  2. Are you the legal father of your child by way of marriage or legitimization? If not all you can get is a single entry non-o visa and a 60 day extension at immigration. See::How To Gain Parental Rights As A Father

If you are the legal father you can get a one year extension of stay based upon being the parent of a Thai. You would need 400k baht in a Thai bank in your name only or 40k baht income.

You can also get a multiple entry non-o visa at some embassies and consulates. At Savannakhet you could get one but you need your child and their mother with you to prove you are living together as a family (defacto marriage).

I'm the legal father, my daughter born in Chiang Mai, and declared there too.

I've the born paper with me.

the one year thing is interesting, but still need 400k in the bank, or 40k per month, I won't get this...

Your name on the birth certificate does not make you the legal father for visa and immigration purposes unless you were married to your child's mother either before or after their birth. If not you need to legitimize your parenthood to meet the requirements.

If you cannot meet the financial requirements then the multiple entry non-o visa is your only option.

not so long ago, being a father with officials papers were enough....

as we are not married, it's gonna be either a real ordeal, or non-O, hoping that like before, I can stay at least 5/6 months before visa trip to Vientiane....

anyway, retirement time would be for 2018/2019, so I have time and for sure some regulations can change again....

let's be positive, I'll do it!

  4. There are no new regulations !

What exactly are you seeking to achieve ?

A more detailed description of your circumstances and finances would permit better advice.

I've seen those, but still can get to cop with this money in the bank...

I'm gonna be retired in years, I'll get something like a rough 32.000B/month

no way to save any before to come back...

I might have a few thousands Euros safe, that's all.

I know where to stay ;) ... have a house close to Yasothon.

I've beeen living here for a while (some ten years..)

the only thing that worry me is the type of visa, the non-O multiple entry,

that's what I had when living here, the retirement visa is out of reach for me.

  5. hi' all

as stated, I'll be ready for retirement, I don't meet the 800.000B in the bank...

best I can do is get a non-immigrant non-O, and probably later ask for a longer extension....

I'm French, 56 years old, have a child born in Thailand (with all papers)

I'm a bit lost with all these new regulations, the non-O is ok, 90 days and trip to Vientiane, then back home...

I've a family house in a small village near Yasothon.

what would be the possibilities to get something more appropriate to me,

    I didn't mention but I have a light handicap, can't do all things, not in a wheel-chair! wink.png

I hope that I've been clear enough wink.png

    thanks for help

    cheers

A very sad news cam to me on Sunday...

P'Nu from Blue Sky Bar is gone... RIP

as she knew most of the expats mentionned down here...

we may consider her as a friend, at least for me, she had always been a good friend of a lot of guys mentionned here, helping each-other from time to time...

I feel very sad, as it a large part of my life which is gone for ever... life!

guys who could say thanks and good bye are for most of them part of this topic...

    I'll never forget...

The petite, very pleasant middle aged lady with impressive gray hair, yes?

Oh heck. Unfailingly pleasant with a very good memory for names, faces and favourite drinks. An excellent hostess in every way.

She's gone far too soon. RIP.

(I think you meant April 29).

yop, sorry, time.... of course April, it doesn't change a thing anyway ;)..

    we'll miss her dearly :(

  8. hi'

it sounds like a harware failure here or about to happen ...

compatibility isses are not to talk about with cd's as they are fully compatible with all harware on the market due to their standard.

    a dvd-rw or a cd-rw works fine or not!

can always try to update the firmware, but I doubt that will solve the problem ....

  9. hi'

I'm testing Mandriva 2008.0 powerpack ... so far so good :D

  10. learning this makes me sad :o

  11. hi'

    my 2cts worth here ...

I have hepatitis C since 13 years now ... no fun at all :bah:

this sh** washed out the hepatitis B vaccine and the doctors said that I must have

contracted one without knowing ... and it appeared to be true :bah:

I was nearly alone for years ... common medications, no improvement, blood analysis up and down.

and then I was in Thailand for a few years, nearly ran to see a Chinese Doctor :o

I went to Mangkala clinic(Chiang Mai), and within 6 months my blood analysis went back to normal, just as a teenager :D

since this treatment, everything is a lot better.

still avoid to drink alcohol, eat not too fat, and use only olive oil to cook.

drink some green tea and life ain't this bad :D

so, my adivice is, go to see a serious Chinese Doctor (ask about before, if a lot of Thai's go, you can go) ...

it's cheap and work wonderfuly on this disease :D

and if you have a good immune system you might get the chance to be ummunized by the way :D

  12. hi'

don't forget to add ext driver for your printer under windoze, without them, it's impossible to print from Linux to the distant printer :o

and use a software for your file sharing to protect your com port :D

  13. hi'

I'm suprised that no one thought about phishing ...

and it looks like to be the case, if so everyone is concerned, and pay attention to atm machines, type your digits well hidden,

some use a camera to get code numbers, another go take the ticket you almost forget everytime, and there you are, done!

banks in Thailand aren't worse than anywhere else, but dare to go on phishing those is pretty mindless ...

this mean also, that IT security in Thai banks is not so up to date ... do they have someone who takes care of this?

  14. hi'

:o but Thaitle exists since long before unbutu had a name ...

so, they may have mix some portion of code but is it what we can call "based on"?

Linuxtle had been develloped by Thai's since long ago, and code inserts doesn't change the ownership

    of the idea :D

    francois

ps; just remember to see LinuxTle in early 99 ... :D

  15. hi'

yop, me too, bitdefender needs a patch :D

    lucky kerio is fine...

but too many updates to make, they could have at least check a bit more ...

deamon tools isn't compatible, I wonder why? :o

    francois

ps; and my XP works fine :D

    thanks bill :D :D
