  1. Decades ago when the British governments [both of them] were trying to show the blacks as being hounded by the right wing thugs [their words, not mine].they would daily report of

'RACIST ATTACKS'...And the white working class who dared not venture out at night would sit glued to their TVS thinking of the black gangs [they are always found in packs] being beaten up by the white boys...

Years later the metropolitan police commissioner stated on television that the race doing the attacking was almost always the black race beating up white solitary folk.

Those of us that worked in black communities already knew this. But the seeds were sown.

  2. Now you know why the wonderful new roads were built [for villagers] in remote heavily wooded areas..

Easy access for heavy duty trucks to remove timber...

    As for

    Any justice?'

I am reminded of a story some years back in the Bangkok post where the judges of the highest court in the land increased their salaries by a minimal amount ...

Somebody soon pointed out that they could not legally do this..

Ok said the judges,We will resign our posts immediately until it has been sorted out.....

I merely wonder what high profile court case was just about to run out of time to be heard....

As an aside..please use ve instead of 'of'. The ve is short for' have.

  3. Pk are super.

Khun Pittaya [Ya] speaks very good English as does his wife..

The first time I called him [10 years ago] he said there was nothing wrong with my A/C and needed nothing done.

    He wanted no money.

I gave him 200 baht for his time and traveling to the dark side from Thepprasit .His shop is on the right hand side just before the open ground going towards Jomtien.

He is very busy though...With good reason.

I am surprised that a religion with so much stuff attached to it, with a vast following, don't know the times when stuff must be done, and so the use of electronic stuff is needed.. facepalm.gif

reason for the prayer calls is that the timing of "doing the stuff" changes every day.

To calculate prayer times two astronomical measures are necessary, the declination of the sun and the difference between clock time and sundial clock. This difference being the result of the eccentricity of the earth's orbit and the inclination of its axis, it is called the Equation of time. The declination of the sun is the angle between sun's rays and the equator plan.

In addition to the above measures, to calculate prayer times for a specific location we need its spherical coordinates.

for this lesson you owe me a free top notch SU carburetor tuning! laugh.png

And you really believe that there is anyone in Thailand capable of doing this procedure?

    Or even undrestanding it.

  5. I wonder why there are so many people described as 'racist' when talking about blacks.[no other race comes into this.]

There is so much 'pro' propaganda displayed on television and films which shows how wonderful and intelligent a people they are.

They are nowadays portrayed as generals, presidents of civilzed countries ,Top special agents .Loving family peoplehumanitarians and generous kindly fol

The men are always shown in the background [where it matters most] of film sets, usually at society gatherings talking with beautiful, elegant white females.

or as the audience at the opera and classical music concerts.

  6. If they are "std." local aluminium doors I would have a ride , drive around a see if you can spot an aluminium door/ window shop.

This is not in pattaya but is what to look for.

    http://goo.gl/maps/lZ9Zd

They will do it for you. If you go this route your might as well have all the doors done at the same time.

If there is someone at home to "guard the fort", then lift out the door remove the wheel set ( two screws ) and then go shopping. Depending on the builder you may find two small spacers screwed to the top rail in the "closed" position so you have to have the door in the open position to lift it out.

Thanks for the input,Neal. And thanks to all for your contributions.

  8. It is a brick built structure with heavy steel supports and beams and goes the full length of their house.

It is built on the rear wall of the house and has cement cladding at the rear which backs onto a public road..The tiled roof has wooden batons underneath..

I wish to know how close to the shared wall they can build any part of this structure.

As an aside how close to a shared wall can you plant trees and plants?

  9. I am still unsure as to the regulations .

My neighbours have built an open ended extension that reaches the dividing, shared boundary wall at the side of my house.the extension is 2 meters wide.

The shared wall is 1.25 meters high.

This is a 3 meter high structure open at my end and reaching to within half a meter of the shared wall.

They have used the shared wall for support for a large upright, steel beam [3 meters high ] that is supporting the heavy tiled roof of this extension.

The back of this extension is right up to the rear wall of the houses.

They have now put a black, semi transparent, fibre screen over the back of this extension that reaches to the shared wall .

    Is this legal?

Thanks all ,in advance, for any response.

  10. Thanks guys.

In Bangkok the people next to my wife's house were informed that their extension had to be 1.meter if it had windows and half if it had no windows ffrom the shared wall.

Still unsure what is legal in Nongprue.Banglamung.

  11. My front doors have small wheels on runners.

They are now worn and the adjusting screws on a couple have worn threads.

I have seen wheels to fit in Home pro [Pattaya].

I cannot see how to remove and replace the wheels.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks all ,in advance, for any response.

  12. Thanks Chang-parp.

Toyota want my car at 8.30.

Don't know what to do .Just lounge around waiting for toyota to phone me.Could be up to 5.30..

    But I hope not.

Depends what you want to do.

You can catch one of the baht buses (white, light blue and others) up and down Sukumwit to the major junctions (Klang, Neua, etc) that will take you into Pattaya, Jomtien or Nakeua and connect with the dark blue Pattaya baht buses. They are all 10B and operate the same way, you wave at tehm and they stop, you go to where you want go push the button and get off pay the driver and go about your life.

  13. My car is being repaired at Toyota on Sukhumwit ,Naklua.I have to wait all day .

What should I pay for a baht bus to Pattaya Klandg and what from Pattaya Klang to the beach?

Thanks ,in advance for any response,

  14. I've not seen any equipment with the old type metal rating plate for years, everything comes with those 'stickers' (they are actually metal). I suspect that is what the website you reference is talking about, unless they have a photo of something different.

The A/C is correctly sized for your room. smile.png

The service man checked the gas pressures, all OK.

So we need to look elsewhere.

You're not accidentally running the unit in 'dry' mode are you, 'cool' is usually designated by a snowflake symbol?

Without a thermometer to make some measurements we're really running around blind, human senses are easily fooled, 'feeling' cool or cold is highly subjective.

I'm a bit confused by your statement "I put the A/C to 24 C as any less and the room is not cool and the compressor cuts out while the room hasn't cooled" but without a proper measurement who knows.

The same goes for checking the outlet temperature of the indoor unit, it should 'feel' cold, but a thermometer would tell us how cool it is.

    Crossy.

I set it to 24.C as at any lower temp the compressor will stop working before the room is cool enough.Even at 25.C the room will not get very cool.

Maybe a problem with the thermostat.

Even so my friend's old LG unit is much more efficient than mine.I can feel the cooler air from his unit without need for a thermometer. My unit is 15 months old and I service more regularly than my friend in my soi.

I have never been happy with the performance of this A/C.

The unit is set with the snowflake symbol..

I believe that the compressor is not working correctly.

    Thanks for your input.4.Real.

  15. I put the A/C to 24 C as any less and the room is not cool and the compressor cuts out while the room hasn't cooled..Maybe the thermostat is not functioning correctly.

I do not have a thermometer

I do not think the room ever gets to 24.C and as I stated yesterday after one hour and 40 minutes the compressor was still working to reach the temperature and the room was not coold but merely cool and dry.Not cool enough for a good night's sleep.

Again...My friend's old LG [9 BTU ]works much better than my mitsu and cools his room very quickly.the air flow from that LG is much colder than mine.

But thanks all for your input...

  16. To clarify, without upending my free standing outside compressor unit I can see no such metal identification plate only the silver sticker on the side see below.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks stoneyboy.

I have the same stickers but the website I looked at stated that 'Mitsubifi slim compressors have a metal plate at the back of the compressor with the serial number on.'

I do not have any metal plate with numbers on.I have stickers only

    P.S

I clean the inner and outer units every month.

The inner is seldom dirty and just a little dust on the compressor.

I called the A/C men to do a full clean [took the inner apart] 3 days ago.The A/C seems even worse for the maintenance. They said that there was no need to top up the gas.

Before I start please ask your buddy Nam not to read this personal info which I did not put yesterday as my wife was ill and sleeping and I could not remember exactly.

    .

My bedroom is 4x4 meters square I have insulated the roof above the bedroom and the 2 outside walls. The inner walls are also insulated in the attic.

My friernd 's bedroom is exactly the same size as mine and he uses an LG [6-7 years old]small size 9 btu as I have.

His a/c works well and he has NO insulation.

My main question which nobody seems to understand was..

Do all mitsubishi compressors have a metal plate with the serial number on?

I read on the website that these compressors do.

Mine des not and owing to the inefficiency of my unit I may have been sold some sort of copy compressor.

    Hope you are keeping well.

I am apart from my useless, expensive aircon.
