  1. He is either lying or pays an agent to do any reporting... Not even past the first page and the sceptics come out of the woodwork. I spent my first 6 years living here in my own home and never knew where the immigration office was. It wasn't until I got caught up in the UK 2014 passport fiasco I had to go to immigration and get an extension to avoid overstaying. Dec 2019 I went back on ME visa but sod's law, covid came along, couldn't leave the country and had to go back on extension. When people think one place is better than another they tend to exaggerate the reasons for their perception. Been to Cambodia, seen it and wouldn't go back. If someone thinks that the following is good reason to live there it is up to them, doesn't make it valid for others. No reports? - I haven't done a 90 day for 16 months. No TM30s? - I haven't done a TM30 since 2015 No fees for reentry? - are we to believe the Cambodian visa is free? No contact at all with an immigration drone? - illegal entry to Cambodia?
  2. Inappropriate response. The poster should have said in the first line "Valid visa status", and visa exempt is a valid visa status. At my hospital registration can be by ID card or passport. I am registered with ID card and during the covid crisis was treated differently to other foreigners that were registered with passport, emergency treatment is a different scenario. Same with the banks, some services may require a certain visa status.
  3. My account was opened in 2000 and in 2014 received the following.
  4. Of course it was, and now claiming "enforced" not in your OP. Obviously since I came in 1999 I haven't frequented the same shops, restaurants or bars as Thaksin. It is not a matter of fact that you could not/cannot buy alcohol outside the so called hours, even during the Thaksin era. At the end of the day you cannot have partial enforcement.
  5. Bit of a generalised statement. It is a law that has been selectively enforced so cannot be attributed to any one person. Shops, restaurants and bars have all been treated differently. The OP specifically referred to restaurants which have probably had less problem selling alcohol during the day than any other venue. A great deal depends on where you live rather than the law.
  6. Indeed, but damage control is another issue. Personally I think ambitious targets are being used to help push the changes through, without any real expectation of being met in the immediate future. Passenger numbers and tourists are not one and the same, if alternative GDP revenue can be generated the latter becomes less significant. I had a walk round the new station at Bang Sue a few days ago, quite impressive and so large it looked deserted. Even signs up for the HSR but that area blocked off, nothing wrong with a bit of forward thinking.
  7. Would you be a "passenger" passing through airports, or not.
  8. Are you trying to say the coalition was created under PR? Your words "Yes, they have said it for years, but they had their chance and decided to jump into bed with Cameron instead. " With the word "it" referring to PR then the implication is the "chance" was a result of PR.
  9. I fail to understand why people feel compelled to start some sort of analysis on everything that gets said. It is all very simple, there is either adequate capacity at the airports or there isn't. If people feel the existing capacity is more than adequate, just say so, the numbers are quite irrelevant. It may come as a surprise to some but passengers do not arrive uniformly, the key is being able to deal with a fluctuating flow. When they created the Eurostar facility at St Pancras in London, future capacity was grossly under estimated and departure is now a horrendous experience. Obviously many would like to see Thailand take a leaf out of the Eurostar planning manual, would certainly provide future capacity for whinging.
  10. You would have to remind me, when did the Lib Dems get a chance under PR? Like everyone else they learned not to trust a Tory, and I would think the Fartage.
  11. Nobody would agree more with you than the Liberal Democrats, been on about PR for decades. Only yesterday ED was saying how this time around they campaigned to suit the existing electoral system, Reform should take note. Very unlikely there will be another referendum on PR, in fact, following the brexit farce I doubt there will ever be another national referendum held in the UK.
  12. Where in the thread title does it say tourists? Are you saying only tourists are entitled to improvements, not passengers. People whinge about airport queues and delays, then whinge about improvements, unbelievable.
  13. Why do some nations believe they have the right to tell other nations how to run their country. How realistic is it that the contest for the world's top job is between a geriatric and the mentally challenged?
  14. Spot on, maybe some see beans on toast as a dessert.
  15. Far too generalised to get a sensible answer, would need to be more specific on the "foreigner" you are referring to. Western foreigners will have a completely different perspective compared to Asian foreigners.
  16. Carabao beer carries the Tawandang Logo and the bottles are embossed with the Tawandang name. It is a joint venture with the beer products being produced by Tawandang, one brewery, 2 brand names. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/sponsored/2023/11/17/carabao-releases-5-beer-variants-set-by-tawandang-german-brewery/ https://www.carabaogroup.com/our-company
  17. Nothing whatsoever to do with it, spelling variations still have the same meaning whereas "bold" and "bald" in a certain context are in fact opposites, strong detail or lacking detail. Suggestion about non native speakers more likely.
  18. Thai ingredients & Thai labour rules it out being German. Made under licence is nothing more than an advertising gimmick.
  19. About as German as I am. Brewed under licence at the Cosmos brewery in Ayutthaya.
  20. Separate projects, with the northern line part of Kumning -Singapore line, why it is called the Thai-Chinese line. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/bangkok-nong-khai-high-speed-train-expected-to-enter-service-in-2027/ https://futuresoutheastasia.com/don-mueang-suvarnabhumi-u-tapao-high-speed-railway/ The current eastern line is 1m track, only laid a few years back. You still haven't confirmed that is to be replaced to carry high speed freight. BTW if you have been on all the estates you may have come across my wife, she worked for a European company at Pinthong.
  21. You are way off track. You failed to answer the points put and the eastern HSR is not part of the Kumning to Singapore project. "have you looked at the map" - I have lived in Chonburi City for over 16 years.
  22. The OP highlights the potential danger in trying to store electrical energy, rapid discharge can have disasterous consequences, Batteries are effectively a non starter as an alternative power source for the aviation industry, they are looking into alternative fuel. I suspect years ago the motor industry came under pressure from the oil industry not to go down that path. Where will the EV industry be if in a few years time the motor industry starts to move back to a more acceptable fuel based power unit.
  23. If you want to believe that when subjected to a can of petrol and a match, the BEV will not catch fire, that is entirely up to you.
  24. And what exactly has that got to do with the HSR connecting the 3 airports. Your words "You need to see the rail links in terms of the EEC. ....and of course frieght" Are you trying to say that because freight is going to China that it will be carried on the elevated sections of the Eastern HSR. It is my understanding that all freight heading to China within Thailand is at ground level but obviously you can show me otherwise.
