And I cringe at the thought of Trump's pals Putin, Kim and Xi just playing him like a fiddle, as has been pointed out by numerous former high-ranking WH officials who had the misfortune to see this up-front. Absolute clown.

What I saw was one of the candidates lying incessantly, forcing the mods to give a yank on his earlobes to get him to calm down. It's very much like what "the dog whisperer" (Cesar Milan?) does to get a dog's mind to stop "malfunctioning".

I would leave that up to the candidates. They can fact check each other all day for all I care. I also think that when candidates tell lies that a 4 y/o caught with his hand in the cookie jar would refrain from telling it's not wrong for a mod to do a little tug of the proverbial ear. And if there's anyone on the planet who needs an ear tug it's the old snake oil salesman himself.

They are 'moderators'. The clue in what is and isn't for them to do is kind of in the name. And it certainly isn't the opposing candidate's job to fact check the other. I mean, if that were the case then when would Harris get time to do anything but fact-checking, considering the amount of absolute drivel that comes out of Trump's mouth.

Amen. That doesn't necessarily keep out the losers but at least they will be democratically elected.

I hate to sound like a broken record but it doesn't seem to penetrate your skull that when making bold statements like "His support base now is larger" you reeeeally need to back it up with links to credible sources. Because you wouldn't want people to think you were trolling, would you?
