my understanding is, he applied for and got a yearly extension backdated as he had used the amnesty, he also did a 90 day address report, with a new report date of 17th November, nothing to do with a 90 day extension

arfandy you can only get a 60 day family extension once per entry, do not confuse a yearly extension with any other extension, during the amnesty.

Appearantly i can get a 90-day permit to visit spouse. I was adviced by Ubonjoe and i confirmed it back on April 2020 before lockdown happened.

I came here with 60 days Tourist Visa, then early April i went to Chaeng Wattana to extend it. Officer gave me two choices back then, to proceed with usual 30-day visa extension then after finish i can apply for 90-day permit to visit spouse OR ignore 30-day extension and proceed directly to 90-day spouse visitation permit.

I chose normal 30-day extension and one week after, first batch of visa amnesty was announced.

I would get in and get your yearly extension taken care of. Got mine and the 90 day report done today in Prathum Thani. Easy, less than 45 minutes for both.  The extension of stay is back dated to the original expiry date. In my case May 4th.  Why wait as something could always screw up? You do get the full 90 days. Mine will be Oct 17 by doing it today.

Are you saying that anyone who will apply for visa during grace period, their visa will start on the day of last expiration (before or during visa amnesty) and NOT the day it is applied?

  3. @ubonjoe do you think i can still be eligible for 90-day permit to visit spouse?

Before visa amnesty/lockdown took place, i posted a question if my 60-day tourist visa can be extended for 90-day. You replied me that i can apply for EITHER 30-day visa extension OR 90-day permit to visit spouse. I applied for 30-day tourist visa extension on early April 2020 then i think about a week later, the first visa amnesty took place (before it was again extended until July 31).

Overal, my current visa was already expired, hence my question, do you think i can still be eligible to apply for 90-day spouse visitation permit?

I honestly do not think i can re-re-extend my expired tourist visa and getting only 30 days for 1900 baht instead of 90 days for the same fee, i'd rather take the 90 days. I have all the necessary documents to apply for spouse visitation permit, pressumably nothing is changed at the immigration office.

  4. For those who think it's better to visit nearest immigration office and apply for visa extension before July 31, you might wanna wait and see the official government announcement.

Government is not stupid as to immediately waive visa amnesty and cause chaotic queues at immigration offices. They will have to fully open International airports or borders before recklessly stop visa amnesty.

Dont waste your 1900 baht for getting 30-day visa ahead of everybody just because you wanna avoid crazy queues.

Unlimited 4 Mbps & 10 Mbps promos are back.

200 baht per month for 4 Mbps

250 baht per month for 10 Mbps

Unlimited calls of 15 minutes duration for another 50 baht per month.

Where do you find these promos? My current DTAC app doesnt show such promos but still with usual 512Kbps unlimited for 300 baht sth.

I currently have two phone using the TRUE 10 MBPS unlimited....registering the SIM is only for the government...that's why I said to only bring the SIM in it's packaging to register. Install in your phone once you get home. There is no danger of losing your plan.

Not according to this vendor. He even sent me this step-by-step self registration for unlimited sim.

And really there is no point spending 1400 baht for a random number simcard, only to find out your free unlimited 12-cycle Internet plan has been reverted back to 1-month subscription Internet.

Thai customer service are not exactly helpful when foreigners ask for advices. They tend to throw their best-most expensive deal rather than ongoing value-for-money deal.

Buy the SIM card. It costs 50 baht or less. You already have DTAC, so maximum spend is 100 baht.

Seems more wise than spending 2000 baht on a SIM card only to find it performs horribly in your apartment. Coverage map won't help you there.

50 baht simcard but i have to subscribe for "unlimited" internet per month will cost me at least 350 baht per cycle. Wouldnt be better to buy 1400 baht simcard with unlimited 10Mbps for 12 cycles without the need to topup anything?

But yes, there is no way to find out if my place is blanketed by 4G signal of certain provider unless i test 'em all out.

If the vendor states register with him, register with him or buy from a vendor who states that it ok to register with a True service centre.

How did it jump from 10 Mbps to 100 Mbps? 1400 for 365 days of unlimited 100 Mbps data? No.

Take a breath, your posts are becoming increasingly ludicrous. ????

1400 baht is likely for 80 GB of full speed per month for a year. You likely register with him because the normal amount is 60 GB. That costs around 1250.

1890 baht or thereabouts. is likely for 10 Mbps unlimited.

What do you mean 80GB/month for 12 cycles at full speed? Wasnt the full speed of 4G is 10Mbps in Thailand?

I read your recommendation on other post about huawei mifi. Do you think any pocket mifi is compatible with these unlimited 1xxx baht simcards? I dont have old 4G phone to use as tethering device and some vendors stated not all unlimited simcards in Thailand are compatible with pocket mifi.

Go to any shop. What I do is register the SIM but sometimes since there are special instructions for activation from the vendor I bring the SIM uninstalled yet and then after registering...install in my phone and follow any vendor instructions. If you bring the phone with the SIM alreaady installed...the shop might invoke some option that gets you some other plan and invalidates the plan you actually bought.

The lazada sellers warned me that doing so, i would not be able to enjoy 1 year unlimited 100Mbps internet plan since the official service center will revoke all the unlimited plan back to usual monthly data (meaning i'll have to pay +300 baht per month for 12 cycles, instead of just +1400 baht for a whole year of 100Mbps unlimited)

  10. So i was adviced to buy unlimited 1-year internet prepaid simcard for 1xxx baht per year instead of monthly 10Mbps unlimited at the cost of +300baht.

I browsed lazada and found plenty of diffrerent providers. I am fond of DTAC but willing to give AIS or True a trial since the 1-year unlimited 100Mbps 4G Internet cost around the same price.

I messaged these sellers from lazada regarding how to register this simcard when i receive it. All of them replied:

    1. When i received the parcel, take the photo of back simcard

    2. Take the full page photo of my valid passport

    3. Take my selfie holding on my passport

Well, this is new to me (attach and send my passport page to unknown receiver). So is this normal for you all who had ever purchased and activated unlimited "lazada" simcard? Is there any way around to safely activate this new simcard without sending personal information to stranger via Internet?

Would i lose the priveledge 1-year unlimited 100Mbps Internet if i take the simcard and my passport to respective customer service? I.e DTAC, AIS, or True Shops in the mall.

    Thank you.

First thing you need to do before buying a mobile data sim card is check the coverage area of the provider,if your in the pattaya area, the best coverage is provided by True 4G,then AIS then DTAC,not to difficult to check coverage area of each provider.

I only have DTAC thus far. Is there any app that allow me to check 4G coverage based on gps location? Buying few simcards to test out 4G coverage doesnt seem wise and asking strangers to check it for me could get me into trouble too.

You need a non-imm visa or a Thai bankbook for post pay. I pay 850 a month for unlimited full speed data. Have to commit for a year.

That looks like the prepay package I had, but the price seems higher now.

I dont have non-imm visa and my current tourist visa has been expired indefinetely since couple months ago. I am living with visa amnesty from Thai government.

Do you know any other unlimited 10Mbps prepaid package from other service providers that are cheaper? I saw someone posted that AIS unlimited data package is not exactly unlimited as the speed will be throttled once user reaches monthly limit.
