  1. This was always going to happen and was predictable I am sad to say..

Yet another populist favoured policy is turning out to be anything but what it is supposedly meant to do... enhance the standard of living of the less well off eloctorate ect.ect. and impove their lives ect., what a disgraceful con it all is.

We can also look forward to excessive rises to not only subsidise this increase but enrich the pockets and bank accounts yet further of many who boasted about how it was going to help the poorer workers prior to the elections and onwards.

Another devious way for the employers and all who go down the chain of greedy unscrupulous suppliers to take advantage and add rises that will finish up costing everyone big time when they go shopping.

I note also that the mentioned failure of fair redundency payments in several cases are not being given and the government are not comitted to sincerely addressing this by way of compensation either.

Incidently Thaksins is reported as being a party to this in relation to a company he is connected to in Cambodia and the laying off of quite a few employees there, many long term who should expect to get redundency payments Hmmmmmm.

That,s the rice pledging and the 300 baht that Yingluck was praised for and now we await the third re the benefits the first car / vehicle provides for those who will be / are enriching themselves from the proceeds... rather than assist Thailands wealth and in turn benefit it,s citizens as it is / was boasted to do in regard to the poorer members of society.

History will show once again how unscrupulous the Shinwatara's and their coherts are ect. ect.

1997 here we go again I,m loathe to say.

I cannot see them lasting out their term in office not only as a result of the economy, but the many other issues that are destroying Thailand and as for reconcilation.......... forget it, more of the opposite i,m sad to say.

  2. There's definitely a lot of BS on this board for sure coming from red sympathizers and apologists. Thank goodness there are more logical people posting here to educate these misinformed little people.

The same logical people who told us before the election last year that PT was in disarray and that the Thai electorate would not support a party of terrorists. The sentiment expressed here or on the other paper by expats is so far removed from the Thai public. Most expats here don't have the ability in Thai to engage in meaningful conversation and/ or watch Thai news/ parliament/ talk shows, etc. therefore they are subjected to bias through 1. The English newspapers and 2. Those Thais who speak good English, (who are not representative of the whole country and tend heavily to support the Dems)

There are many expats, myself included who base their observations and comments on actual physical witnessing and do not / did not depend on the media you mention for what was seen.

Then there is the vast amount of video evidence available, that was posted during the rioting of 2010...among other harrowing instances.

Thaksin was more than willing to contribute to via his tele casts to inflame and wind his followers to increase their violence and intimidation and this was also available for all expats to see via video real time.

Last of all it was all available and seen around the globe and many who are here now will be familiar vis this uncensored video material.

No Thai language was needed to get a meaningful / true perspective on the infamous reds and their paymaster ect.

AS for the media reporting can differ, depending on what they may have seen and from their positions of observation.

My bias is based on my actual experiences with the Udonthani reds, local government and policing ( lack of in the case of the latter two. )

Plus if I need to get additional info it is all out in real time video evidence.

AS for the PT / government their actions speak volumes and make it abundantly clear as to who and what kind of society they support, terrorist type groups included.

As for real democracy for all and genuine reconciliation forget it while their bias in favour of a fugitive on the run, it is never going to happen.

There you are all you serious Thai speaking debators..I can at least quote a frequently used phrase in and around Pattaya and beyond.

    Not a bad effort after 20 years " isn,t it "

    P.S.

Kudos endure for not reacting to the undeserved mod baiting.

What a joke in contradictory terms they are.

Hollier than thou comments re the use of Papa when addressing them, while here,s you posting as endure and them referring to your mod status when it has nothing to do with what you posted as a contributor / member.

  4. I can't speak for anyone else here, but as I've said many times I'm not on any "team". I'm neither a supporter of the reds or the yellows and I think that both/all are as bad as each other.

I do dislike it when people talk crap however whilst either ignoring or misunderstanding the blatantly obvious.

By any stretch of the imagination, it was not a peaceful protest. It caused untold problems and chaos and damage and went on far too long. Thaksin initiated this, Arisman promoted it including inciting his followers to riot and burn. Which they did.

The criticism I have of Abhisit is that he let it go too far for too long. In any other western country, things would have been stopped far quicker before they escalated and got entrenched.

For those that don't remember or choose to ignore, the rioters burned buildings, burned cars, threatened people, prevented businesses and a huge section of central Bangkok to operate normally, they stormed buildings, the list goes on.

Apologies for any mis-spellings, the keyboard is rather small, it auto-corrects badly sometimes and I have big fingers.

A nice summing up Ts of the critical period ect.prior to the army having to move in....finally.

I agree entirely with you as will many others re Abhisit waiting to long before taking the necessary action to prevent things going totally out of control.

In the first instance as I see it and have mentioned in other comments on the related threads, the police should have done their job in a professional way,

That is, put the countries security and interests ect. as their number one priority and gone about stopping the march of the red shirt mob via checkpoints long before the majority of them even reached the outskirts of Bangkok.

They must have been well aware what was about to be unleashed once they reached their pre planned destination.

( Long before this procession even started IMHO and were well rewarded to serve his objectives. )

Most certainly well aware of their aggressive demeanour and witnessing it getting well and truly out of control and far beyond the limits of safety enroute, yet even after seeing this at the multiple stop offs / cities they passed / went though on their way to Bangkok.

They refused to police them as their primary duty demands of there many supposed roles in relation to not only calming them down ect. but phoning ahead and making arrangements further along the routes preventative non violent measures to stop them going onward.

They could easily have have done this had the will kicked in and they not been following orders and instructions of the criminal in exile who by their own admittance was well favoured and his sole wishes.

It became abundantly clear, as it stil does, who came before the national interests, it,s lawful foundations and the safety of the innocent citizens who were about to be engulfed in violence and destruction along with hate beyond my human comprehension.

Especially when you consider it was supposedly for democracy objectives and principles ect. ect it doesn,t bare well for the future of Thailand and it,s decent law abiding citizens, nor tragically for the younger generations / members of this beloved country. sad.png

Democracy red style in this instance is sadly a camouflage for the sole purpose of dictatorial governance and the returning of Thaksin their evil leader to be re instated to the office of Premier to carry on were he left off before.

They do of course expect to be rewarded big time for their support, but the majority of course, should it ever come to pass will eventually realise the fools errand they have been on along with mega hardship at the cost of the chosen few.

  5. Will Taksin be charged for the thousands killed in his war on drugs?

Will Yingluck be charged for all of the deaths in the south in her war against the Muslims?

No, because multiple investigations were unable to substantiate the allegations against former PM Thaksin.

No, because PM Yingluck has not been accused of targeting non combatants nor of crimes against muslims. And why do you describe it as "her war against muslims"? The insurgency has been going on for decades, nor is there a war against muslims. Thailand has a duty to protect its citizens of all religions against violent insurgents.

Thaksin's questionable let offs re the substantiating of allegations (?????? ) can easily be shown as a farce when considering the media evidence he has provided while wanting and showing the whole world how hands on he was.

When compared to the ridiculous accusations being lodged against Abhisit and Suthep that grow by the day it beggars belief and the end result will justify their actions, if true justice in this case is shown to be done and also make clear the reasons why.

The PT aka Thaksin and his coherts are deviously milking the propaganda gleaned from this charade for all it,s worth so as to keep the more important issues out of the headlines....

Both are related re as to reason why the above is continuing and expanding and getting more rediculous as it goes on and on and on.

The highly controversial rice scheme for one which is becoming mega trouble for them and will NOT go away.

The latest IMHO relates to the Dawei Investments in Myanmar ( were Thaksin in the first instance made several visits to the country for secretive meetings withThein Sein, among others ) and of late, two days ago 18-12-2012 made it official via representative PM Yingluck who also admits to taking advice from her brother, another of the Shinawatra clan self interest in the making no doubt hmmmm.

I find it very odd indeed that it hasn,t gleened more headlines and detailed publication, especially when you consider how huge it is and what benefits should be now in the public domain.

Those sticky fingers of the self serving fugitive in exile hold no barriers on his self enrichment objectives.

  6. It doesn't really matter if people think that the protesters were right or wrong in what they were trying to achieve, if Abhisit gave orders that they should be killed or attempted to be killed to stop the demonstrations then he should be tried as such but of course there are political motives involved in this also.

Governments get away with murdering their own people every year in demonstrations such as this and it is about time they were brought into account for their actions

We are talking about murder and attempted murder of his own people here, I hope he is brought to justice if the allegations are true.

You think he is that stupid? He would have signed an order authorizing lethal force under certain circumstances to achieve a goal.

So then it comes down to proving what was actually conveyed to the troops on the ground. You think Abhisit would sign a shoot to kill order?

He wouldn,t be / have been dehumanised, insensitive and arrogant enough to boast about the horrendous fatalities and other effects his hands on overseeing authority, and orders were having, nor give a running update for not only national media, but globally as Thaksin did on repeated occasions.

Not forgetting his crass comments when giving sickening reasons as to what and why things had happened.

God only knows what the families of his victims are going through with all the Thaksin made / purposely created headlines.

These have seemingly taken over the Thai media instead of how the government are mis using their authority and deceiving those who they are supposed to be their for....all the of them, not just his financially rewarded voters..

Will these long suffering families ever get their much needed peace, some closure and deserved justice, let us pray and hope they will and may it come soon for them..

  7. Thaksin and his army of acolytes must be seriously desperate to smear Abhisit to be trying to pin all this on him, I really do hope it all blows up in thier faces and the curtain of deception is lifted so all can see what is really going on.

    700 charges a possiblity eh !

I,d like to add a few figures to the offences mentioned in relation to Thaksin for comparisons and offer the following thoughts.

That still falls obscenely short of the 2500 EKJ,s Thaksin oversaw being committed on his much publised orders, during this the most appalling of his infamous inhuman rights violations in this instance.

THis would / will still leave a minimum of 1800 unanswered ones to take into consideration, based not on ridiculous trumped up charges but factual evidence that is still available.

That is by the way only accounting for official figures and is well less than the actual murders committed which would be upwards of many more of course in real terms.

Then they can add Tak Bai attrocities committed under his supervision which was 85 murders and incidently in itself is 12 short of the 2010 deaths for obsevational purposes, but responsiblity again in this case in the first instance can be attached directly to Thaksins negligence / watch.

The latter in the case of 2010 cannot be viewed as negligence IMHO as it was the outcome of self inflicted consequences brought on by the out of control red shirt mobs and surprise surprise, their overseer / leader Thaksin ect. ect.

Abhisit and Suthep in this case were acting out of regard to national security and prevention of ancharistical outcome ect. ect. that were developing, out of control before their timely intervention.

It is most certainly a political travesty what is now unfolding, hopefully as already noted it should come back to haunt him and them who are acting on his behalf, with a vengeance.

  8. Chocolate should not go it the fridge. That is why it turns white.

Definitely not having a go at your post Harry, just offering additional info. to prevent it happening.

I always keep some in the fridge, sometimes for up to a year and have never had the white effect you mention but the rprobable reason for it is due to fluctuations in the storage temperatures.

Quoted the following more detailed reason I got from google which compliments my initial reply

It's called 'blooming' and that means that at some point in the long storage the candy underwent a change in temperature, causing the chocolate to soften and reharden. The cocoa butter separated a little, came to the surface causing those white marks. So that's all it is, cocoa butter

    P.S.

It still tastes good, I used to buy it in the U.K. in fact still do, the reason it is sold at discount is due to the inferior appearance of it and customers who would return it as damaged goods.

  9. You have never been called Khun?

    Come off it.

    Do have a Thai partner?

I cannot for the life of me understand your obsession with being / having to speak Thai as a means to all and everything you have posted in the thread and I include the latter stages of hthe debate.

For the record, I have been married twice to Thai ladies and have never been addressed as Khun by them once a relationship was developing beyond a formal stage'

Papa and my christian name, yes.

I bet you are a real bundle of joy to meet out and about, seems to me you could come in the 1% I mention, going by your obsession with having to speak Thai to appreciate Thailand from a foriegners perspective ect. ect.

You just do not get it that the exchanges are for me a nice way to enlighten each others day, as we eventually succeed in getting across what each of us mean.

As for those who speak Thai, on several occasions I,ve had the unfortunate witnessing of how they mis use their abilities and have a way of speaking down to the locals and making the feel uncomfortable and inferior regarding their function.

( I,ve witnessed arrogant attitude and unfriendly demeanor in several instances i,m sad to say.)

I also have many Thai friends who work in the non bar establishments who can testify to this and I find this more offensive as a foriegner than the farang non speakers who treat them disrespectfully in a similar way.

    marshbags whistling.gif

    P.S.

I,ve come across a few clever dick type " farang " who insist on butting in when I,m communicating with Thai while ordering something.

A bit impolite IMHO to assume I,m incapable of communicating, especially when it is not invited in the first place.

  10. To call an elderly male person Papa as in the op,s pathetic gripe, or Mama to the ladies is for me a genuine show of respectful recognition.

I am also of a certain age were many also call me Papa and I feel special when they do.

How nice it is to see the smile on the faces of Thai in particular when I address them in such a way and yes I feel warm / good in return that they do.

Papa is also classless ( the respectful meaning ) and you don,t need to be anything / anyone other than older to deserve such an endearing, honourable title.

    marshbags thumbsup.gif

I take it you don't speak Thai.

    I've never been called Papa.

    Khun/Ajarn/Loong yes.

Dont think I have ever heard a Thai refer to another Thai as papa.

All the foreigners that I've heard being called this by Thais would be called 'mug' by most.

Any foreigner who has been here any length of time who understands the language and culture would ever be called Papa.

For those claiming it is a mark of respect - wake up!

Hmmmm, I,ve never been called Khun/Ajarn/Loong, but then again Thai seemingly see me as a farang and the spoken Thai word has and never was a barrier in relation to showing the kind of respect I posted on.

Guess I,m on a different wave length to some posters but stand by how I see things.

I do not and never have witnessed any resentment to my chosen use of the word nor been accused of being a mug or treated like one.

As for culture it is / should be a two way thing between Thai ect. and your own.

While there are those who profess to being good with spoken Thai many of our members, me included are not.

I respect Thai / other nationalities who deserve it and it is usually reciprocated.

I go walk about everyday, meet lots of not only Thai but other nationalities and always manage to communicate on a friendly basis with 99% of them.

As for the 1%, well no one is expected to get on with everyone, well not in my books anyway..

    marshbags thumbsup.gif

    P.S.

I do not do the bar scene so perhaps I,m seeminly ignorant to the downside of how individuals may be treated..

Each to their own by the way and no offence to those who do, not in any way.

  12. [The police wasn't in charge anymore after the CRES took over.

That the police did nothing and so that the CRES had to take is a false statement.

The function and role of the police at all times relating to unlawful acts and crowd control ect. ect. is to contain and prevent such scenarious getting out of control.

    ...

And everywhere in the world, even clean-as-a-whistle democracies the police carry firearms with authorization to use them in certain circumstances. If they don't and cause death by not following the established procedures I've never heard a PM or president being charged with murder for deaths resulting from that.

    Well said AG.

It sums up not only my thoughts but more importantly, those of all decent law abiding citizens around the globe who put their faith and trust in their leaders.

  13. I would think being in a wheelchair is even worse.

My offer of advice would be to keep using the tuk tuk and taxis.

If he finds one who is suitable, get their contact number and just bell them when required.

It is also convenient for the return journey to do like wise.

Normally it is easy to build a repore with regulars and they will usually take extra good care of customers, who use them on a regular basis and are sensitive to their needs ect..

    marshbags thumbsup.gif

You can also take the wheelchair with you and use it in the off road safer area,s shopping malls ect, and keep some all important self independance.

  14. So it's OK to use the Police instead to slaughter 2500,of the people with no evidence or proof of drug charges, dead men don't have the option of a Court Trial either.

    Well said and highlighted Majic.

Many of those murdered were totally innocent and in no way connected to drugs ect. ect.

Well above the red statistics in relation to deaths and injuries.

The indiscriminate, evil, inhuman EJK's / cold blooded murders, of not only genuinelly innocent bystanders is beyond the bounds of understanding and justified excuse, unlike what is being constantly alledged by the hypocritcal red supporters on this thread and elsewhere in relation to the taxi driver who supposedly ran out to see what was happening ???

    marshbags whistling.gif

    P.S.

Unlike being the active aggressors on the Thaksin ordered drug eliminations and then turn a blind eye to all the red shirt did in 2010, again due to who's behalf they were going balistic for ( Thaksin ) the police have shown they put the interest of an exiled fugitive based alledgedly in Dubia above those of honest law abiding Thai based citizens.

  15. ["Unless of course Tarit never actually had those thoughts at the time but has suddenly decided in the current political climate that to say now that he did, could do wonders for his career prospects...."

And that is the point! thumbsup.gif +1

It is yet another of the inbedded downsides in relation to Thai culture and it,s political practices of authority changing opinion.

Not because the morally believe they misjudged their views on a particular issue, but to enable them to become part of a political party who have opposing thoughts and agendas ect. ect.

Not forgeting the financial rewards it brings them .AKA.. self enrichment before considerations for the electorate and doing what is in the best interest of Thailand and it,s long suffering citizens.

As I would suggest has happened in Tarits case courteousy of the P.T. CEO in Dubai

    marshbags whistling.gif

  16. Do you not see that the escalation of potential violence was planted by this action and then burst forth once the supposed international standards of crowd control were disregarded entirely by the troops . The violence didn't start at the time of the killing of Romklao, troops had been firing on civilians since late afternoon and they weren't blanks despite the lies put out at the time by the government and the army.

So yes, if as the rules of engagement in self defense were broken Suthep and ultimately Abhisit are responsible. They were responsible for the pressure on the army to carry out the operation regardless of the operation not being able to finish in daylight and therefore the resulting mayhem.

It was the red shirts that escalated at every point.

First, they talked about bringing bottles to fill with petrol to burn the city.

There first couple of protests were peaceful.

After their protest was ignored, they collected blood and spread it around parliament and Abhisit's house.

Then when that was ignored, they went on there mobile rallies.

Then they went and confronted the troops that were stationed away from the protest areas. The troops withdrew back to their barracks.

When the government continued to let them do what they want (how dare they let protesters protest), they decided to occupy Ratchaprasong.

When there was no crackdown by the government, the red shirts decided to head to parliament and storm it forcing MPs to flee over the back fences. (how dare the red shirts storm parliament. Only the yellow shirts do that).

Storming parliament wasn't enough. They decided to storm Thaicom as well. But this time they used molotov cocktails and overran the army. The tear gas and water cannons were useless in stopping them.

That was when the government decided the protests needed to be dispersed. Videos show the red shirts dancing and the army just standing there. No video of the army attacking the protesters.

Then all hell breaks loose. Witnesses on site don't know where the first shots come from.

Apparently, a protester is the first killed, but it wasn't near the army and there is no evidence that the army killed him.

A grenade blows up the commanding colonel. Mysterious "men in black" turn up, shooting at the soldiers. Most of the video of the soldiers is of them retreating.

The following days, the red shirts move to the Ratchaprasong area. Under Seh Daeng (supposedly), they set up petrol soaked bamboo and tyre barricades encircling the Ratchaprasong area. (Rama IV. Ratchapraprop, MBK intersection)

But that's not good enough for the red shirts. They don't fight the army from behind the barricades that they have set up. They actually go out further along Sathorn and on the other side into the Ratchaprarop area and set up burning tyre barricades and shoot/throw things at the soldiers.

Every step of the way, the red shirts put the pressure on the government. Every time they were ignored, they would increase the pressure. When the government decided it was time to shut down the protest, the red shirts brought out their militia.

So, if anyone was escalating to violence, it could ONLY have been the red shirts.

    Agree totally.

Then the reds on pre arranged orders moved on to the burning of many city halls throughout the country, along with the gutting and plundering of Central world ect. ect.

There are other videos covering the governmental offices in various cities around Thailand providing evidence of the terror they then stared to cowardly inflict on the rest of the country.

Me I witnessed the Udonthani destruction at first hand and I can assure you it was frightening how they indicrimately went about their evil while the police and local governmental officials stood by and let them get on with it.

Amazingly most of the people responsible for the above are now on indefinite bail and unless their is a change of government will never be held to account for their horrendous actions, also of course the leaders are now feted by this government as heroes and have been well rewared for their loyalty to their leader in exile.

I remember also observing day after day how they continued to escalate the protest from one extreme to another.

I can assure those who think the reds were not offered opportunities to calm down and stop there terroristic actions, that they were many, many times asked to stop yet they totally ignored advice offered along with warnings of the consequences if they did not.

Indeed quite the opposite continued to take place as they were hell bent on destruction, motivated and paid to do so by Thaksin in his desperate attempts to forcefully take over the country, along with installing a government who he could use to his advantage while in possible further exile.....AKA the PTP as is now.

I also remember thinking why doesn,t the government use / utilise the forces to put a stop to it all.... long before it got to the point it ended up in.

    Ect. ect. ect.

  17. You want truth and responsibility abhisit? Then tell the truth and take responsibility for the orders you gave and the unarmed people that died at the hands of the army, it's all well and good just pointing the finger at the other side and tell them what to do for reconciliation, but take a look at your own actions and man up and face the consequences.

Who will take responsibility for the unarmed people that died at the hands of the red shirts?

Perhaps the other side ought to lead by example before continually having a go at Abhisit, his leadership and his government.

Least anyone needs reminding or indeed isn,t aware of the exiled leaders track record this informative url will help to maybe provide some reality as to how the other side and in particular their CEO Thaksin to this day has not faced up to what he is responsible far.

There is plenty of info about the red shirts so it is relevant to several commentators that are constantly in denial and seemingly consider them peace loving innocents.

    http://pad.vfly.net/en/642/worst-human-rights-abuser-violation-thaksin/

    marshbags sad.png

    P.S.

Kudos to Abhisit and Suthep for having the guts to stand trial and openly face their accusers.

The reconciliation reference is at the door of the PT and unless they start offering genuine efforts to accomodate all sides, it will never happen democratically and most certainly while ridiculous charges like these of murder are made, it is glaringly obvious they do not want it.

It is all about the interests of Thaksins family and his infamous followers and doesn,t take into account the interests of all the other groups they are supposedly wishing to reconcile with.

  18. This is precisely the sort of black and white view the article was referring to IMHO

One thing that is not black and white is that while ever Thaksin and his proxy government continue as they are there will never be any chance of reconciliation, along with unity and peace on the streets.

Sadly things will continue deteriorating unless there is a complete change of mindset along with demonstrating a genuine desire to make / encourage it to happen.

While ever they continue to act selflishly on behalf of their exiled leader and ignore what is best for Thailand things will not change.

While ever their corrupt practices continue to enrich their bank accounts at a cost to Thailand, along with plundering yet further any assets they haven,t already diverted and stolen, things will continue to deteriorate and genuine productive, loyal Thai will continue to show their resentment and unwillingness to reconcile with what many see as an elected bunch of opportunist plunderers bent on getting their exiled leader on the run, back in charge to take over were he left off when he was last in office to manipulate the constitution and alter laws to enhance his ability to have total control of all and everything at will.

There is a sleeping giant gradually being woken up that will eventually rise with a vengeance and the day of reckoning will surely take place and come back to haunt him / them big time.

The rice scheme could possibly be the one to trigger it off once the corruption surfaces and eventual reality sets in that the farmers have been used and instead of enrichment, they become even more impoverished while the greedy politicians and privilidged middle men exploit the cash cow it is has become, thieving the rewards of their hard labour while handing back a pitttance for their families to live on.

The smile will surely be wiped of Shinawatra faces and their coherts when reality hits them and they can no longer keep and support their families off the pittance.

  19. Say no more...

"One red shirt even argued with this writer, saying, the government needed to use special laws like the Internal Security Act because Thailand was not a developed democracy, unlike countries in the West. I told him I thought it sounded ironic as similar logic was also employed by people to defend the military coup and the lese majeste law."

    rolleyes.gif

I would like to add the two preceeding paragraphs to yours as the hypocrosy of the reds and this their elected government is so blatantly demonstrated in all three of them..

    quote

" Just hours before Boonlert announced the surprising end to the anti-government protest that he led, a number of pro-Yingluck Shinawatra red shirts were adamant that the use of the Internal Security Act (ISA) to deal with protesters was justified as they regarded coup-calling Pitak Siam protesters a bunch of fascists. The red-shirts' sense of self-righteousness was no less real.

It didn't seem to matter to them that, ironically, the ISA was created by the National Legislative Assembly, which was appointed by the Council for National Security. The council staged the coup that ousted Thaksin Shinawatra - whom the red shirts support. "

This also demonstrates that the alledged reconcilation endeavours of the government are a one sided affair of bias and dis unity.

It is glaringly obvious only a certain section of Thai will, if they managed to continue their phoney ingeniuos attempts to reunite Thai and who would / will eventually benefit from their endeavours to bring their unlawful leader ( IMHO ) home.

Thaksin, plus his government in awaiting his return as CEO, along with the redshirt supporters are fast becoming dictatorial in their will to oblige the dictator in exile.

Sadly Thailand will never have peace while this scenario is allowed to continue and it is and will continue to cost the country dearly in all ways with corruption to demoncraticly required principles being just a couple of them.

The anti government rally General Boonlert led with his Pitak Siam was bound to fail from the outset once the government began to use their influence and adverse publicity machines to scare and intimidate those who would have willingly come out to support his views, but unlike the red shirt brigade they are in the majority peaceful loving and are not enclined to partake in violent confrontation.

There was nothing democratic about what took place both prior and during the rally and consequently a very hollow outcome for the government and most certainly nothing to gloat about.

As he says, the politicians did what they set out to do led by the master of evil and deceit at present running the country from Dubia ect. ect.

Sadly he didn,t stand a chance of a successful outcome, nor indeed did those who turned out to support him, in spite of all the adverse and intimidating publicity that preceeded the rally.

While many of us wished for a different outcome in government attitude, it became apparent as the week went on it was not to be.
