  1. I've had this experience myself in Sisaket.

Also some other farangs from the same office.

I have a theory that the smaller offices need to justify their existence by making work for themselves, so as not to get merged or taken over by bigger offices in neighbouring cities.

    In my case ubon Ratchathani.

    Ive had these visits twice.

At first I felt uneasy about the treatment,

But if I weigh up the pros and cons, it takes me no more than 10 mins to do my 90 day report, and the staff have always been very helpful, and I've never had to pay an agent or a cup of tea.

So if they drop in on me from time to time, they are more than welcome.

  2. Tx6 is good.

Anything with android 9 on lazada will do a good job.

Even a cheap android box for 500bht does the job for me, but I mostly use firestick 4k.

The best apk in the world IMHO is filelinked.

Ive never been so spoiled for choice for TV and movies.

Also, you can watch sky news live and Al jazera live on YouTube.

  3. I done this last year.

First step was to go to the transport office, and explain my situation (same as yours)

The lady prepared a paper for me to take to my new local immigration office. I took it along with my wife and her tabien barn.

At that point, I registered my new adress with immigration, and had the paper stamped.

Next step was back to the transport office to do the traffic light test and was issued with new licences with new adress.

I must add that my bike and car licences had both expired a month before, but I hadn't noticed, so if yours is still valid, the procedure might even be easier.

  4. You can watch it on mobdro, and as far as I know it is not illegal in Thailand.

Besides, not wearing a motorbike helmet is illegal, but not even enforced, so do you think you or I will be getting a call from interpol for watching BBC news or a football match ????

  5. Yokohama are a very good tyer.

Ive used them in the UK 30 years ago.

What I will say, is only use AT tyers if you're driving mostly on unpaved roads, otherwise, you would get better grip from normal tyers if you are on normal roads most of the time.

They're not as good looking, but horses for courses.

  6. I would arrange for your dad to fly into Thailand, without the knowlage of this lawyer, and see what happens at immigration.

They will have to deal with it one way or the other, and that's assuming they tipple to any ban in the past.

Ive actually heard a story of an overstayer who was deported, who returned a year later on a new passport (own name) and was permitted entry numerous times.

Your dad's 5 years are up, so he's doing nothing wrong.

  7. Congratulations ????

I can't go anywhere in the world without my cuppa tea, so I know what it's like to need some creature comforts now and again.

I take my hat off to you for keeping English livestock so far away from home.

It must be both challenging and rewarding in equal measure.

  8. My friend was in a similar situation last year, before covid, and he got someone to put the passport on a bus from pattaya to Sisaket.

I was horrified by the idea, but he received his passport with no drama at Sisaket bus station.

I know this isn't going to interest you, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

  9. I thought aerox where all keyless, but obviously not.

Definitely the  key on the end of a spring loaded key chain would be the answer, but while I was looking for something on Lazada a few days ago, I came across 2 keyless entry fobs. Not sure if they where for a car or a bike, but it might be worth a look.

I have a earox with keyless, and when I walk away from the bike with ignition on, I get a beeping noise automatically.

  10. As johnwilly stated, walls very rarely support anything here in Thailand. The structure of your house, be it 1 or 2 storey, should be supported by reinforced concrete posts, usually prefab for 1 storey.

    Is the crack vertical?

Is it above a window or a door?

Settlement is common in buildings , but is more common, and extreme if the posts aren't layed properly, or if are layed too soon when land is made higher.

You will need to ask more than one decent local builder to look at it before deciding what steps to take,

Sorry I can't recommend one as I'm not from up them ways.
