Make the most of it while you can, it won't last long.

Correct,  my sis-in-law owns a company and started not using masks about 12 days ago. In last 2 days her brother, his wife and co-worker all have Covid.  All had at least 2 shots of western vaccine. My wife who has 3 shots and has always worn N95 Masks  has to take care of the sick emplyee's.  Staff have gone back to wearing masks.

So, I asked around, it turns out that the beautiful lady's English bf is still married to his English wife (he can't divorce her, probably a financial thing, whatever).

It's really a sad story, she would like to marry him and she desperately wants children (33yo) but he won't reverse his vasectomy. Poor girl.

It's a separate issue, I would like to get some information on this Thailand 'marriage ceremony', it has really been bugging me.

I'm trying to understand, seems a little Dodgy to me.

So, if a foreigner has a marriage ceremony here in Thailand (just a ceremony, no marriage certificate) to show the gf that he is committed, is this legal or is it possible if the foreigner is still married in his home country?

By the way for your info that old BS story of " the wife back home won't give me a diviorce" is a story a lot of EU  boyfirinds give to their  Thai GF's.  Some are not even married back in their home countries but simply use that as an excuse  that they can't marry.  They just don't  want to commit to a legal/binding wedding to the Thai girl.

Again?? why are they not found by the police...It seems that it are the same and with cameras everywhere it should be possible to find them... but......

Post said  8th report of neclaces stolen from Indians, seems more like the 10th..   BS I think. Need to have warnings   at bus station/airport  do not wear gold neclaces in Pattaya.  Police should give flyers out  to hotels  to give to tourists ( especially Indian ) stating do not wear  gold neclaces on streets of  Pattaya.

Again ... if a millionaire, I wouldn't be working either.  That would have to be one special job, to get me to show up.  That was the only thing I wanted to be when I grew up ... retired ????

That's not the case for everyone. I have a friend in US , could have retired 6 years ago, owns 21 rental apartments , has over 5 million USD cash in at least 1  account I have seen , and is still working at our old job.  His accountant has told him working at the job is crazy as he would still be getting 80% of his pay if he  retired.  His rents pay him more in 2 months than he makes at job all year.   Some people have no outside social life so going to work ,meeting people is the only social interaction they get. Would be lonely without it. He has no wife , no kids and has been to Thailand before so knows how nice it is.

Another co-worker also could have retired 6 years ago died in January from Covid home alone.  No wife or kids. Simply coming to work as that is the only friends he had to comunicate with.  Not sure how much money he had but he never had a passort and never traveled on vacation , only to music concerts in the state.

You have to be very careful when riding a bicycle anywhere thailand is no different.respect the bigger vehicle anywhere do that and you will be ok

I have been an avid runner and bike rider for many years , rode my bike to work  ( 10 kilometers ) in Boston, MA USA  many times. Never ride  my bike in Bangkok streets. I ride in park near my condo in Bkk.  In Pattaya I ride in the village or on the back roads in Pattaya where there is less traffic. Cars and motorbikes in Thailand drive insanely with no regard for others.

BTW, if you're on a marriage visa what documents do you show to immigration to prove that you are married.

1st you need an afadavit from your Embassy stating that you are single or diviorced and therefore free to marry. Then you take that to MFA = Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be translated/notorized. Then take that to the Amphur to get  a marriage certificate. Pay extra and  and get the big book one (Fancy) When applying for marriage visa take wife, marriage certificate, financcial documents, passport, wife's ID,  ect to Immigration.   Google  "marriage registration in Thailand for foreigners"  and  " Thai marriage certificate"  for info.

I was talking to a Thai lady the other day, her friend is sexy as f&$#.

Anyway, I said to the Thai lady that I wanted to marry her friend, she replied saying her friend was married to a man from England, I knew her friend wasn't married.

I replied, saying no, she has a boyfriend only.

The Thai lady said her friend was married but doesn't have a document.

OMG, marriage without a document, she nearly convinced me, the Thais are beautiful, what the hell does that mean, married but has no marriage certificate? ????

They know how to twist everything to suit them.

I 'll jump in now as well. You are the one who brouht up the remark (in your last sentance)  "married but has no marriage certificate"  . Many Thai including a former Prime Minister  stated they are married but never registerd  at an amphur. Many have the village "blessing cerimony" which everyone considers gettting married but untill notifying the Amphur it's not.  Some register the marriage years later, I did and so have many others. We are legally married now with documents but did it years after the  marriage cerimony. Some never do it unless they need to get a marriage visa or other official stuff.

maybe i go back see if she there

As I said I have been visiting Thailand and Pattaya Beach for over 20 years and never saw her again. Guess just local girl visiting Pattaya with friends hooking up with the farang for fun.

Tourists don't live here, so they should have little say in anything.  From the Thais I know, they are fine with midnight closings.

Then you are not talking with those that are in entertainment or service industry.  Reg Thai working at factories, schools ect  may go to bed early but those working bars, restaurants, massage, food hawkers (carts) ect use the longer  hours to make more money.

    She didnt know exchange rate

She knew as I told her what the US $5  was in baht , think she maybe had never been with farang before and didn't know what to charge. Don't think she was a regular hooker  and definately not a bar girl. Just young  girl hanging on the beach with friends.

Best if the girl has a room nearby, or there is a hotel somewhere you are willing to pay for.

Never take a pick up girl to your condo..I know from experience that they might show up uninvited.

Had that happen years ago when I first came here.  Picked up a young girl freelancer on Beach Road. Dark skinned Issan girl but beutiful, face body. Didn't even know what to charge , when I asked she said $5. Figuered she was new so I said no and paid her $20. Went with her a few days then waited for a Thai girl from BKK to show up ( my now  Thai wife). Was sleeping with her when then around 2 AM my hotel room door opens up. It was the girl. The hotel staff let her  in as they had seen me with her before and she asked for me by name. I waved her away as my GF was in bed sleeping with me, she waved goodbye and in all my years visiting I have never seen her again. Guess she was just visiting  Pattaya as well.
