Famous aka rich women who full of botox and implants. Most women don't have a personal trainer, chef, masseuse etc.

Having said that I'm getting more and better sex now than I did when I was 38, 20yrs ago. Fetlife is full of wonderful possibilities ????

We are in Thailand, most  even middle class women stay young looking by eating right (not a lot of US junk food)  working out (cheap gyms/public exercise classes), masseuse (can get massages for $10 sometimes less) plus Thai women simply age less than American/EU women. Sorry but those bountiful German, Russian, Italian, Brit women  get wide and heavy in old age. Don't seem to take the trouble to keep fit.

My wife has no implants but takes yoga classes or exercises every day. We both eat healthy diets, fish, veggies, not too much sugar, work out, have massages, ride bikes or jog and both look much younger than our ages she 48, me 74.

It is a shame that so many seniors in Thailand have not gotten their vaccines.

That shows just how much concern the Thailand government has for the senior population.

My Thai family has paid good money to get the good quality vaccines, when they showed up in

Bangkok. I am thankful that they have all gotten the vaccine including the children.

I live in Bangkok/Pattaya, I and all Thai family members have had the shots/boosters for free at various centers. Unfortunately I have Thai friends whose parents are in rural (Issarn) areas and they refuse to take the shots. They can get them AZ, Pfizer for free  but won't get them.

I must confess that I am one who has not sought a booster. After having severe long term side effects after the first two doses, I am reluctant to have a third shot in case it kills me, or ruins my health permanently.

What shots caused  bad reaction with You?   I had 2 Astrazeneca , 2nd shot after 11 hrs caused me to have chills, temperature, shaking and  muscle pain. Woke up in morning and was fine.  Had a Pfizer  booster had a little temperature and pain at injection site woke up next day and was fine.

I am 78 years old and an insulin dependent Type 2 diabetic taking medication for blood pressure.

This morning I went for my second booster vaccination and no problems so far (as with the previous three jabs).  All jabs were free here in Siem Reap however my combination is Sinovac-Sinovac-Sinovac-Sinovac. I have not experienced any ill effects whatsoever and have never been tested for Covid-19.

One of your booster shots should have been an Mrna vaccine or AstraZeneca. You see that China is locking down cities again and not allowing their citizens to travel mainly because their Sinovac/sinopharm vaccines are weak and inefective against omicron and new strains of Covid.

Such a terrible feeling when you wake up one morning, and she's gone.

Such a terrible feeling when you are stuck in a faraway country, and the love of your life is not with you.

Even, if it might be a cat or dog which you love.

#1 Yes it's terrible to lose a loved one. When  my soul mate died I moped around for almost 3 years untill I said to myself she wouldn't want me to live/feel this way. I then came over to Thailand and found a wife and nice life here.

#2  Why are you stuck here in Thailand ( I presume ).?  You said you made a choice to come here, why stay if you are not happy here and can't find what could make you content.

#3  Dog/cat  are good for health but mose people prefer human companionship. As others have said  doesn't even have to  be sexual. Could hire a younger cute care giver that comes by to clean codo or take you out for shopping maybe is a dinner compainion for you  even sex  if she's ok with it but there are  many possibilites  in Thailand.

You gave examples of hot women who aged badly ,there are quite a few who did not age badly.

I wore that damn mask religiously, everywhere, out of respect for the guidance and because I had no wish to catch Covid. Even doubled up on flights around the country. Had the cleanest hands ever from using my handy alcohol spray plus all the public stations. Despite this I still caught Covid and I didn't even realise I had it for at least 3 days. Very mild and there was me with "underlying conditions" being nice and compliant. Didn't wear the damn for 3 weeks in London with all the crowds, underground, shops restaurants etc  ..... and nada, nothing. Now the rule is very simple if the person I am with/talking to chooses not to wear one, neither do I. Make it a choice.

Since you already caught Covid before your trip back to UK you wouldn't have causht it as your imunity was high from previous infection and shots if you had them,

I will wear on SkyTrain, taxi, in 7--11, Family Mart , gym and  probably malls.  Not out jogging, riding bikes or sitting on beach unless really crowded.

not worth my time to answer, @Jingthing did a great job.... by any chance are you from California ????

under consideration for ignored list   555

Been to many US states but not California. I simply sent the 2nd article which was from the LA TIMES since you dismissed the 1st article I posted because it was from " Fox News ". Fox simply reprinted the article from the La Times except they abreviated it somewhat. I don't dismiss  reports from Fox,CNN, Yahoo because they are usually only rehashing/reporting news from other more respected sources, not makimg up their own.

I don't when the water leaves the water plant it is excellent water, buy the time it gets to your place who knows what pipes it goes through, i have my doubts as to the up keep of the pipes, but i do now clean my teeth with it and still alive after a few years. but drink/cooking use bottled or get a filter

Cooking is usually not a problem as the heat will kill bacteria but drinking is another story.

On visits here from US I and friends came down with diarhea at various time/trips. Later drank bootled water or drinks with out  ice cubes. When I moved over here I drank the water  for a month and after  my stomach  got used to local bacteria never had a problem again. We have filters on any faucets we drink water from  as there is sediment in the water as well as metals/minerals which would not be affected by boiling.

Friend came over 2 weeks ago with his Thai wife but son who has never been here. Son ended up in the hospital with severe diarhea from drinking reg water and drinks with unfilterd ice cubes.

    "Allegedly".

The Bangkok Post reports that a student counsellor advised her to change schools, as her mother wanted and move from Satri Phatthalung School in Phatthalung province to a school near her home in Songkhla province, because of the family's financial problems.

If that is true, advice to change schools (because of financial difficulties and the mother's wishes) is not expulsion.

A teacher telling a student not to come back to the school because of missing 1st day and not paying school fees is expulsion.  Telling her what alternatives she had doesn't excuse  the fact she was told not to come back, alegedly.

Tijuana is a very dangerous city.

    So is East St. Louis.

Easy frequent driving cross border is only if you're living in Northern Mexico.

Yes in general cost of living is lower in Mexico than the U.S  but I was talking about Mexico compared to other typical budget expat options.  In which case Mexico is definitely not the cheapest. Of course as anywhere it matters exactly where in any country. San Cristobal de las Casas would be quite cheap relative to Puerto Vallarta or a high end neighborhood in Monterrey. Picking expat destinations is not a one size fits all situation.

Travelers to Mexico now see state-specific travel warnings from the US government

Hmm, is that why I see them arriving at 5.30am in new cars...

In any case, If the vendor tells me the 'real' price before I sit down, and tells me that I have to pay extra if I want to sit longer than 10 minutes, then I'm all fine with that.  I can then decide whether or not to accept their offer.  But I have zero time for 'sneakiness', regardless of how little the sum involved is ????

My daily expenditure is 100 baht for the coconut drink....  That is 100 baht more than the vendors get if they <deleted> me off by lying to me.

I thought you moved to Laos to get away from all the problems in Thailand. What brings you back?

    Thanks for the reply..
She was banned for 3 years for overstaying... She was never caught and paid the 20,000 THB upon leaving Suvarnabhumi Airport last year.
She had the idea to legally change her name and get a valid new passport.

She is hoping to try coming back to Thailand for a 30 day holiday (and nothing more).

And, she said she is prepared to fly to Cambodia or neighbouring country to land-cross into Thailand (if that makes the process easier).

Her main worry is if the scanner (finger or face) will actually perform a full database check against all previously banned people from Thailand, therefore getting caught at the border trying to enter illegally.
If this happens, she doesnt mind getting denied entry; But obviously worries about being arrested and jailed.  I suppose she wont mind the latter if its just a few days waiting for admin and flight... But obviously she wont want any long-term detention time time.

I'm also wondering if she manages to Enter thailand, but gets caught Leaving Thailand!
It's possible that the finger-scan database may 'match' with her previous name during her 30 day visit and she may be 'red flagged' and caught trying to exit the country at the end of the holiday.
In that case, would they let her leave? or arrest her?

    * thanks for your previous comment.

So she is trying to return before  her time being banned is over. Been coming here for 22 years so here are a few examples. Guy was blacklisted  and a dual citizen . Came back and entered a land border and got stamped in on other nationality passport. Later was seen by Thai who knew him and was reported. Was arrested for Illegaly breaking Thai law by entering before his ban was over. Authorities told him " your passport was not banned --you are banned from entering" Doesn't matter the name or if  a different passport. Since they entered knowing they were not supposed to be in the country now they faced aditional charges of entering Thailand illegally.

There are scanners now at every land border and airport as far as I know. If managed to get in say scanners temporarily down I wouldnot think to chance leaving and hoping the scanners wouldbe broken again. Caught illegally entering after being baned might cost her some jail time and 10 year ban.

Nice. And my 88 year old mother ? Is there a fix for that too ?

Thanks for the advice , I know you meant well .

But whether or not I outlive my wife , my mother depends on me to be there when she can't manage alone.

Our life here has already taken a drastic change when my wifes mother ( similar age ) lost the use of her legs 3 months ago. She now needs 24 hour care split between my wife and her sister next door.

These things often happen a bit faster than was supposed.

My fix was for your property situation  and is still viable. With those safeguards in place  even if wife died early and/or you left to take care of your mom when  your mom eventually passes you could still return to the home in Thailand. Even rent it out while you were away

If it were up to me I would continue living here in the boonies at the edge of the village overlooking rice fields and a high ridge. No issues with non grasping relatives and lots of friendly people to chat to.

But its not up to me. As I understand , although I can inherit the house I cant keep it since foreigners not allowed to own the land. I believe I would have a 1 year grace period to sell up and move on.

Secondly, my ageing mother is 88 and should she be unable to take care of herself I will have to leave Thailand to take care of her.

The future holds some unhappy times so try to enjoy every precious day.

You are incorrect. If youy get say a 30 year lease on the property from the wife you have the right to live there till the lease is over. If you get a Usufruct on the property you have the right to live there till you die. Warning a Usufruct can be overuled in a diviorce court.

Why do (some) grown and otherwise masculine men follow the feminine trait of wearing necklaces anyway? Do they somehow think it makes them look more sexy or attractive? I see quite a few guys getting around with the heavy gold necklaces, gold rings on the finger, covered in tatts and wearing a blue wife beater. Talk about stereotyping yourself as a redneck/bogan! And making yourself an easy target.

Redneck?   Every black  rapper, singer, sports star  , athlete, actor and general public wear gold chains . Remember  Mr. T. Lots of people wear gold but smart ones don't wear gold in public areas where crime is rampant especially because of the Covid economic conditions.
