especially, insisting you parked your car the right way,They went ape shit if u did not.Yes.. it's an interesting case study on how quickly a good thing can be messed up. It's not even that there's anything seriously wrong with it now. I think they jumped the shark when opening up that Number 1 place in Pa Daed on the river, with staff then being spread between both locations. Plus not hiring enough new staff for the old place, or perhaps their HR / staff management approach contributed as well. (They were relatively strict on staff with rules for everything.)

went to his new place when it first opened, very nice but well off the beaten track, could never understand why they did it,quite liked the old number 1 bar,use to be buzzing most nights.
A few of us were regulars at Pa Daed. It was handy if you lived around BWT, Hang Dong and took the river road. However it was well off the tourist route and ultimately that was probaly its downfall.Yes.. it's an interesting case study on how quickly a good thing can be messed up. few years ago no 1 bar was the most popular bar in chiang mai. Most nights it was full to the rafters,They use to but a great free buffet on new years eve.many expats went there.

a few bars I know have that Vietnam channel, Which shows epl , And there is a cable one that does the same,

the going rate for donations by most bars to the police benevolment fund is about 1000bht,and they do get a notifaction in there mail box,of thanks.

so you reckon the bib are carrying sophisticated identification systems with them now, Big brother come to los.My Thai driving licence has been enough identification so far .On it is stated my Passport number .
Yes, it's a legal form of identification as it is a picture ID. However police is checking for validity of your visa or whatever you have and there is no possible linkage between your driver license and that.
Well, your passport number links to your arrival record and everything else.
So by plugging it into their incredible online systems they'd quickly see if you're on overstay; better actually than some grainy photocopy.
It's not an exact science though.. police can and do make up the rules on the spot.
Still, with both a driver's license and passport copy you'd have to be very unlucky indeed for them to hassle you.

Somewhat strange providing a "how to" in the return envelope simply confirming you got it right?
The "how to" should be distributed to those that don't use mail in perhaps?
thought it was very helpful to send me a tm47 for next time I renewed. Service from immigration,Is improving in leaps and bounds now, Even better than the old airport office looking at all the positive reports, Apart from the usual old grudges that is.

Yes, it would seem logical to have those forms available at Promenada and given to everyone who comes in person to submit their form, wouldn't it ? But N-O-O-O. And when it's been suggested -- even by the local Consular Corp, with a copy of the form shown, they're meet with blank looks by the Prom Immigration officials..
copies of all the tm forms needed for immigration are available on the table before you go in to immigration, Or they were the one and only time I went to promenade about 3week ago,

e interesting,to know what proplems you had, In trying to renew your ext of stay. Might help other people with same proplem... cheers. There are always 2 sides to a a case like this and as Immigration "refuse to give details on a particular case" I guess we will never know the truth.
As such, I will not comment to this particular case.
But I know Thailand, live already 16 years LEGALLY in Thailand, and never had a problem with Immigration before.
Until last year.
Since last year, getting an extension of my Retirement Visa has become a hell.
And I am not the only one, judging the many posts in other forums.
Thai Immigration has no real written specifications on how to obtain a Visa.
Thai Immigration Officers have the right to ask "additional documents" or deny a Visa without the need to give any explanation.
Add to this the corruption which has increased with this government, and you have everything you need to know why so many people have troubles with Immigration.
It's time for Thailand to specify the rules to get a Visa and STICK to these rules.
No personal interpretation of the law allowed.

same same, and also the designer clothes ive bought from there.Remember that old song, "you say tomato, I ll say tomarto, potato, potarto,".....well, this is a bit like that. I m more than happy with all my alcohol purchases from the duty free shop on the bridge at Mae Sai. Thats all, over and out !!!!!

last time I renewed my tax,I was informed I had a out standing parking ticket, And the guy was not going to give me tax sticker but I pleaded my innocence. Be interesting next year.
Yes, saw them too. Nothing to be worried about. They are students they been there last two days , where they are sitting they cant even see the lights , my guess is they are counting cars and truck s .
On the other hand, imagine, some "authority" would send you a letter with no picture or any evidence whatsoever, demanding 500B for crossing a red light. I would just bin that. Almost no local even pays the speeding tickets with pictures. Although they mention on the letter one may get into trouble if not paying when renewing the tax next time, there is no such linkage (yet). Thus the continued roadblocks after speed traps.

false information again,Wish you would check your facts before posting only confuses every one,and takes up moderaters time refuting your post, Though they must be use to it by now.Can you not just get a 30 day extension at the immigration. Even closer is Mai Sae which I believe gives out 15 day ones.
