It's already starting. Failing business etc is being taken over by the Chinese. Some would call it financial aid, some would call it master-plan succeeded...

Yes, I can believe that will happen in other countries as well. Governments will issue bonds to finance the debt and China will buy them. Companies and property will be snapped up by Chinese citizens. All part of the belt and road.

Agree, and we are ecpecting those very prople who disregard helmet, vehicle condition and road law to abide by the lock-down and travel restrictions.

Obtaining a Medical Certificate and Insurance which includes covid-19 will keep numbers very thin on the ground.

Never forget "falang kee nok" that lies at the heart of it.

Any incoming flights are only carrying returning thai citizens now since last week.

The financial consequences for people in countries with scant or no welfare and medical services are serious snd will escalate with each passing. At least LOS shut down arrivals on 23rd March.

Baansgr, we are living in stressful times but I am not aware covid-19 is rampant in Pattaya. So calm down and stop posting a load of derogatory insults. Where does that get us ?

Just as well I did'nt make my flight on 23rd. Would be be stuck there as the world locks down. But seriously, when Spain, Italy, etc suffer huge numbers of deaths, what are the real numbers in Thailand ? 

After being unable to board my flight on 23rd without the Medical Certificate it will be a while before I try again. Refund or voucher from airline-I don't know yet. The current dirty farang atmosphere in LOS-no thanks ! 

I love it, shoo people off the benches, WHAT BENCHES ? They took them all away years ago.

I am not aware any measures have been taken to support people who are suffering this lock down. Where are the food banks, soup kitchens, any welfare benefits at all ?

Whatever the projected number of infections and deaths, I just want accurate stats.

The airports may be open but dirty farang arrivals are in lock down  as i could not board my flight on 23rd march. It's your party now Thailand. Enjoy !

There can be no excuse for anyone mixing in close proximity but the mindset against dirty farang leaves me not wanting come back again.
