingly cheap.

i've never believed ay of the odometers I've seen, although I get the feeling that clocking a digital one is more difficult than a traditional mechanical one. You can probably tell more about the real mileage by looking at the driver's seat and steering wheel than the odometer itself.

brake and clutch pedal....signs of wear

There is no problem with you guys pouncing on the political aspects of this story. But now that you have done so, I think you should show some intelligence by balancing out your bigoted attitudes with some comments on the point of the story. Do you feel it's right to protest against this sect and the decision of the Sangha? Looking forward to some nonpolitical opinion from you. If it's possible.

I agree with you to a certain point. But their are so many stupid people in this world who believes that there is an heaven or hell and if they are good or bad or give money and devote themselves to these believes that they will go to an after life. You die your rot in the ground or burned, there is no soul and no afterlife.

While I stay neutral on the matter of a Afterlife. ....you speak as though you know for sure there isn't.....do you offer any proof of your claims......I think not......While options are like ass holes everyone has one.

  4. You cannot have both a Thai and and Oz paypal account, unless one is a business account and the other a personal. It's nothing to do with email address, it's because of PayPal rules and if they catch you they will suspend both accounts.

It's the sensible thing to close one and open a new one in Thailand. I did that about 8 years ago.

I must be the exception. ......only changed my mailing address. But I still use US bank accounts. No problem for me...infact just received a package yesterday.

  5. Its called "freedom" and not just another excuse to extract money and tell you how to live your life, as they do in the "nanny" countries.

I prefer the freedom to walk safely than the blocking of what little space that is available for walking. As far as the business aspect goes maybe many of these "Developing Countries" could be called "Developed Countries" if the Country wasn't deprived of tax revenues by these blockers of public walk-ways.

  6. Islamic terrorists "randomly" shot a bunch of folks in a kosher Jewish deli. Typical Obama denial of the obvious. . rolleyes.gif

So probably there were Christians among the victims, so why is the attack not called anti-Christian?

Maybe because you expect to find JEWS in a kosher Jewish deli? Are far as the Islamic terrorists are concerned, a few Christians are just icing on the cake.

Thanks for cutting out part of my post to make your boat float.

How about the Muslim worker who was on site every day?

How about the Charly Hebdo attacks, that were related to the one on the grocery? Where were the Jews there?

Dude if you ever had a boat it was sunk a long time ago......people like you that offer sympathy for evil really chap my Ass. As the current leader in Thailand likes to say...You really need a "Attitude Adjustment".

The best teachers in the world couldn't function in the corrupt and morally bankrupt Thai education system. I observe it both as teacher and parent. No fail policies creates laziness, corrupt school officials driving in Mercs to the golf court, plagiarism at all levels (including your esteemed Universities) , teachers struggling with basic content matter (English, math, Science), classes cancelled for o so many 'activities' and so on. A lot of my morning classes are cancelled so that the school director can give a 2 hour 'Hitler-like' speech to my primary students about the importance of education. A dog chasing his own tail.

Dear professor, come down from your ivory tower and just admit that the whole system is sick and in dire need of reform. A bit of attribution theory should be applied.

What ivory tower is that? He seems to have a good grasp of the problems. Typical TV farang - bashing one of the few bright spots in education reform this country has...because of your own personal ignorance.

Though the Profressor might have some points.......Soil Spoil was spot-on with his assessment. Maybe your the ignorant one because of the blinders your wearing.

I for one have first hand experience with the blunders of So-called Experts of Teaching in the Country. My Wife and I being a School Owner have faced challenges with the system ( Government ) for Teaching outside the Thai way. But the results prove otherwise as 98% of our Students are tested to be many levels ahead of all surrounding Schools in our area. In the beginning Parents where upset to see their child receive grading that they thought was harsh....Our answer was Nothing is Given All is Earned. We encourage our Students to ask questions and debate if they think the Teachers answer is incorrect. We have received criticism from the Government's Oversight System so much so we are forced to put up a front upon their visits.....but we resort back to our proven system at their departure..

Just curious. How many Thai teachers do you employ?
