Rumour has it the shop is owned by the same guy who has the Surat shop and have always had good service from them.
Hoping it is just a short delay!

Have been eagerly anticipating the opening of the factory Kawasaki shop near Hua Thanon for a while now and was teased by the sign outside that said "opening Dec 26!".......Nope.
Was by today and while the steel shutters are installed the outside is still a bit of a mess so no idea when they will actually open.
Looking forward to not having to go to Surat to get my bike serviced.

Hey folks, lent my truck out and it came back with a mystery substance on the inside of the windscreen. Tried to get it off with mixed results so if anyone knows of a really good car cleaning/detailing place that could give it a go I would appreciate the referral.
Thanks

My vote is for Bully's on Sukhumvit near Soi 4. Always good and you can sit outside, enjoy a nice cigar and watch the entertainment flow by.
Oh yeah, really good Buffalo hot wings as well!

Ok, kinda fudged on the title a bit.
When I first came to Thailand the mobile phone craze was in its infancy and as I am a fairly polite and considerate man I constantly watched out for other people when walking and would shift my weight when passing someone who was obviously distracted by their life on the phone.
It has now become all a bit too much, thus the title tag line.
Was just in Bangkok and I swear, every second person on the sidewalk had their head down and buried in their phone. My patience is now officially finished.
I no longer shift my weight to allow the distracted person so flow on by, I now brace up and defend my precious chunk of our dear sweet planet.
Most offenders are younger, hell, everyone is younger than me now.
Can what dear Somchai, their best friend, is up to right now be all that important? Is what Somchai is having for lunch be the focal point of their day?
Ok.....rant over.

Looks are secondary to fit. We all have different sized and shaped heads, one helmet does not fit all heads.
When I bought my newest helmet (an HJC IS17) at Paddock I was there for three hours trying on helmets until the fit was just right. A too sloppy helmet will do more harm than good. Vision must be accounted for as well as ventilation.
If you just want a good looking helmet then you may find yourself the best looking dead guy around!
Take your time and DO NOT buy one from the internet unless you have proven the fit with a live version.
Just my two cents.

If the Birdman were to even utter one polite word to me I might change my tune.
Not holding my breath.

Bottom line is that they do not like us...even remotely. We are an irritant.
On another note....does anyone know if the requirement for a copy of lease/house book is being applied to three month reporting?
Cheers

Yep...classic Birdman move. Live and learn, only give them the exact change for whatever service you are obtaining and......check the board for pricing!

Anyone have any news on the proposed move date for the immigration office?
Cheers.

Daily deep thought.
Lately the traffic lights in and around Nathon haven't been working and by gum, traffic works! Every time those lights work you are stuck there watching........nothing.
Personally, I think the only two lights on the ring road should be at Lotus in Chaweng and at the entrance to Bophut.
Never had an issue at the blinking yellow or completely off lights but at the lights you get cutters and badgers and people using the turn lane to just jump ahead of traffic, really, that can't be all that safe?
Add your thoughts or feel free to flame away, I am wearing Nomex today.

10,000 return? That won't even get a return flight to Chiangmai. Don't hold your breathe sadly.

Bought a used Versys and want to establish a service baseline so need to set up an appointment and have it checked out.
Thanks.

Pretty sure Ohms bikes are insured just for Samui, cannot leave the island but talk to him to be 100%.

Now where did I put Boaters sense of humour.........

My thought for today.
Anybody notice that the is a stray 30 m section of Phuket nestled on Lamai beach?
Yep, talking about Swing Bars annexing of the beach right up to the water line for their sun chairs.
Now where did I put that darn NCPO hotline phone number.......

Ok....funny story here.
Was thinking about the treatment received at immigration so thought I would test the waters with the Thai Immigration website. Went on, found the "contact us" site and just wrote a quick note to ensure nothing would get back to the local office and make a nasty yearly experience even worse.
Typed my note, included all requested info then went to authenticate using the 6 character code.....this is where it gets funny. The receiving box only accepts 3 characters! Priceless! No wonder nobody ever complains and the powers that be think everything is just roses and sunshine.
Pointless really.

Ah yes...first tee jitters, everyone gets them.
93 not too bad with the odd foot wedge thrown in, which two par threes did you birdy? Best chances are on the front nine par threes if your caddy clubs you properly. Speaking of the caddy, how was she?
Good that you enjoyed your round and as a local I agree with you 100% about the fee ruining everything. Want to golf more but not at those prices.
Anyway, hope you took lots of pictures for the folks at home.

Was just sitting in Outback in Lamai where the taxi guys hang out, all I heard was the usual set fee schedule being quoted to potential fares.
Same same.

Damn...you mean to say that there were two hansum men there at 2pm?
So your fault "the man" was in a bad mood then?

What time were you there Jimmy? Might have seen you.

Done and dusted.
Went in at the appointed hour and they looked at me like I had two heads. After some prodding was told to go into "the office", (cue scary music) and see the man. He looked at me like I had two heads AND an infectious disease.
"What you want" he demands. Uhhmm, my visa please? "Give me passport!". Uh hmmm, you have it.
He looks at all the paperwork that I had copied, "across road and Google map, now." But it is there I say and show him where in the stack it is. "Need latitude and longitude" he says, I say it is there, on the same piece of paper.
"Harrumph....give me 2000thb". But I say I want multiple entry...thus the other big ream of paper. "More money" he says. So I plunk 6000thb on his desk with a smile.
"Go wait outside" he snears.
An hour and a half late the desk lady calls my name and gives me my passport, I check that all is well and ask her for my 300thb change......she looks at me and says no, lots of photocopy. No claims I as I had done it all at home. "How much you want" she queries and I say, hmmm....6000-5700=300! So 300thb please young miss. She gets it from the cash drawer and I am on my way.
Whole process took 25 1/2 hours from drop off to pick up.
Never got mad but had time to plan my strategies sitting around. So no nasty letter to immigration (not sure they would have cared) and can now sit back and have 365 days to look forward to my next excellent experience at Samui Immigration.

Will definitely request an itemized receipt if the math does not work. 1900 for the visa and 3800 for the multiple entry. Anything above that I will question.
NCPO.....the boogeyman!
