  1. It is ALL about jealousy. Thaksin builded the airport. Yingluck signs deals with China to finally upgrade the railroad infrastructure. Which was completely ignored during Abhisit's Muppet Show. Corruption was common in Thailand (and Asia, and many other parts of the world) before Thaksin drunk his very 1st cup of Chinese tea. The rice program: of course a mistake. The rest? Thailand is/was doing very well under Yingluck. Liberty. Minimum wages implemented of 300 thb. P/d. A great international exposure. And then comes Suthep.......jealousy: there is no country in the world where people can not handle the very human emotion which is called jealousy. And for the rest: you can not just topple an elected PM just like that. One should learn from the 2006 disaster. It only creates again and more chaos.Suthep. pack your stuff and admit your envy. The high speed trains will run as well with you already being ashed.

  2. I feel bad for anyone here who thinks an UNELECTED council to choose the government is a good idea. Name another country besides dictatorships that does this .... Sent from my SM-N900 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Yes being ellected gives a government the power to rape and pillage the states coffers and hand out justice aimed at getting one man home.. OH i forgot they also make up fake G2G transactions to cover their tracks .. or even worse buy the rice cheap and resell it to the government again(also possible)

In a normal democraty the government would step down and let the corruption be investigated while those who are being investigated stay far away and usually step down during the investigation.

Guess what... this elected government does not do that.. its as democratic as Russia / North Korea / Iran

What a ridiculous post. In Russia youcan not express freely your opinion. Gays are being haunted. Iran is a medieval Moslim regime where people get hanged for nothing. N Korea you can not move around freely. Thailand is open one can express his opnions travel without restrictions. Change jobs. Chose to live the life you want. The comparison is sick and insane. Here is no regime or dictatorship. In contrary.......

  3. Good girl. Keep the faith and keep smiling. This kind of opposition proofs themselves being hilarious and will vanish like a centerpiece in a sewage canal soon. The shutdown is a failure. Most Suthep supporters are back to normalcy tomorrow.and the whistle for the kids....

  4. I guess if people cannot absorb the historical fact Thaksin decreased the level of poverty in Thailand, which may be a rather significant element of his popularity, then they are dim enough to support anybody else rolls up in opposition.

FYI the most respected independent research organization in Thailand, the TDRI, has shown that income disparity in Thailand has INCREASED due to the populist mania started by Thaksin. Go check it out, dude.

And all the subjective crap published lately from Sutherland sides: I can find NOWHERE back Human Rights Watch has titled Thaksin as 'a human rights abuser of the worst kind'. I would like to see it for myself in an HRW report.

  5. And then to think of the wise words of the beloved King who asked for unity, dignity, and all Thais to ask themselves what it takes to be proud of Thailand. For Suthep it is all a Power game frustrated as he is. In a quote early December 2013 he literally said: "When this game is won.....blablabla". He is guiding florishing Thailand into the worst misery in decades. Vision? Yes from hour to hour. Horny on press releases.....

  6. Yes. Accountability. Transparency. We all saw that during the Abhisit era. Rohinya's being pushed back the sea. Lao h'Mong official recognised UNHCR refugees forceully deported back to Laos (4.715 people to be exact incl. Babies) and stripped of all their belongings. No if you seek the Real Democratic Principles you have to knock on Abhisits' door.

    4.715 people is exact?

Yes. Nong Khaii + Petchabun refugee camps. 4.715 persons. "Rangers" and the Thai army (which can't stand to be criticised) performedthis extremely dirty job. Between Xmas and New Year 2009. The older generation Lao h'Mong fought against the communists together with the Americans. Hundreds of deported people: their whereabouts are unclear now. The GOL in Laos had some bills to even with them....... thanks to Abhisit the Mega puppet with his principles abd transparency. A loser!!

  8. Another important achivement of Thaksin well worth to mention, was his dedication to rule out ot at least fight drugs and its trade. His War on Drugs doesn't deserve perhaps a Beauty Price but at least something was done. From 2006 I have noticed Bangkok being taken over by pills, yabaa, crack etc etc. In the entertainmentsector it seems you don't belong to the scene if no drugs taken. It is a lost War now with very very doubtful dealers (read: police involved). While Abhisit was Prem's puppet and focusing on his pathetic battle to fight Thaksin and Hun Sen more important struggles like protecting his citizens for drugs supply were at the background. I see it in my streets. Yabaa addicts searching garbage bins for some left over food. No professional help, no battle to conquer the drug maafia. Alone for this reason I already wish T back on Thai soil.

  9. If you are that worried, pack up the wheelchair and go have a holiday in some neighboring country. A month will only set you lot back 30k+ and while you are there you can contemplate your future in this unstable country that you moved to for whatever dubious reasons in the first place.

If it is me you are replying to I have no intention to do so. This is my second country and I know it will come through as it has in the past. On the other hand it never hurts to take some precautions whether the problem is floods, bushfires, sunburn or civil unrest. Electricity is a fragile product. A few will remember the power failures that shut off all of Bangkok some 35 years ago lasting several days. Lifts did not work, pumps did not work, sewerage did not and backed up and food went rotten in freezers.

Similar things have happened in Canada and in New Zealand.

No, was not directing my comment to anyone directly.

Bangkok 35 yrs ago, well that was an entirely different place. Besides, who cares if they shut the lifts, walk up. AC? It's the coolest part of the year and we are experiencing a bit of a cold snap <deleted>. Freezer full of food here? Joking right?

We are few km from ground zero, doing nothing more than stocking up on cash and 11L bottle of water (tap + bleach, no machine here), which is always on hand. Oh, I will go buy booze. What is a revolution without booze!

Too funny, people down south and CM worried about, whatever. Just asked wife uf we should go buy some food tomorrow. Nope. She gives less f**ks than me and I give zero.

'Murkans, first to panic. Seems that way.

Perhaps your wife is not very interested atcall. Does she mind when you look bit sad close to the balcony railing. While you laugh about misery coming up for both Thai society and Foreigners. Good luck with the booze. It flattens emotions.

  10. The way Thaksin was ousted was an extremely dumb decision. He should have been prosecuted, prosecuted and so on. By legal means but since the legal system is so rotten a fact, (even before Thaksin turned up) his courtcase wasn't purely objectively handled. He left Thailand and he was right to takethat opportunity. Most of TVF members would go along too when jail is 'flirting' and you have options to fight your battle abroad? Anyway, no nons3nse. A befriended Khmer Colonel trusted me in 2011 that arms stock piling in Cambodia was big business. His job was to take record of the numbers/places/type of weapons. The finances came/come from Thaksin. That is why I say; brace for impact. The Red's are well equipped. Thaksin will seek revenge until the last effort. And to frank. I admire him. Because elite and military brass with close connections thought to shake him (a lice) out of their furjacket. I would have fought the same being in such position.

  11. Putting this whole article on the internet is to me very irrisponsible of Thaivisa. You should have ommitted the part about the money. you have now put ALL Americans and their famillies in danger from people that might break in to get the money. I think you should think about what you put on here just as much as you read all replies. Please think first next time.

But that would be censorship, just take out parts of an article because the context 'stock pile some money' comes up. when you go to Myanmar, travel agencies advice you to take lots of cash. Is that a risky situation too?

  12. I went to Tesco Koh Samui today the shelves are empty and the first thing that came to mind was either people are stockpiling or they have transportation issues I would imagine that supplies come from Bangkok if all these intersections are closed I cannot see many vehicles being on the roads in Bangkok something tells me weare all in for a crazy week or two all due to one individual lock him up and throw the key away he wants to turn Thailand into a North Korea where no one will have any rights accept those with masses of wealth gained by corruption.

    That`s a bit unfair,it`s not all Thaksin`s fault.

    Rice we have.

  13. Valgehiir, if worst case scenario happens (which is not gonna happen) only retarded foreigner will not be able to find food on his own.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, since it seems you want this all to happen. I know people like you, have couple of friends like that.

Everybody with a brain will not have problems. But maybe therein lies the problem. Brains.

Apart from not writing very nice to a fellow member; what makes you so sure the worst case scenario is not going to happen. Happy Pizza's or so? In my humble opinion, and since history always follows a certain pattern, the timing has now come for the real blow-out between the extremely diversed Thai society. I am not a doom-thinker; I just read, watch and use my brains.

And in addition, I work at a factory with +1.000 Thai employees. Come and monitor the tension amongst those here. The clashes, intriges, gossip, extreme differences in opinion. A good reflection what is going in Thai society itself. When a bubble will burst, it is the bubble I am talking about here..........
