More likelihood for Sudarat to step aside for Anutin than Prayut. Anutin exTRT banned for 5 years may have a bone to pick against the junta. He is close to Thaksin and also to the big guy on top. So far he kept his distance between Thaksin and Prayut wisely. Now that Newin the betrayal not the party chief, Anutin can set his own political course. He is already a very rich dude and money may not incentivize him but self esteem. I also think the 250 appointed senators can be “influenced” and may not vote on partisan line. Let’s see.

I hope he gets the defense minister portfolio if PTP and coalition form the government. Love to see him go after the military. He seem the real deal

Ain't you contradicting yourself? Lackeys seem a very harsh and derogatory word to describe those marginalize segment of the population who only want a better life. Thaksin gave them a better life. They have the independent thoughts to vote for PPRP and FFP because they believed the parties can live up to their promises and improve their lives. Both have promised much higher minimum wages etc.

Of course there will be no peace and they will never get their government when the establishment & military have a mission to create chaos to seize power and disrupt their peace.
They were much better off during Thaksin and YL tenures but not during the junta era. The inequality spike & claiming world’s inequality status was the give away.
But you wouldn’t know that as you live in Sukhumvit and I bet have not spent more than a day living in the province,

Does anyone know what the current status is of the election results as of now? I’m seriously having trouble getting the facts.
Full results will be announced this Friday. Was supposed to be done today but EC delayed the announcement. However under the election law, the official result will be completed within 60 days i.e sometime in May. By then the EC will complete investigation of all complaints and issue red and yellow cards. That will be the official result that will be royally gazette.

I think I left out their chief and ex-monk who lost his seat in Surat Thani to drum roll Dem. Also that People Reform Party of ex-PDRC leaders lost all seats. Sweet karma to snakes and cobras.

Tough decisions to make, Thaksin will offer him money and Prayut will promise him that he wont have electrodes attached to his genitals.
Really not that tough a decision for BJT to join PPRP and save his genitals from harm. After all, BJT was created to represent the military's electoral interests back in 2007. They are beholden to the military.

More reasons to be suspicious as the EC again delay announcing the election results. Should be yesterday, then today at 2 and now Friday. A typical Prayut's style of promise and postponement.

Chuan should realize now that he has been stab in the back by the military that his party supported for past years. He should also realized that it’s folly to trust the military over the people.

Pot black kettle comes to mind. Warong should self reflect. He lost to FFP and still has not figure out why.

i don’t care about the government or what happens I just want some excitement.
So what’s the bottom line? Will we get some excitement from this? Obviously a coup would be the most exciting and what I am hoping for.
My 2 cents worth of prediction then.
PTP coalition goes for a no confidence vote of Prayut. They get it via majority.
Government in chaos. Suthep warned to stay out. No demonstrations on streets. UDD dealt a lesson not to be on the streets and will not appear.
Prayut cant bring in military as an excuse because he is not army chief and has no direct command.
Someone will I’ll step in and mediate a solution. Prayut is dispensed for a civilian PM. That someone will gained goodwill and respect he craved from the people.

119 (PP)+52 BJT and 55 democrat = 226
If they can persuade the smaller parties then they could just about make it. (would still be hard i think so many parties but it happens in my country)
PTP 135 + 86 FF + 52 BJT = 273 .. so yes parliament will work.. PM wont work
Just stupid that the senators can vote for the PM. totally stupid rule.
What i wonder is if FF goes in a coalition with PTP and BJT will they accept all the corruption that comes with it or will they be strong enough to blow it up when it gets too bad.
Things will be clearer after the EC count the votes at 2pm.
PTP 135 seats not including party list. My source said that the party likely to win up to 163 seats combined. So parliament majority quite realistic.
Most of PTP and FFP campaign policies were quite similar. I have yet to hear Thanathorn spoke on corruption policies. Think he will accept with reasonable restrain on some corruption nuances. IMO their anti military stance is foremost and dominate their support of the coalition.

Lets hope not, but if they do would that not mean a new election ? How would they calculate it.
Anyway I looked at coalitions and for both the PTP and Palang Pracharat it will be real hard to get a large enough majority.
Your reply to Sjaak is what I am referring to. No chance for government but a toss for Parliament. If FFP win more than 80 seats and with PTP/other like minded parties 160-170, they will take Parliament.
The computation for Palang Pracharat and possible Dem, BJT and ACT will not make 250. FFP really throw a spanner into the computation plus the Dem losing so many seats.

This is Thailand, of course they can ...... and have done so before.
you are naive if you think previous governments here have not used what would be considered neutral authorities elsewhere to gain an advantage over their political opponents.
Make dubious directives to the police, exert influence over the judicial system, twist the arms of the Constitutional Court, lean on the media, use the DSI to harass your opponents, etc etc.
All run of the mill stuff in Thai politics !
IMHO the Future Forward Party might be a breath of fresh air, but they might turn out to be more of the same.
Apparently you avoided answering my question and insert your own inscrutable diversion and hope to make us believe that the judiciary is in the hands of politicians and not the establishment. That in spite of political parties not aligned to the establishment have been disbanded and executives banned while those aligned were spared. You really don;t have a strong case.

Get over it Khun Sudarat. You not going to form the government. The military has been plotting and preventing your party from forming the government since 2001. It’s their mission and they have failed previous attempts and can’t fail this time. All the barriers in placed and nothing can stop that tinpot ex-general to become the next PM. He has worked so hard to fool the people that he is benevolent and someone who is in touch with the people. So just be a viable opposition in parliament and develope your own persona and peel off your reliance on Thaksin,

Done all that long time ago and have my spelling checked but still came to the same conclusion that this election was gifted to Prayut by fraudulent means and massive vote buying. You are slow off the blocks.

You saved Thailand again, and next generations will never forget your sacrifice for the sovereignty of Thailand. Buddha save you and H. M. The King.
You think he will win if this is a free and fair election? He was gifted the election thru fraudulent laws, crony election agency, pre election campaigning for last 5 years and buying votes with populist policies using tax payer money.
