  1. My wife hit the nail on the head just now.

She is also reading this thread and is embarrassed for the stupid falang who believe the police.

Every Thai person knows they didn';t do it and the police are corrupt and everyone in Thailand knows who did it.

But stupid falang the only people who think the police are not being corrupt.

Obviously she is talking about the falang who are defending the prosecution of these two poor guys.

  2. Can't you read?

Where does it say the word lost?

If you eat all of the apples and somebody asks you if they can have one do you reply "no, I have lost them"!!!

The policeman uses the word 'lost'. See for yourself, last line, second paragraph

    http://www.samuitimes.com/day-two-of-the-koh-tao-murder-trial/

The article uses the words " or may have "

It's still early in the trial

Yes the article uses the words "or may have lost"

In the mean time the RTP have scurried back to Koh Tao to see if they can find any other evidence that may or may not be lost or vanished.

I suggest you are either desperate to defend the RTP or are just being incredibly pedantic.

At the end of the day they have failed to come to court with their star evidence that this entire case relies on and then make a statement with regards to it

    1. Being lost

    2. May be lost

    3. All used up and discarded.

Yet you still seem to think it is quite realistic that they could trot into court with it tomorrow.

Get over it.... It is a stitch up and not even a good one at that.

  3. So the police are saying they have no more sample and that is has 'all been used up'.

    What a load of twoddle.

You only need the tiniest bit for a test, evn if you did sereral tests there would have been plenty left.

The cigarette butt alone would probably provide dozens of samples if not more. It would have been saturated in DNA.

Everything the police have come out with has been cock and bull and something you would expect a 5 year old child to come out with.

Your right but the cigarette butt would only prove they or one of them were there on the beach and that's not in doubt as they admitted they were. It doesn't mean they murdered anyone.

that is true, that was only one example of the DNA samples they sais they had, there was also alledgedly body fluid from Heather and also the condom. So theoretically they had enough for literally hundreds of tests. If the condom contained sperm, then thousands of tests.

  4. Isn't it strange how there is a deafening silence from certain RTP apologists now that their beloved police "farce" has theoretically "blown it" by losing, yes LOSING, key evidence in an incredibly important case?

I thik the word 'losing' is you being very generous.

I would say 'destroying'; the evidence that seemingly was incriminating the RTP rather more than the defendants.

  5. So the police are saying they have no more sample and that is has 'all been used up'.

  6. I am really struggling with this one.

Not the case..... But the level of surrealism that this case has now descended into.

So we have reports in the media in the past couple of days that the DNA sample held by the RTP and that of the UK Police do not match and therefore are now more of 'a liability' than that of 'key evidence' ...... Then a day into the trial and the DNA evidence seemingly goes missing believed to have been 'possibly destroyed'.

This is like something out of a David Lynch movie. Or maybe Laurel and Hardy may be more accurate at this stage.

But the most bizarre of the lot.... Is that some people are still championing the side of the police when it is beyond all doubt that this case against these two guys has been a complete stitch up from the day these two poor kids met with their fate.

The media in Thailand may be scared shitless to criticise the police in this cas, but I have to say I am looking forward to how the UK media portray this latest comical development.

I also wonder what must now be going through the minds of the families who seemed to have misplaced faith in the Thai legal andA police system. I guess they are starting to uderstand now why they have been hearing lots of speculation from those of us who have lived here long enough to know that the opposite is in fact the more accurate.

  7. After watching it a couple times, the truck driver is the idiot. He's in the fast lane where he should not be, he sped up when he saw the van about to squeeze in, and most baffling is why did he go off the road at all? There was no contact, the van had moved in front of him, he was braking, so why the hard turn to the right and take it off road? He could have killed himself if he hit a tree or others if he crossed the median. I don't see why he swerved at all.

You know nowt about driving on the road do you.... It is not a fast lane. It is an overtaking lane. The truck was driving faster than the truck in the left lane from the first second of the clip. So he was in the middle of his overtaking manouver when the van attempted to cut in front.

The truck driver was completely in the right.... The fact is that the van was undertaking which is actually ilegal.

The van driver was the one in the wrong from the very start and caused an accident that can quite possibly have resulted in the truck driver being crushed to death.

So you watched the clip a few times?..... That is your conclusion..... I find it ironic you are criticising the wrong man here when it is clear you do not have the slightest idea about driving laws and courtesies.

  8. With all this greece talk which is starting to look like a stuck record, myself, being totally dumb about all this high finance raving, don't understand any of it. If I want a loan from a bank I have to put up some form of security to safeguard the lender and if I can't pay the the loan bank I lose my security. i.e. my house. It therefore seems to my little bit of grey matter that-

    1. What security did the lenders get. If none then why did they lend the money in the first place?

    2. If Greece did have some form of security why did the not pay back the loan, say on a monthly basis, whatever?

My conclusion is that the lenders were just greedy and and didn't investigate Greece's economy sufficiently and should never have loaned the money and that Greece simply lived beyond their means.

Surely the blame is equally on both.

It was all a scam from the start by the Troika.

The Greek government basically ended up with less than 10% of the bailout money once the ECB and German, French and Italian banksters worked their magic.

They didn't ask for security because at that level what can a goverment give?..... They can not put up sovereign assets because they belong to the people.. They created bonds.

They also paid sweetners to the Troika and everyone involved. Arms deals agreed etc etc.... All that money was siphoned away from Greece and then left them lumped with the debts.

Everything you read in the media is all smoke and mirrors. I suggest you read up on the subject from outside independant economists for the truth.

The EU have behaved the exact same way you expect an organisation that does not even do audits on its finances to act.

Ask yourself this.... How can an Italian National bank add 24 Bn to Greeces bailout pot when Italy was itself already bailed out?? Smell fishy does it??

  9. LOL. Just look how desperate Europe is to keep Greece despite protestations to the contrary. If it wasn't, the vote against austerity and the past due loans and the begging for more money would have sealed Greece's fate. All noises from the Eurozone are bluffs.

"The head of a conservative group in the parliament, Belgium's Guy Verhofstadt, said he was "furious" at Tsipras' failure to spell out specifics of his reform plans."

Furious, LOL. Why doesn't he just drop the hammer? Why doesn't anyone?

They know that if they kick Greece out it will start and unwinding of money throughout the Eurozone as shrinking economies run out of money in the banks. It's an unwinding of fractional reserve banking.

It's ironic that Greece could cause panic in the rest of the Eurozone, and not the other way around. Greece hold all of the cards.

"U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew added pressure on the European lenders, arguing debt relief was needed for a deal — and describing a Greek euro-exit as a "geopolitical mistake.""

I'm betting that the US Federal Reserve Bank has to step in and bail out the whole of the Eurozone. Again. Those European countries with their smug socialism and better-than-thou ideas are about to get a comeuppance.

    Cheers

I agree with you that they are desperate to keep Greece in. They should not and just drop the hammer. I don't agree that it would be the end of the eurozone. It would send a signal to countries to behave.

As for the US to bail anyone cheesy.gif the US is Chinese owned soon they will rival the Greek dept. its over 104% most European countries are far lower debt wise Germany at 78% Netherlands at 73,5%

    I agree.

The best the EU can get out of this now is that Greece implodes and it is held up as a warning to the other member states not to defy the allmighty power of the EU.

But that is not going to happen. For one, people all over the union will put the blame on the European Commission and the ECB. Their tactics have been so badly hidden that even with all the help from the pro-EU mainstream media, all of this charade has been seen straight through.

There are also plenty of Euroskeptic politicians ready to tell it how it is.

The problem the EU has is many fold and has to be incredibly lucky to avoid a disaster now. Anti-EU feeling will grow as the other bailout nations watch this unfold and wonder when it is going to happen to them. This is why the right wing parties are growing in these countries and they are growing very fast.

Secondly. With Greece out, as already pointed out, Russia are waiting in the wings and possibly China to see them through a transissioning period while it reintroduces the Drachma. If in a year or two, things are getting worse in the Meditaranian nations and Greece starts to recover and their economical growth overtakes their still-shackled neighbours, then they are going to become restless.

Basically, the EU will be lucky no big damage is done to their beloved project as a result of a Grexit and another country (or even the hint of one) starting to go down a similar route, the euro will tank and so with the EU.

When you see Juncker looking the way he did last night thumping the podium and shaking as he spoke and how timid Merkel looks the past few days... Tells me, they are like cats on a hot tim roof.

    Sooner the better.

  10. My gut feeling is the IS approach is unsustainable. Their tactics can only end in a complete failure.

For one thing, troops are not unlimited and an army can't survive continued heavy losses. Kamikaze-type sacrifices are a sign of desperation. Summary executions of suspected spies or sleeping guards may have a short-term fear factor, but will ultimately end in mutiny or mass desertion.

    Here's hoping, anyway.

The fecundity and active "family" size of IS supporters indicates otherwise. Gaza women tend to pop out 8-12 babies. If one jihadists has a few wives, say 4, he can probably produce 20-30 martyrs over a decade give or take a few. If only 5000 jihadists do their duty, that could create a nice source of martyrs for many years. After 10 years that could be 100,000 -150,000 jihadis ready to go.

    It doesn't work like that.

They are reported to have over 42 million supporters in the 11 Arab states alone.

Across the world one can assume it is over 100 million.

The more land they take and the stronger they look, the more they can tap into this source of support anf the more that source increases. I call it the football supporter syndrome. The more successful a team is, the more support it attracts. How many Man city shirts would you see around you outside of Manchester before they were injected with massive amounts of cash and basically bought great success, same with Chelsea.

    Get my point?

The more successful you seem, the more people will support you, and the more people will want to join your ranks. This increase in support then gives you more strength and power and the more success you get and the more your support grows. Making it exponential until eventually all the world's Muslims will eventually join your cause.

Show me a single Muslim who does not want global dominence. The more it looks within reach the more confident they become. Unfortunately western leaders are walking blindly into a tipping point that will see a complete change of not only western civilisation, but global civilisation.

It needs to be nipped in the bud.

  11. The wife regularly comments on this issue as it is heavily featured in the Thai web-boards.

The latest is that farmers are iterally shooting at each other over water and irrigation.

Not sure how true that is, but she says it will not be long before people start getting killed over water.

She is a lot more right than wrong on all things Thai.

  12. Someone who reads Thai told me this is a 'movie'....in other words, scripted. There are credits at the end, apparently, that tell who was driving each car.

Not surprising, I guess, given PepperMe's history of posting factually inaccurate information on this board.

    FAKE!

You must be some sort of numpty.

My wife brought this to my attention and she is saying you can not read Thai properly.

This is NOT a movie it is real and the text at the end is by the owner of the video which basically just promotes his own link.

The actual video itself is real and if you really want to make me look stupid then please translate the thai text and my wife will veryify it.

You are basically saying you know more about Thais thyan Thais do.

You sir are one who is peddling fiction.

Funny. And if you go to that weblink, it says....wait for it....."TV Channel", lol. clap2.gif

You do a good enough job making yourself look stupid so you probably don't really need my help in that regard.

(Btw, did it ever occur to you that perhaps it's your wife that can't read or comprehend things very well?)

Because it was on lots of NEWS STATIONS last night.......

So you are saying if it is on the NEWS or on an internet TV channel it is fake?

You know nowt about the internet of youtube channels do you?

Here is the RAW dash cam footage just to keep you happy. If you still insist this is fake, and that thery deliberatly cuased an accident with a brand new expensive car out in what is obviously regular traffic, then I am afraid you are beyond help, but don't let that stop you from seeking a professional opinion. On your mental health that is.

  13. So you are so incensed at Thai driving habits that you are not prepared to consider for one minute that some social media viral videos can be faked are you Mike?

I thought it was an interesting perspective, not a piece of Thai apologism.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not defending Thai driving, which to this Brit is incredibly selfish and sometimes lacking in skill. However I don't find it as universally diabolical as it's painted by some. Try Turkey and Iran if you think Thailand has the worst drivers.

Agreed and a few other places i can think of are a lot worse than Thailand, maybe a lot of TV finest experts are of the opinion that Thailand is the worst simply because the only place they have travelled to out side their utopian farangistan ghetto is Thailand

But on that point, you can not ignore Thailand's ranking in the global road deaths league.

So don't be surprised if people rightly get the impression that it is terrible on the roads of this country.

  14. Someone who reads Thai told me this is a 'movie'....in other words, scripted. There are credits at the end, apparently, that tell who was driving each car.

Not surprising, I guess, given PepperMe's history of posting factually inaccurate information on this board.

    FAKE!

So you're actually defending them are you? Are you trying to say they are angels on the roads?

I bet you have never driven a car or even ridden a scooter in Thailand have you?

Your missing the point, the OP has posted something which he claims was a real event, and it transpires that this may in fact be staged, therefore he is misrepresenting something either due to ignorance or an agenda

Erm.... agenda? what could that be I wonder. I made a point to say 'here in Thailand or overseas' so that rules out Thai bashing. hmmm.... Agenda.

It is not for me to prove this is authentic, it is up to you to prove it is fake.

I have provided links to news sites and one of the sites contains the video in its more raw form.

Finally it does not make sense to deliberately damage an expensive car to mock up a road rage incident that can be seen everywhere in Thailand and the world over without going to such expense.

I would say that not only logic, but also weighty evidence points to this being in fact real, and the fact that some guy polished it up to promote his own channel does not make this fake. I do believe that the ignorance dwells elsewhere on this thread.

  15. Someone who reads Thai told me this is a 'movie'....in other words, scripted. There are credits at the end, apparently, that tell who was driving each car.

You should have read some of the crap he was coming out with yesterday.

He lives in cloud cuckoo land.

This clip has even been on the NEWS.

If anyone can read good Thai, then here it is for yourself.

    http://www.bangkokbiznews.com/news/detail/655522

Oh how I love it when people lose an argument at every turn, they come back and try to undermine you in other threads and end up making themselves look stupid two days in a row. :)

  17. For all those who have suffered at the hands of drivers like this whether in Thailand or overseas, should enjoy this video that has gone viral across the internet.

For the record, the police have already collared him, and he works for Mitsubishi and his boss has already cinfirmed he has been fired.

    watch from 1 minute onwards.

  18. Lol..... It was reported here earlier that there was absolutely no problem with CM's water supply because it was definitely going to rain at the end of this month..... Promise. ;)

Casn these so called experts not get together and agree what the actual situation is rather than issuing completely conflicting situations to confuse the public.

I notice they obviously are not taking evaporation into account and the fact that evaporation increases exponentially as the water levels drop. As the reservoirs get shallower the water heats up and evaporation increses dramatically. So they probably have a lot less water than they think.

An example, go outside into the sun with two equal glasses of water. pour one glass into a tray and the other glass leave as s, and measure the time each takes to evaporate. The tray will be dry within hours while the glass will takes days. That is the difference.

  19. I agree with you. After WWII 20 countries icluding Greece wrote off Germany's debt which enabled them to recover and become the country it is today. However today one of those countries that helped them needs help and they are refusing debt relief. Greece can't afford more than B 115 bn debt. Any program with debt higher than this is doomed to fail, its mathematics not politics. For those who say Greece must live within their means, think about this - people in Greece work longer hours than in Germany, 45% of pensioners in Greece live below the EU poverty line, suicides have increased with 35%, hospitals are running out of medicine and then we have unemployment of 25%. What is happening is a disgrace for the EU, it shows that money has become more important than people. Merkel wants her money back even if its comes with a miilion broken lives. BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES EUROPE.

Good one. Tomorrow the leaders of Finland, Holland, Germany, Austria, Poland, Baltic states, Slovakia, Belgium will ask their people through their respective parliaments to donate more tax money to Greece. The poor Greeks need more of your money, This time they will really reform their corrupt, inept, economy and society. Well, after Sunday's 61% OXI, I don't think the people of Europe have lost the last bit of confidence.

Your WOII argument is so wrong. This was 70 years ago. Where do you want to draw the line? 100 years ago? 200 years ago? Also, the Germans are just 1 of the creditors and the people in Eastern Europe also live below the European poverty line. Difference is that they work, pay off and don't whinge like the Greeks do.

The Greeks should hang their heads in shame, not the rest of Europe.

Talking about confidence. What will happen with imports and exports to Greece this year. I wouldn't like to do business with anyone in this country. Economies and money are driven on trust and that's exactly what the Greeks have lost. And that's why a Grexit is necessary.

    You TRUST the EU?

    Hahahahahaha

  20. It is NOT up to Greece to come up with the solution. It is up to the troika.

It was the troika's plans of even more austerity that was rejected, So it is up to the troika to table a different one.

The referendum was basically a statement to ther troika that the people of Greece do not accept you offer and its conditions, so come back with something different.

The EU and the trioka have no intention of backing down at all and wants to destroy Greece because they do not like the Syriza government. They may have already brought dowen governments in other countries and they did it to Greece a few years ago, and they do not like it when the people bite back.

Basically the EU attitude is "If we can not control you as our puppet, then we don't want you at all".

The world is weatching and more importantly, they know exactly what is going on.

So if you can get easy access to credit cars, mortgage and cars on monthly payments, and fail to pay back because you loose your job, its the responsibility of the lenders to come up with solutions? The Greeks should look in the mirror and realize they have, together, created a corrupt society that lives above its means.

What are you suggesting? Your response is beyond beggars believe.

Once a week over the past 5 years three people fly into Athens, which are representitives of the three lenders, the IMF, The EC and the ECB. Their job is to tell the Greek finance minister what they have to do for the next week. Which Greece has complied with to the letter.

So the lenders are basically running Greece's economy.

When YOU take out a bank loan or buy a car on credit, do the bank run your entire finances??????

I put it to YOU, that it is YOUR response that beggars belief, but I will accept you are innocently ignorant of the true situation.

It is because the 5 years of troika conditions and meddling in Greec's economics has FAILED spectacularly, then they are asking for even more damaging controls.... You have to ask yourself who needs to be coming to the table with better proposals. Greece have already given plenty of ground and proposals which are summarily rejected out of hand.

Tsipras has already moved some way, it is the troika who need to move now.

And for 5 years Greece has been told it is living beyond it's means...

    • Big earners who do no pay their taxes.
    • People retiring too early
    • Too much welfare

    The list goes on...

While many of us live in countries that pulled their belts in and are in a better financial position, Greece continued to party horos as if there were no tomorrow...

    attachicon.gifgreekdance.jpg

    Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Funny how Greece were doing well before they entered the Euro isn't it.

It is the Euro that wrecked Greece and the troika.

  21. So if you can get easy access to credit cars, mortgage and cars on monthly payments, and fail to pay back because you loose your job, its the responsibility of the lenders to come up with solutions? The Greeks should look in the mirror and realize they have, together, created a corrupt society that lives above its means.

Tsipras has already moved some way, it is the troika who need to move now.

Pathetic again. Ask the rich Greeks what they have done with their money. How many billions are stashed in Switzerland? How much cash in is their hands? The insolvency of the Greek banks is because the Greeks did a bankrun. The Greeks are very good in blaming others for their own mischief and YOU do the same.

The austerity measures were agreed upon by the previous Greek governments. The Greek economy didn't fail because of the Troika, it failed because the under performing, corrupt, tax avoiding, inefficient Greek society. But its easier to blame other nations and take the money of their tax payers. You should take an example of the Baltic states who have had the balls to climb out of there situation. But no, the whole world is against the Greeks.

Pay up or Grexit and a one way ticket to the stone age.

one way ticket to the stoneage hahahahaha the vile people in the eu would love to subjugate all euro countries for there dream dictatorship oh and look whose at the helm of this huge ship germany....they wont let greece sink its a case of who blinks first try to understand whats really going on ..reading robert peston on hys on the bbc is not real insight its pro-eu propaganda

    At least YOU get it.

SoilSpoil is clearly a novice at this subject and has swallowed all the pro-EU media propaganda hook line and sinker.

Whereas me myself have studied and tracked this subject for a year now.

I have not just started getting an interest over the past few days because of the news coverage. I am a long time member of democracyforum co uk and there is a daily discussion on a thread that has been going now for at least 8 months. So I am very in touch with what has been happening.

All of this has been predicted because the EU are so see through. Just go to the grexit thread on that forum. SoilSpoil thinks he is an expert on the subject but he does not know his arse from his elbow.
