Elon Musk says Twitter will offer 'amnesty' to suspended accounts

Firefox erases cookies when I log out. But there is also something called fingerprinting. In reality, I think the intel agencies, Google, etc. know everything they want. I have no illusions of privacy. -

My ISP uses dynamic IP addresses that change frequently, so they don't know who I am. Hardware MAC addresses are not shared beyond the the local network. -

Yes, see my previous post. But, does that mean Duckduck is a more powerful search engine... -
Elon Musk says Twitter will offer 'amnesty' to suspended accounts

Google should not know who I am if I am not signed in. What location are you searching from? I am in Thailand. EDIT: Yes my mistake, I got the last name wrong. Wonder why Duckduckgo found it so easily? -

In response to the firings, the previous CEO, Jack Dempsey, apologized saying he grew company "too quickly". If you want deeper understanding, Search this phrase: jack Dempsey apologizes grew company too quickly Google has trouble finding the story, goes back to 2008 about Jack Dempsey. Google even suggests a 'related' search to help you: "How was blackbirding different to slavery?" What!? Duckduckoo immediately finds at least 50 references from everywhere, all on top. -
The second letter was probably triggered by long delivery times that exceeded the 60 day return period, which could trigger a computer flag. My own letter took almost 100 days. Their second letter stated "If you mailed the first letter just before receiving the second, then you do not need to do anything", because they will continue to process the first letters until the very end of their processing window. Just to be safe, I faxed my 2nd letter to them today. A tip, the only fax machines I found were limited to A4 size (no adjustments). The personalized barcode is on the letter's edge so the fax operator shrank the letter to A4 size before sending. The SSA's fax machine received the letter with no problem. Their fax number is 1-833-719-0632.

It's possible the second mailing doesn't prove the first letter was never received, so the OEIO officer may have been correct. I tend to trust an observation that something happened more than an observation that it didn't. Good luck with your call.

Same issue here, quite upsetting 1st copy of 7162 Received : July 8 Mailed: July 19 (registered int. mail)) 350 baht Rec. USPS NY: July 30 Delivered: Oct 3 2nd copy of 7162 Dated: Oct 27 Received : Nov 16 (today) SSA comments: "This is your second notice. If we don't receive it within 45 days we may stop your benefits." I have no reason to believe they can receive and process the second form in time.

Not logical at all. This is wartime, spy versus spy, and likely involves very high technology. The last thing Sweden or NATO wants is to tell Russia what they found and especially how they found it. That would teach Russia how to not get caught next time. Sweden said it would not share findings with Germany who has leaky ties to Russia. They did not say they would not share with the US. US technology may well have been used in the analysis.

Bingo, I had the same experience. I tried fixing a small inconsistency during signup and you can't contact anyone. If you have a problem during signup, the help menu only accepts 'signup' as a valid category, then immediately cancels the question by email telling you you are already signed up! I think they're using an AI driven customer interface to save money, no humans. You can try again using a new email address, all other info can be the same. They in fact tell you that. My second attempt worked fine. Just remember to think dumb.

New LTD regional documentation requirements for renewing driver's license? I've renewed my DL for 20 years at the Nonthaburi LTD office near my home in Laksi, Bangkok. I live 1km from the Nonthaburi-Bangkok border. I have always used a yellow thabien ban and or pink card for proof of address. This year, I waited in the queue for 5 months and went for my renewal today, Oct 25. They rejected me saying they cannot accept the thabien ban or pink card as both were issued from Laksi, Bangkok. They recommended going to Chatuchak, or, get a residence certificate from either an embassy or the Immigration Department. I got the same story from 2 officers. Reading between the lines of some odd comments, I am not convinced I'll be accepted on return. It's also odd as a thabien ban or ID card is usually preferred. Has anyone experienced this? Could it be because of Covid, farang, warring fiefdoms? I also cannot access the Chatuchak online system (to make a Q reservation if needed), Chatuchak is grayed out for me, but accessible to wife can using her Thai ID. What is up with that? Thanks.

Starting a business in Thailand
rabas replied to racinkc1's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
If you are going to work, then you need a work permit. You do not need a WP just to be a shareholder. If you try to work without a WP, you will get caught as soon as you irritate someone and they report you to the labor department. Been there, done that. I paid 10,000 B for literally 3 seconds of work on a single day. I was the majority shareholder. -
Ultimately, the decision must be with the pilot who knows and is responsible for the aircraft. In practice they would work together, one would hope. Years ago I took a flight from Don Meuang to Singapore. Oddly, there was no cabin service and the seat belt sign remained on. Then halfway, and I mean halfway, the pilot announced that the plane had a hydraulic leak and did not have enough hydraulic fluid to reach Singapore, so we would return to Don Meuang. He said, halfway. On return, we made a beeline straight to the southern end of the runway and a very straight, steep decent with no maneuvering. I'm pretty sure we took off to the south so he landed counter to the preferred traffic direction. In such a case, I don't see how ATC can overrule the pilot who knows the plane and situation.

Correct, I have confirmed this multiple times with the bank and also the NTID provider. Note, NTID also stands for the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, fitting for those making such decisions. The only reason I use Paypal is to sell off my old coins and antiques to help support my large Thai family.
-
NDID is new. You can call the Paypal regional office in the Philippines, who is overseeing this. They will tell you all of the new requirements are coming from the Thai authorities, including the NDID. I have talked to some Paypal reps who were near tears because of what the Thai authorities were doing.
-
Agree. I spent over an hour at my bank with two officers trying to help me register for an NDID number. They could not process my pink card without the chip. They then called both PayPal Thailand and the NDID company whom I also talked to. Pink cards are not accepted and they will only accept natural Thai citizens at this point. That could mean no naturalized citizens.

Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital

Agreed, but they have real patriot systems. Turn up the volume to hear the missiles flying overhead. Would love to know what "suka bartay" means.
