You will soon forget about the fee. As you have forgotten about the fee we pay for flying into Thailand along with the fee we pay for flying out .
Both these fees are also included in the flight ticket price.

MJ is right. I got one at DM last week at 05.45 before the Hanoi plane. Friend got one this week at Swampy. Seems to be no problem now with either. Better than being Number 176 in the seats at Immig.
Off topic: Can the 90 day reporting REALLY be done at 7-11, or is that a hoax?
"Off topic: Can the 90 day reporting REALLY be done at 7-11, or is that a hoax?"
That was a Thai Visa April Fools' Day joke.
And you can't get Mama's noodles at immigrations either.
It is unbelievable the amount of people that have fell for that and still talking about it four months later.
Has to be the longest running April fools joke ever.

What I do is book into a room for 1 or 2 nights then check the rest of them out.
The area is quiet right now so if you are going soon you will have plenty of choice .
There is plenty of bars that have a few rooms above them
Look out for the room to rent signs .
You will have no problem getting a room within your budget.
R con has cold Chang 45 baht
It's thirsty work finding a room

I was at Bangkok Bank, main office at Silom and they will give me an account. Im on an extension of a visa exempt. They just want me to get a certified copy of my passport from my embassy.
They even have premade papers printed and put near the door to pickup where every reqirement is listed.
I make a scan later and post it here. But basically there is written that:
1. Farangs with worpermit need passport and workpermit (no copy) to show.
2. Farangs without workpermit (Tourists), on Non-O or Visa on arrival or exempt need either one of the following
a. certified copy of passport
b. letter of recommendation from either embassy or a known Thai-based company
Like said, this is the paper they give me after turning me down, i didnt have the passport copy with me. Then they handed me this paper and said if i come back with certified copy they open my account.
Good luck
Do you know what they will accept for proof of address ?

I suppose we would not want any open and free discussions and/or debates now would we?They both need to stop (or be stopped) or this will become unmanageable very very quickly.
Never had them before, Only had anarchy

Large room
Old but clean
Old tv but has lots of English channels
Wifi is not free 50 baht a day
Or weekly and monthly package.
It is basic but for the money and location it is good value
They also have a promotion for weekly stays
If you are staying a few nights check the rooms out first. There maybe updated rooms available.

Biscuits and gravy for breakfast? That sounds pretty gross.
Not the cheapest but definitely one of the best.Pastrami on Rye is offering excellent "American" breakfast items at a very competitive price. For example, two fried eggs, biscuits and gravy w/ coffee/tea is only about 120 baht. And they make the best eggs in town (no question about that IMHO). In addition to many standard breakfast items (e.g. pancakes, omelettes, etc), they also have New York style bagels.
A good deal is not only about being cheap.

Why ? What's wrong with rich tea and bisto

I'm pretty sure the rcon does a monthly rate around that. There is also a fairly new hotel that has been opened by rcon, if your looking out from the rcon facing down soi buakhao it's the small soi on the left with the ice making shop. I stayed there about six months ago and everything was new and clean. The daily rate was the same as rcon so I imagine the monthly is similar. Hope this helps
Stayed in the R con last week
650 a night
10,000 a month

Why buy DVD's when you can download movies for free?Buy Dvd's that you can change language and subtitles on
My reason.
At 40 baht a movie saves a lot of hassle.
Never had a problem with them, Can order any movie have it next day.
When finished with them I pass them on
Others seem to enjoy them as well .
If downloading suits you then stick with it.
I was only offering another option.

Hundreds in five pick up trucks?
When they stopped at the police station the kids jumped out and ran away.
Great work by our heroes in brown.
They did not even get them to the police station.
The kids run away when they seen the pick ups coming.
