Ok, wanted an accessory bar for my Versys for GPS, camera, whatever but was having a bear of a time finding one. Couple on eBay for 2,500-3000 baht so I says to myself "self, lets see what my stainless steel guy can do".

Made a template of the arms for size, hole location and angle. Took that to my guy here on Samui and he says sure.....1000 baht ok? Ok thinks I, lets have a go. Back to the shop in the afternoon of the same day and there it is.....bloody perfect!

Thai ingenuity sometimes is truly a sight to behold.

Moral of the story is that these guys can sometimes make just about anything so if you are looking for some custom bit for your bike drop down to your local shop and see what the boys can do.....might surprise you!

Just got back from my reporting, first time with the new form.
Tempest in a teacup really.
Before, you had to submit your address on a handwritten piece of paper with your passport for reporting. That is about all I filled in on the new form, address and email address, signed it and was done.
Lad at the information desk was happy with it and I was out the door!

I used to do it from International hospital in Bohput, cannot any more? My yearly extension for retirement will be in 2 weeks.

One more question with TM7 only one photo?

No, my appointment was July the 10th Sunday, so I'v been to Nathon monday 11th, but it was not for the extension as I thought,

They gave me the list every one know so I will go for my extension the 25th maybe,about one week before she told me but no date ?

My extension ends the last day of July.

As far as the medical certificate is concerned, no mention of Nathon hospital at all, I will go to International hospital Bohput like last year, certainly not 735Baht like in OP but 250 Baht

When driving a car I am a perfect gentleman on the road, no rush. Hop on the bike and I turn into an idiot.

Well, I guess a day at the hospital with a good book in the week prior to renewal is in the cards.

HJC are a very good helmet, fully certified.

I have an IS17 that is very good.

Ok, riding home from Lamai today, nice weather, pleasant ride.

Coming up over the hill by Samui Rescue there is a car splitting lanes coming right at me!

It is the Bophut cop car, the only cop car on the island. It is driving between the lanes with no regard and escorting a van.

Not the Royal Family, not enough escorts so could only be a local "hotshot".

Total clown behavior.

I have an airhorn on my motorbike, sounds like a cement truck so definitely gets peoples attention. It has saved my butt a couple of times.

Last time I went on Lomprayah the ferry was chick full of Chinese tourists heading to Koh Tao and Phang Na. It was like being stuck inside a chicken coop.

Having done both I would recommend the vip bus, little more sane.

Went off yesterday and still off as of 0800 this morning.

Have a couple of large rain pots plumbed in with a pump as emergency water but not sure how long that will last.

I heard my hotel doorman say "Don Meung....tollway....meter".

Drivers will often get back into traffic then engage the meter so he had the benefit of the doubt until I asked him and get his exorbitant response.

I do not enjoy being taken advantage of, it just encourages bad behaivior.

Did you find out what does it normally costs from your hotel to DM airport?

Have done the trip more times than I care to count, it is about 220thb plus 120thb for the tollway. I knew he was trying a fast one.

Had the doorman at my hotel flag down a taxi to head to Don Meuang this morning. Airport, tollway, meter...check.

Kind of......

50 meters down the road I see the meter is not on so I say "why no meter!" And he comes back with "600baht to airport", told him to pull over I want out. He pulls over and I get out and leave the opposite rear door open so numb nuts has to get out and close it and he is just losing his nut yelling at me as I am walking away.

He was seriously pissed but I was already well away from him and surrounded by other people.

Small victory but I will take what I can get!

Used to be a regular there on my mountain bike ride until I too got a bit of a dodgy bill and service, haven't been back since.

Thanks Papa, might try the heat and stretch method and if that doesn't work I was thinking about the idea of losing one of the middle straps as well and moving it down to the foot.

Buy the four of eBay then re sell the 3 you don't want on eBay might end up getting your one for free....[emoji1][emoji1][emoji1]

Anyway, all my buckles are sound but I have absurdly high arches in my feet so the front buckles do not adjust far enough to not pinch on the top of my foot thus the desire to replace the short front buckle with a medium length middle buckle!
