Used to love a lot but given the changes over the past 3 - 4 years fell out of love in a big way. Moved to Hua Hin. My lungs are deeply grateful!

Actually, I would never have moved from CM had the air quality not deteriorated so much. Moving is such a pain & a significant challenge with 6 dogs & a cat! Also, I could barely get out of my Moobaan - traffic had become so bad. I have asthma so the deterioration of the was much more noticeable to me. And yes, since moving to Hua Hin I have rediscovered my love if living near the ocean. And no, it was in no way the primary reason for leaving

I very much doubt it. Grew up in a small village in Wales near the sea, lived for 23 years in Hong Kong - near the sea & have realized I am so much happier living near the ocean. It's not the buning alone, it's what CM has become in the past decade. It's turning into a dust bowl. And sorry, but hua hin is not Phuket - never cared for Phuket personally. Happy as a clam!

Gave up on the filthy air in CM - not just the burning - the year round bad air & moved to Hua Hin! Wish I had done it sooner. Of course I miss many aspects of CM but definitely not the bad air. It's only when you get away from it & live in a non polluted area do realize just how bad the air in CM really is

Don't buy a Sharp - I bought one & couldn't find filters for it. As I lived in Chiangmai in burning season bought a Bionaire Hepa filter for TB 24,000. Worth every satang!

You want to try Chiangmai where I used to live. Yes, there are delays here, but nothing & I do mean nothing like CM

Lived in America twice - really liked it a lot. The gun thing - didn't get it then, still don't get it & likely never will. How could one possibly need assault weapons able to kill God knows how many people! Glad I grew up in the UK - never had a gun , don't want a gun & perhaps most importantly don't need one. And as for hunting defenseless animals as a sport - well, what can one say.

Lived there for a decade before giving up on the terrible air quality & moved to Hua Hin. Burning season is one thing, the ambient year round pollution quite another. The increase in traffic, construction dust has changed the air quality completely in CM. I know .. I have asthma& could tell that the air was steadily worsening. Since moving have met several others here who have moved for the same reason - bad general air quality. Sad to leave but so glad we did. Our lungs are very grateful!

Incorrect - UK no longer offers healthcare if you have been out of the country for over 3 years. UK citizens i.e - different of course if you are a migrant!

Even 4 ft Thai men have guns. Personally I would cut it without contacting the owner. Have lived in Thailand too long!

Please don't give her garlic. Garlic & onions are poisonous for dogs. You can try giving her cottage cheese, my dog love it. Dry dog food isn't good for dogs - too highly processed unless you buy the really expensive brands. Tuna & brown rice are also good. My dog loves fish

I do have it in both feet. Used to do jazz ballet lots of high impact aerobics & running. As I said, cortisone shots between 1st & 2nd toes works wonders. If MN is suspected, never do foot massage. It irritates the tendons in the ball of the foot. At least for me.

Boiling in the summer months in Chiangmai & then there's the air pollution & burning. Lived there for years but gave up & moved to Hua Hin. Wish I had done it sooner!

For Morton's Neuroma a shot of cortisone every so often works wonders. A bit painful but so worth it. I know - I have MN

Indeed it did. After a decade in Chiangmai moved to Hua Hin. Couldn't take the air pollution any longer

I gave up & moved to Hua Hin. I have asthma & just couldn't stand the bad air in CM any longer. Lovely fresh sea air- can't beat it!

Dr songklot -Bangkok Hospital Sat mornings. Excellent & very skilled surgeon. One of the best in Thailand

Cannot recommend Dr Somyos sadly. Friend of mine did upper eyelid surgery which needed to redone - elsewhere.

Should get a blood test for tick fever . F/line only works well when used monthly religiously. I have 6 dogs use F/line each month on the 1st & have no ticks

You forgot those wonderful Welsh cakes & boiled cake. My aunt made them every weekend

Thank God I have moved to Hua Him. Took me 50 mins to do 1 year visa & re-entry permit! & I didn't go to immigration until 1;30 pm! Yeah!

A resting EKG is not particularly useful in detecting heart disease. You need a stress EKG - much more accurate

Ivermectin is not safe for long term use. Frontline & constant monitoring for ticks works well. Worryingly in Chiangmai when I lived there, Lyme disease had started to show up in dogs. Not yet sure about Hua Hin where I now live. With 6 dogs it's a perpetual battle!
