I've checked my cable and the central post on one side is loose. This is the cable that came with the amp. Can any one recommend a quality guitar-to-amp cable?

I think I'll just check the malls and see if I can find something comparable. The online option with customs and duties is just a pain in the pattootie.

You're over my head. I don't understand that. I thing at the end of the day I'm going to purchase new equipment. I've been play this guitar and amp for four months now - so I see the issues with both guitar and amp. So I'm planning to upgrade and give this set to my son. But - I still need to know what to look for in a new guitar and amp.

I unpluged the lead from the guitar, i.e., the lead is attached to the amp and my finger is on the lead and I feel a "tingle." However, I also noticed the central post moves (that's odd). How can that be the guitar. The guitar is sitting on the bed with no connection to me? If I connect the lead to the guitar an touch it - there is no power.

Feels like wood covered with some kind of covering.

The bottom line is I'm getting shocked. I shouldn't be.

So, are there a few tens of thousands rich people willing to come to Thailand to make up for the millions of common foreigners that the Thai government no longer wants????? Like the people coming to Thailand for nightlife and fun which the head of the TAT has promised is the "Old Normal" that Thailand and Thai elitists no longer want to enter their private reserves of New Normal? "The Rich For The Rich" "New Normal" = No Fun Rich husks for the common scum. So the answer? No! They won't even attract the rich and wealthy that they prefer and they signal to the average folk that their not wanted at all.

I started playing guitar in late June. I didn't know anything, so I bought an electric and an amplifier online without knowing anything. Now? I'm finding the flaws in that logic - but heck - how do you Know until you Know??? So 4 months later and a lot of practice and I'm finding the flaws in my original purchase decision. My primary concern at the moment is my guitar amp which very obviously IS NOT grounded. It's a two-terminal plug. My home is wired with ground. But? Doesn't do me a lot of good with a two-terminal amp plug with no ground lead. Needless to say my strings are 'zapping' me. Not fun. Shy of buying new (and better equipment) I'm not sure if there is a fix. Inside wiring in only a black and red lead. (see picture). It looks like there is a center ground pole that isn't soldered to a ground wire - but I ain't an electrician. Of course, I may have just found an excuse to upgrade. I've bought so little "stuff" for myself in my lifetime. I'm always taking care of others while neglecting myself. But I've found something - electric guitar - that I'm now practicing 4+ hours a day as it just simply fills in all that 'retirement' time I've got on my hands. So perhaps the easy solution is - buy a well grounded practice amp. But still - in the meanwhile??? Mods you can toss this into a Music thread if AsianNow has a thread like that. I didn't see one offhand. Do you have a Music thread? Maybe it's time to start one?

I talked to the wife today about that. Maybe Robinsons? (I think that's the name of a high-end store). I'm not a mall shopper. But there are some places in CM that sell 'farang sized' stuff. There use to be a place up on Huay Kaow Rd but it's been a lot of years since I shopped there.

I looked on Lazada but the only "Hanes" items I see are the type of underwear which are made for No-Butt Thai guys who weight 70kg or less. These are the typical types of underwear you can find everywhere. Unfortunately, it's like packing a cucumber into a bag designed for a string bean. And Iike I said - I wear Hanes Comfort Fit medium underwear. Lazada won't work. Been there - seen that. But, I appreciate the reply.

I prefer to wear Hanes Comfort Fit underwear because, well, they fit and they are comfortable. I usually have friends bring stuff like that over from the US, but with Covid - I doubt those friends will be coming here any longer as they are exactly the kind that TAT head Yuthasak says he doesn't want. I simply can't wear Thai made underwear even though I only wear Medium sizes that are sold in the US. I tried to order some from Amazon. Plugged all the location info in and got shipping prices but when I attempted to order - (as usual) No Ship To Thailand. So, is there any place in CM that sells farang sized Hanes (Comfort Fit if I can get them) or has anyone had success buying them from an online retailer other than Amazon?

And yet according to both my ears and my headstock tuner - here I am defying the Laws of Physics. Which is why I'm at a loss. So I'll keep looking for someone with the tools and experience to check it out. At this point I'd say it's beyond my ability to fix. Thanks for the input though. Appreciated.

@KannikaPI've adjusted the saddles so intonation is correct on the 12th fret. However here's where it gets flaky. Fretted notes on frets 1 though 7 are distinctly sharp according to both my headstock tuner and my ears. The sharpest notes are on the fretted 1st fret and as I work up the neck (fret 1 to 7) the notes become less sharp. From frets 7 to 12 things appear in tune. I've done some reading an a lot of what I've read entails adjustments to the nut or the frets themselves. It's an odd problem but not uncommon from reading about these issues on the Internet. I'm not planning to put much money into any repair. It's my first electric, for all I know it's a knock-off, and if it sounds slightly off on the upper frets I can live with it. What I'm actually learning with this Epiphone Les Paul is - what do I really want to understand when I buy my next guitar. With the next one if I can't get it setup correctly I won't buy it. That was the downside of buying my first guitar online. I was flying blind. Now I'm not. The other issue with the Epi LP is neck dive. The is no real 'horn' on the guitar and the upper strap button sits at the 16th fret. The guitar always feels as its pulling against that strap button and I can't get comfortable in the standing position. And a can see as a lot of guitars with an upper horn have the upper strap button at the 12th fret. Which makes sense as I can see that would eliminate the pull. That will be something else I'll be looking at in a new guitar. Perhaps after a full year of playing when my technique improves I will probably look for a better axe. In the meanwhile if the intonation problem is a simple fix cool. If not then I can still learn on it the way it's set up. Still looking for an English speaker in Chiang Mai who can check out the setup. If you have any insight on the intonation issue on the upper frets let me know. ????
