My wife has bought them before for not much (around 200 baht), but I thought that was on sale at Robinson's. Either they had a different version that didn't cost 1000 baht or else it hadn't been there.
They have a nice version at Ikea, more in the range of 500 baht (359 for a smaller one, 499 for a larger version):

Kind of off the subject but I use them to make loose tea, not coffee.
Yes I have seen them at Robinsons in Bangrak there was plenty of them

Cant i just tell them that we are going to spend like 4 days in cambodia if we get any struggle to fly?
Why
Why can't you just get a tourist visa
And save yourselves all the hassle

Could be big trouble - don't do it. Not allowed to take Buddha images out of the country.
You can take out as many as you want
As long as you have a permit for each one
1000 baht a permit

You can still get a Multiple Entry Non 'O' via the Embassy in London which can be applied for by post. My guess is that the consulates have abused their power and issued too many ME visas, and have had that privilege taken away. There's no reason why that should have a knock on effect to Savannakhet.

This is a sensitive time in Thailand
The nation is in mourning.
But people coming on holiday to a beach resort ... surely some tolerance goes a long way.
Beach ?

I don't see as it matters they still recognized & valid by the UK.
Yes that is the point.
The British embassy do not need to issue certificates you already have
-
They don't issue you a marriage certificate if you get married in Thailand
Why should they issue death certificate.
Register a death is on the website gives you all the options you need
looks very straight forward
No need to panic

Treat them mean and keep them keen policy is working a treat

My experience is mail seems to depart from the airport every 10 - 14 days
but it does not always go direct to the UK and may be held at the next airport
Posting in Bangkok the tracking shows it is processed and ready to leave the same day
It is just luck whether there is a flight ready for it or not
when it arrives in the UK it is delivered in 2 - 3 days.
I have had mail take anywhere between 3 - 30 days

Sorry to drag up an old post, but seems like the post has possibly reverted to having the same issues as the beginning of the year.
Is anyone else having any issues sending items to the U.K. once again?
How long have you been waiting this time

You extend your permission to stay not the visa
you can get the 30 day extension
check the requirements need photo, copies of passport pages
application form TM7 and 1900 baht
-
More evidence that possession of a valid visa is not the sacrosanct guarantee that some keep insisting it is... When it comes to foreigners anymore, EVERYTHNG is on the table.
There is a difference between the correct visa
and a valid visa.
A tourist visa is not for someone who is spending most of their time living in Thailand-

Thanks for all the helpful replies which tell me things I already know.
What I asked was how long it would take to drive from Victory Monument to Ekkamai at 5pm.
I ask because apparently the government are arranging a shuttle bus to do exactly that.
Anybody who decides to take that journey deserves the pleasures it will bring
-
How on earth is this going to reduce traffic at Victory Monument!?
Instead of getting on a Minivan to go to - say - Rayong now a commuter has to get on a Shuttle Bus at VM to get to Morchit, then get in the Minivan.
So instead of the Minivans causing congestion at Victory Monument there will be scores of Shuttle Buses causing congestion there.
I really wonder sometimes at the idiocy of these "planners"!
Patrick
.
Normal people will not go to Victory monument if they Know the vans will not be there
The shuttle busses will benefit people who are local to Victory monument and those who did know that they had moved

Visa on arrival is not for 30 days
