  1. Because I live in a gated community in Pattaya and it's called a village. The "motosai" guys have been asked as well as the security guy and the somtam lady and the soi dogs,
  2. Thanks, have already asked two groups working on houses in our village but they're not interested in small projects like this one.
  3. The roof of my house has started leaking so need to get it fixed ASAP. Can anyone recommend a handyman for this job?
  4. Are there any tennis groups in Pattaya that meet regularly and play? Asking for my wife who want's to start playing again after a long break. Nothing too competitive, just friendly games.
  5. Been through all the router menus but no connected devices list fould. Will give the "Fing' app a try instead.
  6. I'm switching my router off pretty much daily so that should not be an issue for me but if you rarely do this then you should as it's recommended to turn it off for several minutes a few times each week.
  7. It's an Android box loaded with hundreds of channels.
  8. It was all working fine up to last Sunday when I was able to watch football with little or no buffring so I don't think it's the capacity of the box. The box is called HK1 btw.
  9. Everything on my Android box (basically Western TV channels). If I watch Youtube or stream Netflix directly on my TV there is no buffring.
  10. I cleare the cache regularly and turn the unit off every day. Don't know how to ensure apps are closed except to exit them.
  11. When my internet is working well I use the WIFI connection. I do have a LAN cable that I connect to it as well when I attempt to watch the football games but it never makes much of a difference. If the speed is down it starts buffring even when the LAN cable is attached.
  12. Yes, but the tests don't show any slowdown here in Thailand. They rarely do. When I test against a sever in Europe or the US the results are a different matter, from acceptable to useless. 3BB and the other ISP's know full well when there is a slowdown in the connection abroad but they never admit it.
  13. Since last Monday I'v been unable to use my Android box as it's constantly buffering. I have a 750 Baht/month package with 3BB and I live in south Pattaya. Anyone else with the same problem?
  14. I have a 750/month 3BB Internet package and have lately had issues using my Android box (basically unusable due to buffring). I have had a look at my internet speed with Ookla (seems fine) but when I run Pingplotter I get another story. What does it mean when I have such a high packet loss on my private IP router address. And are there more people out there with the same problem? I tink it started Monday or Tuesday (I live in south Pattaya).
  15. My Yamaha Aerox has just passed 1000 km and apparently a service is required. Could anyone recommend a decent placew to do this? Used to have a PCX and had a really great Honda garage that did quality work so am looking for something similar.
  16. Sorry, I'm a technical idiot so don't know what that means. When/if I get the piece back I'll post a pic of the other side too. I would have just taken it to Tukcom and had them (try to) fix it but there are quite a number of wires that have to be reconnected and I didn't take a pic of the unit before he disconnected (and cut off 2 of) the wires. Will try another guy suggested by Jeffr2.
  17. Had an electrical guy come and take it away. He said he would be able to find a replacement, Called an hour later and said replacement not available but he could fix it for 1600 Baht. Yes, onethousandsixhundred Baht. Naturally my Mrs said no in a much more polite manner than I would have. He called 5 min later and the price was now 1000 Baht. At this point I wouldn't have agreed to 10 Baht so will try to get the unit back and find another guy.
  18. Guess I found the problem. There's a short-circuit on the circuit board. Sparks are flying if I press the first fan button hard. Not something I can change myself or even know where to order. Hopefully the electric guy will finally show up tomorrow after having stood me up today (what a surprise!)
  19. Tried to help? Let's agree to disagree on that.
  20. Yes, the light in the extractor is working. The buttons for the fans sit right next to the light switch and they started acting up a few weeks ago, meaning they had to be pushed on/off several times. Finally nothing happened when we switched on the fans.
  21. Thanks, I'll have my Mrs give him a call if the guy we've found and who's coming in this afternoon gives me a crazy quote.
  22. Thanks, I have brought items before to Numchai and also the basement shop in Tukcom but I just don't want to disassemble something I might not be able to assemble once reparied - I'm totally useless as a handyman.
  23. "Use an ordinary fan to direct the fumes out the nearest window...." ???? (I'm assuming that was a joke.) "...OR, buy relevant item from HomePro and replace it yourself." I would if I knew what "it" was. "It's just an extractor fan and you are in Thailand- no need for qualified electrician." What a strange statement. Like 'it's just abdominal pain and you are in Thailand - no need for a qualified health professional'.
  24. Your guy seems to be very popular as he's not available until after the 20th this month and we can't do much ccoking until the extractor fan has been fixed so if there are any other suggestions from members that would be greatly appreciated.
