  1. Hi,

my goto place (Quickcarwash) for the last 3 years has closed its business in Pattaya.

Does anyone know a decent place to get your car washed in Pattaya?

I'm not looking for the blokes who are doing it for 100 Baht and make more scratches then cleaning nor the crazy expensive ones for 600+ Baht.

Some good quality cleaning for around 300 Baht would be fine.

Depending on the grout width, and your pocket, you can buy a diamond degrouting tool, or use a diamond blade on an oscillating tool  with a diamond blade. It is possible to use an angle grinder but that gives a high chance of damaging the tiles.

    100% correct

I had some guy doing this on one of my balcony with the angle grinder and it looks like a mess.

For regrouting my swimmingpool i bought an oscillating tool from Bosch (because of the better quaity Blades) and done it by myself.

Its mutch easier to handle but I also slipped sometimes when I gone to far.

In my opinion the oscillating tool is the only way to go and be carefull and take your time if you want a nice job.

  3. my problem is that the combined chlorine is off the chart from my teststrips (highest level 500ppm)

I would need to raise the chlorine level to at least 5000 ppm to break up the combined chlorine - I think impossible

drain and refill is also not an option at the moment because we have extreme Watershortage in our area

Only way to go is a chlorine free shock in my opinion.

It is quite possible that that the sodium bicarbonate sold by pool stores has been purchased in bulk, which on investigation works out much more economical than purchasing supermarket sachets in quantities more adapted for kitchen use

1kg bag of Backing Soda (sodium bicarbonate) at Big C is 70 Baht

Never seen any Pool shop who can beat this price even in higher quantities.

The EP does have a pressure tank, Mitsubishi call it an accumulator. It’s No. 43 in the picture under.6844E20E-D20E-4192-BFE5-CD6D147F3B4F.thumb.jpeg.2cd98b28e591358eb62d8edec6d88a72.jpeg

both types should have the spring removed for sucking from under their level.

I think both series have the same stile of pump and the difference is only the pressure tank part of the whole unit.

So then it would make sense to remove the spring on the WP-series too.

But maybe I'm wrong and someone will correct me?

  6. I bought a new EP-305 pump today and in the manual there is a point that say (if I understand it correctly) that for underground Tanks you have to remove the spring in the Valve.

Can anyone confirm if I'm right in my understanding?

And if so what is the reason for it?

Asking because I have in the other House a WP-255 pump also connected to an underground Tank and the spring is still in there.

    thanks

I have a system installed at our property whereby I have an app on my phone. I click the relevant button and the gate or garage door opens. It does it using the Bluetooth connection from my phone - no internet connection is needed.

I know I was the first person in Thailand with this because the app wasn't available to download in Thailand. I had to get the developer to enable Thailand for download purposes.

Very simple to install. It needs mains power and then there are 2 wires to connect inside the gate/garage door opener. These wires connect to the same place as the wall switch you use to open the gate/door.

Each opener can have up to 8 phones paired to it. Your phone can have virtually unlimited devices paired to it.

It's a good system. The only slight drawback is that the tint on the front windscreen can sometimes block the signal from your phone.

    Hi,

whats the name of this system?

  8. I think Panasonic anounced such a system over ethernet for their top of the range models couple of years ago.

You just nee to connect 1 TV to the Antenna/Cablenetwork/satellite Dish and all other TV's on the same network get the channels over ethernet.

I don't know if they still have this feature and if yes if it's trickeld down to the cheaper TV's.

You have to do some research on that.

Could you explain? Your home country insists on you using Truemove H?

I'm not sure of the procedure for taking your number to a new network and if AIS or DTAC will recognise a ported number as a new SIM. I know Truemove H will.

It's my Bank in my home country who insists to use Truemove H.

I had DTAC before and the messages from my bank didn't came through.

After a call with the support of my bank and the switch to Truemove H everything is fine.

So I need to stick with True and don't want to change my number.

  10. Hello,

I have a Surgeguard SR-8 to give my HiFi and TV a bit more protection.

For the last 3 days I noticed that the "Fault Wiring" LED is flashing all day long and since yesterday it's constant on.

Before it was flashing only when some worker with old powertools where around the house.

I took my small socket tester what i bought 3 months ago to check all the sockets in the house (everything was fine then) and got a reading for "Live/GRD reverse, missing GRD"

    IMG_20200106_133231.thumb.jpg.16d04d5eadaa9ae75a95a6f67464d4b5.jpg

I measured the socket next to my breaker box and had L-GRD=160V and N-GRD=70V

There was no electrical work going on in the house for over a year.

All apliances in the house work just fine.

Has anyone (crossy) an idea what could be the problem?

Could it be that the soil under the house dried up because there was almost no rain for a long time in pattaya and it's now to dry to make a good ground?

    Kind regards
