Thailand is on the red list .Therefore if you return to the UK from Thailand you have to quarantene. This applies to people who live in the UK and to expats.
It is not discriminating against expats. I am flying to Thailand next week and if I return when Thailand is still on the red list then I will have to quarantene just the same.
Can you stop-over ten days in another country before returning to UK, to avoid the quarrantine

Just for info' no other reason.
Both Pakistan and Bangladesh had lower vaccination numbers, yet Thailand was kept on the red list. Why ?

He has a point though.
The issue will not be westerners buying one rai out in the sticks somewhere and building a house for him and his familly.
The issue will be Chinese companies buying up huge tracts of land and developing them as a home from home for use by a select few of their fellow countrymen.
Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos are already experiencing this.
I agree, if I could sit down and have a chat with papa Prayut I would say don't do it, keep it in the family. I read Saudi Arabia wanted to buy land to grow rice.

Come on now guys! Is it 1 Oct, 15 Oct or 1 Nov? I am getting confused here.
Can we settle on mid November ? We could book a flex-flight.
PS; Visa exempt travel to Los will be 30 days.

Later on many countries are unable to repay the loans and then China can get anything it wants out of them. China will eventually take over Thailand but the Thais will have no one to blame but themselves. The Chinese are very intelligent and clever to say the least.
In a nutshell its called debt trap diplomacy.

All this kind of stuff is good click-bait nonsense. And all this on a day when the UK has kept Thailand on the red list and the visa excempt sandbox scheme will reduce from 45 days to 30 days in October.

And I don't doubt you've provided work for the construction industry and helped children through school like me. None of which counts compared to some fictitious rich foreigner.

Thailand needs to get its own house in order before starting to entertain foreign tourists and then they need to drop all the B S red tape and money gouging restrictions - either open fully or don't bother, if you can't even open to your own local population how on earth are you ready for foreign visitors - all this is a political message to make the government look good in the news - the truth is something entirely different - "look we are opening up" just doesn't cut it on any level - Thailand is far from open or ready
Regrettfully, you are absolutely correct. !

Pattaya is NOT going to 'Move On' until all these daft Thailand entry restriction have gone. It's a complete waste of time and man hours even talking about it. But I guess it's all about making them look busy and deserving of an income.
Just endless prevarication. As Kenneth Williams would say; "Stop messin about"

Thailand and its shanty town shops, and the hotels will soon be joining them. No money, no maintenance, a country ruined by its governments mistakes !
Was'nt this what happened to Myanmar under its strict military rulers for many years closed off to the world.

Covid has brought the tourism industry to its knees and this government has given it the coup de grace.
Verý true, it never had to be like this and the government knows it. The endless prevarication over opening up and getting people jabbed up amounts to control and suppression worthy of DPRK.

It will all look nice and neat and tidy for the air-conditioned coach loads of Chinese tourists driving past on Beach Road, while the farangs and Thais wanting to enjoy a shady spot by the sea for an hour will simply have to roast in the sun, or grease the palms of the deck chair mafia. But as long as the Chinese tourists are happy, that's all the mayor cares about, the Pattaya City vaccination programme (as opposed to the national one) shows that he's completely unaware that there are such creatures as farangs actually living in his city.
On your last point, the mayor is as aware that farangs live in his city as he is soi dogs live there.

They are not sitting in a bar, but in open space, they can not infect someone , because no one will come there. In other places like the hotels in Panggna or Phuket it seems more dangerous than on a desolated beach... But of course foreigners, not even tourists ..... not allowed.. but Thais sitting together under a tree in or around a village ... no problem
Here in the UK we have never been obliged to wear masks outside, only to abide by social distancing and use a mask in shops and public transport etc.
Its just OTT hunt down the farang as usual.

No, what they've done here is throw up roadblocks which exclude almost everyone.
I've noticed over the years that governments often do this kind of thing instead of banning something outright.
If they ban something outright then there might be retaliation in kind from other countries. Leaving the door slightly open leaves room for
I twigged this last year too. The endless list of requirements to travel. Just roll out the barbed-wire and be done.

Normality does not exist anymore. "They" will not be happy till Pattaya resembles a post- apocalyptic disaster movie set like "I am Legend".

I've been stuck outside Thailand away form the wife for 16 months, BUT if they shut Thailand down until Jan 1 and inject what they can and open up without hoops 100% then I'm ok with the delay, at least we can plan.
It's the not knowing anything definite that's doing everyone's heads in !
Richard, I am in exactly the same circumstances, lost my flight on 23rd March last year. Its unlikely Thailand will open in October as Prayut said. So can't get back to the condo in Pattaya or my wifes home in Isaan.

My reaction as well, The truth is out there somewhere but will it be found.

The first article I read conclusively said this woman was raped and murdered. Yedterday it was suspected that she was.
The circumstances and motive leading seem strange indeed.

According to some members here we are not allowed to dislike a product because it doesn't work or do what it says on the tin, because to do so would be "bigoted".
Utter BS Eric, I want a product that works and protects me from the very transmissible Delta variant, nothing more, nothing less, so crawl back into your CCP sponsored hole.
I could tell by the spelling Eric is here with a motive.

It is clear by just the comments here that potential travellers fall at every hurdle put in their way. We now need official confirmation of entry requirement or risk a wasted trip to the airport.
