I recently download Vista transformation pack, version 5.5,

it makes Xp looks like vista with the same aero interface, it looks like,

it's nice to use, you can give it a try, the uninstall is efficient, if you don't like it you can uninstall it and find your "normal" XP back

when you install it, check the "glass theme" if you want aero, be aware that it requires a video with at least 128mb ram, it changes some system files, so you'll get a windows warning before to finish the install, wait a little time before to answer that you want to keeep the new files, and click on finish, reboot and watch

the boot is a bit slower due to the the load of the vista skin ...

it's a nice change, you may like it

I recently tested the next firefox which is called "minefield", it picks up everything form your current firefox, included bookmarks and preferences,

it's pretty fast, but the update is quite transparent, nothing really fancy

you can keep you current firefox as normal.

no one will be surprised by any options, and it's running ok, so far "no major bug", as I reported

type in "run" chkdsk /F, then windows will tell you that it can be done on next reboot, say yes, and reboot, the /F option is here to permit read/write permission, otherway, if no options, it will be done in reaad only, so you light get result, but no change made

it does look like that free antivirus aren't able to stop any real bad attack, as the windows firewall neither ...

recently, one of my customer's machine was completly down, C drive erased and a srange partition of 40mb on front ...

avg was there up to date and windows firewall too ... nuked!!

had to delete the 2 first partition in order to get only one C Drive!

and re-install everything

be aware that avg or avast are free, but surely not as efficient as others,

and there is nothing commercial in there, just if you like you buy the "full" version so called pro.

I paid for BitDefender 9.5 and will never look back

it seems to me that one was aware of vista hunger of ram and speed ...

nothing less than P4 3ghz or similar in AMD collection, the best would be Coreduo, and a Video Card of 256mb ram, nothing less than 1gb ram on board, with these settings, vista and aero would work alright ...

you want vista? upgrade your machine!

& if u say dat u dnt mind installin windows again ... then i wud recommend dat u do...XP is the easiet to install...it is very user friendly & only asks u limited options...most of the installing is dun by itself...this time wen installin windows XP jus wait there lookin at the screen & read & select the rite options dat u require...(they are jus normal qts...if english makes sense to you den u wnt hv a problem at all.)

re-install xp on the same drive where xp wee should have give youa warning

on the install start ...

bypass it and you have 2 windows in one with most of program which refuse to work properly ...

NEVER re-install windows, repait it!

good luck .... format C drive ahead, think aboout saving bookmarks and all folders you may use, as outlook settings, if you use this soft for mail ...*

imho ... you should go to visit a Chinese Doctor(not too young )

and find out where this pain is from, you need to find out the origin of it.

waiting for this you may try ibruprophen, it's a molecule, sold originaly under the name of nurofen, you may take up to 3 x 2 pills or 3x1 pill, be aware that it comes in 2 forms, the 200mg pills and the 400mg one, the max amount in a day is 1200mg, and at this stage this medication acts as an anti inflamatory as well, it's non addictive and works well,

in Hospital, in ER we used to give up to 600 or even 800mg for the first take to be sure to kill the pain away ....

no real danger, and commonly used now and sold under many other names,

but to be sure ask for nurofen

but, see a doctor, it could be more serious that what you may think,

chronical arthritis , or a form of it that gives unbearable pain ...

or anything else that I don't mention, the list would be far too long

before to make the change, get the uninstall program from symantec site as

if you uninstall yourself through control panel/uninstall soft, it it will leave a lot of keys everywhere in the registry

and then after reboot, you can install anyother antivirus, I wanted to say that BitDefender has a free version too

did you check your Samba status, the network group name of all machines?

did you allow a outgoing ping inside the network?

the problem seems to come from Samba, it has to be well configured.

take a look at the help for samba inside the samba folder

• Now that you mention it, I think I did have Internet acess prior to my attempt to set up Samba. I followed an online tutorial to do that. What settings could be causing this type of problem?

it looks like that you Linux box cannot communicate with the routeur or the switch ...

should be quite easy, change network cables for a brand new one and see if

one forgot to mention that for forwarding, one needs a static IP at least in the internet connection settings, just have to be out of the dhcp range

I had been drinking alone or with mates for years, until get to high level,

tequilla (1 bottle alone didn't knocked me down), and Mezcal or old n°7,

when I realized that I could not go on like this any longer.

so I decided to stop one night alone in my place drink the last glass of tequilla and said goodbye.

I was not what we could call an addicted person, but I was so well when drunk,

the way was only avoid drinking places for a few weeks and drink a load of water, sleep wasn't so good the first 3 or 4 weeks and then it got better and better.(somme greeneries helped a bit )

and one day, felt so sick that I went to see a doc!

blood analysis, and so on ...

got out with an hepatitis C ... life changed and not drinking a drop was in order for health, so it gave me one more good reason to stop for good, this was 12 years ago, and still going on

I then choose to visit a chinese doctor who helped me a lot for my liver functions, and now my blood analysis are fine

the damages done to my liver are here forever, and the side effects too,

but life insn't so bad.

I consider myself a bit lucky on that shot

due to hepatitis C, I stop to drink 12 years ago

and going to be 13 on next january

the funny thing is that I decided to stop before this sh1t was detected

so when the doc said that I should slow down on drink or stop for good, I simply answered that's already done

and still happy to stay away from tequilla and mezcal

and I can say after 3 or 4 years it became an habit to say NO thanks

and the best of it, is that you drink juice , water or whatever without alcohol in, and you feel lighter, and sincerely 2 liters of water a day is nice for health
