Boris' proposal would essentially create two borders: a border for customs on the island of Ireland and a border to monitor EU single market rules on agricultural and food products between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK.

In other words, a right f^£€ing mess...

Obviously you have a higher IQ than Boris and co... That is unless "a right f^£€ing mess" is what they intended.

The court heard Vella also had a number of previous convictions include burglary, violence and indecent behaviour at a police station.

Mr Afzal, defending said: "Mr Vella is a young man who had made some poor decisions.

"He had his head in the sand (when he left). He has had to endure in the last two years a very terrible and frightening experience."

I think the poor decision was his fathers not using a...

The driver while driving has to look at the traffic in front of him. They would need cameras installed to watch the backside. There is a fine for standing on the platform - 2000 Baht. But this guy gets an even bigger fine - the hospital bill. Hope he recovers from this too...

As a driver myself I know you have to be aware of traffic behind and those pickups have rear view mirrors, something my van does not have.

but I assume for Thai driver the Rear View Mirror is just for hanging lucky amulets on.

  4. No CCTV at the hotel to get the bus number?

In an ideal world, standing passengers should not be allowed, if a passenger stands up the BB should slow and stop at the next stop to let them off and not move until all passengers are seated.

Fines for drivers who ignore the above and fines for passengers monkeying about on the back of a BB.

As pointed out the passenger is in a serious condition as it looks like the medical team were doing CPR.

In another twist (of the thumb screws) over the pond the Director General of the BBC reverses a decision up holding a complaint about BBC breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty who has a lovely tan...

This followed trumps racist tweets on the Democrat politicians Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib.

The comments were discussed on BBC Breakfast on 17 July, where Munchetty said: "Every time I have been told, as a woman of colour, to go back to where I came from, that was embedded in racism.

"Now I'm not accusing anyone of anything here, but you know what certain phrases mean."

Her co-presenter Dan Walker said that "it feels like a thought-out strategy to strengthen his position" to which she replied: "And it is not enough to do it just to get attention. He's in a responsible position. Anyway I'm not here to give my opinion."

Getting refunds from who?  Cook is in bankruptcy and I didn't think they put aside any funds for refunds.  Is the British government putting up the money to re-imburse the travelers?

The money is coming from ATOL

ATOL - Protecting holidaymakers since 1973

The law says your holiday must be protected if it is a package holiday. ATOL (which stands for Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) is a UK financial protection scheme and it protects most air package holidays sold by travel businesses that are based in the UK.   The scheme also applies to some flight bookings, usually those where you book flights (including UK domestic flights) but do not receive your tickets immediately.

    https://www.caa.co.uk/ATOL-protection/Consumers/About-ATOL/

I suspect in the short term the Government may well need to loan ATOL funds to reimburse Thomas Cook customers as ATOL's piggy bank derived from a levy of £2.50 per customer of all the ATOL licenced Tour Operators will not be enough, the loan will probably be recovered by an increase in the levy and/or a one off surcharge on operators, but there is also the likelihood of some money being recovered from Thomas Cook.
