Basically, "woke" used to mean knowing things like racism being bad, that everyone should be treated the same, and there were injustices that really needed to be addressed.  Now "woke" means pointless virtue-signalling and pandering to the extreme, particularly things that are nonsensical/fake, have the opposite effect that they are intended to, and that ruin some form of art.

So Trump is woke? He panders to the extreme, is often nonsensical and dishonest and agrees with removing literature he doesn't like from libraries.

Good tangent. You said nobody had mentioned carbon steel which was incorrect as I had mentioned cast AND enamel, historically enamel pans have been carbon steel.

Aluminium didn't come into it as I had already stated ferritic material.

Historically enamel cookware started with cast iron. How is anyone supposed to gather that you were talking about carbon steel cookware when you mention enamel pans?

I purchase our products going by reputation of the company and the length of the warranty. But both have recently been negated. Additionally, shoddy cost saving during manufacture seems to be more and more common.

The largest computer chain in the country sold me a graphics card under a three year warranty by (a reputable company that has given outstanding service in the past). The card failed after five months. The company sent it to Bangkok and three weeks later I was sent a new card.

Six months later the replacement card had the same failure. Back to the store and the card was again sent to Bangkok. One month later the card was returned and I was informed it was not the original card I bought and therefore not under warranty.

This is the third consumer electronics part where the businesses avoid honoring the warranty. Since nobody repairs circuit boards any more, only replaces them, we can no longer trust a warranty period.

Other: A 2000 watt vacuum with a 4 meter long cord with 1.2mm wire. 2000 watts divided by 220 volts = 9 amps. Current capacity of 1.2mm, 18 gauge stranded wire is no more than 6.5 amps. This appliance will burn out within a few weeks.

Microwave oven, Very well known name brand. 3 prong plug but the ground was not connected. Cutting the cord open, there is no ground wire.

Your vacuum will probably be ok.

Rules for me and rules for thee. Don't do as I do, do as I say. As the global elites are jet setting around the world in their gas guzzling jets spewing all sorts of carbon emissions they are pushing their green deal on the world's population. Inflation has been ignited by the  Global elites and Central Bankers to force consumers into impractical and unrealistic alternatives like electric cars and solar and wind energy which can never replace the loss of oil and gas. It has been a lifelong dream of the World's Central Bankers to eliminate cash and go to a cashless society. It is all about power and control over the world's population. The Chinese cashless system has imprisoned their population with their social credit scores and constant monitoring of their accounts. At  least with cash if banks try to ram you with negative interest rates and force you to have to pay a fee for the privilege of keeping your money there, you can withdraw your funds. With no cash you are screwed.

Are you saying you would be forced to keep your digital currency in a bank? People would no longer be able to own stocks, gold, bonds, property etc. as investments?

I'm sure people go 'nuts' in Bangkok too....  BUT... It just doesn't fit the 'media-mould' quite as well as either a Brit or an Aussie going completely bonkers in Pattaya.

In Bangkok its usually a Thai Love triangle and someone going bonkers that fits the mould.

The Thai media loves nothing more than the repetition within its own echo-chamber....

The article is from The Pattaya News, it is posted in the Pattaya News forum by AN. Why would anyone expect articles in this forum to cover people going nuts in Bangkok?

  6. If this were a thing I would not be able to stay here. I have lived in houses owned by my wife and son, no rental agreement and no lease. My extension is granted due  to having a TM30 and signed copies of house book and owners ID as proof of where I live.

What would they do if you had a one year rental that ran out 3 months after your extension date?

    Someone has misinterpreted something.

  7. My CB300F was insured 1st class with Viriyah when I bought it, about 4,000 a year. They will only do 1st class for three or four years. I switched to some sort of 3rd party with them for 2 years for about 500 a year. Wasn't too happy with the coverage that provided so now have 2nd class with Roojai for about 2,000 a year. Never made a claim so can't comment on how they deal with them.

I think you will find there are not many reports of immigration wanting a non existent receipt, that the online system doesn't actually print, how can they ask for something that doesn't exist .

The only reports I have ever seen comes from people not actually using the system, or agents etc, who have a vested interest in saying its very difficult, and best to use their services.

I administer 5 properties, report tenants online frequently, to date none of these tenants have been asked by immigration for a paper receipt.

Did my extension early March and as the Immigration officer handed back my passport he mentioned that next time they wanted a copy of the TM30 receipt that is stapled in my passport to be included with the usual submitted paperwork.
