Reciprocity.
Why isn't our Happiness Government telling the Chicoms to either open up to Thai-registered vehicles or close the border to them coming here? Period.
Why? This is a winning situation for Thailand. The Friendship Bridge in Chiang Khong and the Lao highway were specifically built to increase trade and tourism from China. The Chinese traveling here buy car are generally well to do and not cheap package tourists. They are spending a lot of cash. Many if not most of the cars are luxury class vehicles. I saw a Bentley Continental at Rim Ping with Chinese plates. Chinese are pouring in by the thousands and spending cash, the Thais can't leave and spend there tourist dollars in China. Win/Win for Thailand.
Before this topic goes in crazy directions; The OP question was "What route are they taking". Asked and answered.
was behind that Bentley last night, with a jag xj6 behind me,must be some money in that china.

ye some were by infinity/duang dang.new blar bar bar being builtI estimate Dayli to be on 500 wah, but Blar Blar is bigger and accessible from two sois. Both, could easily be upcoming condo projects. Palm Springs seemed to sell fast...I don't know all the dirty details, but they did manage some price increases before construction was complete,,fairly average buildings, many units with obstructed views....that is where a lot of condo buyers want to be....all this while many experts, here, were calling for price declines of varying levels. Is Blar Blar going to reopen near the lion statue, behind Nimman, as reported?
I hope it will be like the old Blar Blar, but with a better beer selection. Serving only Chang was the biggest drawback to the place.

The old Neighborhood bar combined with the place next to it and became Bob's Garage. Is this the place you are referring to? Or did Neighborhood relocate to somewhere new?

driving around the city (chiang mai)this afternoon commented to wife.never seen so many farangs here, bit of a mix lots of youngish ladies, but lots and lots of older men.You want to see new faces? Go to Chiang Mai Immigration just about any day of the week! As far as I'm concerned, there are too damn many of them now!
No S*%t ....I've been living south of the city(Mai Hia) for over 10 years and amazed at the influx of farang over the last 3yrs. out this way.
At the fresh market on a sunday I could imagine to be somewhere in middle America....couples young, old, mixed & matched, full families and large groups all shapes and sizes...here for reasons of their own.
ChiangMai has been discovered!
Exactly what I have said and am seeing → close to the same area...

cheers for reply but it was a general question, for any one with any idea, just digressing slightly,do visa services at prom, except credit/debit cards or is it just a cash transaction.just keeping my options open.
true blue,
If you are asking me, I have no idea. I haven't been in Immigration at Promenada yet.
With any luck, it will all be sorted by the time I have to visit Immigration again.

just digressing slightly,do visa services at prom, except credit/debit cards or is it just a cash transaction.just keeping my options open.A couple points:
1. Regarding Chiang Mai Immigration, some people are making "outside donations" now by using a visa service (I use one) - ANY visa service, and some people are complaining.
2. If anyone thinks they are going to get are already have any "inside" information about something like changes to how Immigration operates (also included, but off topic would be changes to a personal business because of a perceived special relationship with an owner of the business) is greatly overestimating their knowledge of how things in Thailand (and Asia) work.

just a comment on n/johns post would that be 30 a day if they bring back online reporting,????? considering they only do about 30/35 a day at immigration now. would not leave many for walk ins, been interesting though if implemented.
