Can you tell me more? Maybe... go out nearby, apply to come back in on 90 day Non O? (Keep monthly $ coming in), but apply for the first threshold I reach- marriage extension, 400,000k?). Think we could get and deposit in a month. Not sure about the technical details.

I asked at immigration too. Response to the above question? “Why don’t you switch to marriage extension now?”
But, ahh, if I dobt have 12 months of deposits, how can...

    ”Yea, right...” and walked away.

Im way out of my comfort zone. My wife will be home from work shortly. This is disaster. New home, etc.

Yes, lf you have 400k you can apply straight away for a Non O based on marriage. No need for 12 months of deposits..... Where on earth did you get that info from?

No need to fill a TM 30 in China, but as tourist (and not staying in a hotel),you have to register at a local police station within 24hrs. I missed it last time and my friend living there got a hectic phone call from his office, that we have to go there NOW. A few police officers knocked at his condo 26hrs after my arrival, but we weren`t there ????

If I would have failed to go there, I would`ve been blacklisted to enter the country the next time. So while it just for tourists, we should be happy they are still far from that stage in Thailand.

China is way more easy compared to here. Yes, if not staying at a hotel you must visit the local BIB within 24hrs but, that's the rule. It's easy to do and only takes 15 minutes. When l lived in China, l saw immigration twice on application, 30 minutes each time. I traveled around a bit and even left the country and came back...... NO reporting necessary!!!!

  3. I'm doing my Multi Entry in Savannakhet next week. The problem is that my return flight gets in to Bkk at 4.30pm, then continue on to Chiangmai. My question is this.

Can l report my TM30 update at Swampy when l arrive, or do l have to do it at Chiangmai lmmigration. If the latter, will l be fined since Monday would be the next business day?

    1. You can get a work permit and work with a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage.

    2. You do not need to have an income to get the non-o visa. Savannakhet does not ask for financial proof.

    3. To apply for a one year extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon marriage at immigration it is 400k baht in the bank or 40k baht income. There is no combination option.

    Thanks Ubonjoe

  5. A little off topic but can anyone tell me if you can still do a 90 day  in/out at Masei on a 12 month ME Non-O (Marriage). I live in CM area so it's the most economical place for me. Secondly do they require proof of funds & how much would be required since each stay is only 90 days. Thirdly how many times can one do this for & do you have to go to different Immigration Points over the year?

  6. It came up the other day but it was not confirmed that that they were wanting the police check.

I think they will accept one for Thailand if you have been here for awhile already, Info for getting one is here. http://www.pcscenter...lice.go.th/eng/

What is the process for confirming that they are implementing the police check ??? The fact is that at Vientiane they are !!! Again this week they turned down a newly arrived teacher from a nearby school........he's pretty stressed right now !!! It happened to many last week that is also correct.

In Japan, a thinking country they give you 90 days in which to obtain a check & don't just kick you back over the border on a tourist visa or whatever.

No disrespect to you but at the moment here in LOS "I think they will accept one from Thailand" won't cut it. The reason is that even if you have been here for a while that certainly does not mean that you are clean in your own country does it. Some are here for that very reason !!!

This is a big problem & deserves more than a quick mention on TV or are the majority of TV members only concerned about retirement or marriage visa issues ???

  7. Sorry to go off topic here but for some reason a new issue has come up !!!

Getting a new Non-B to work as a teacher you must have a "Criminal History Check" or you won't get it !!!

That's all very well but what if you are changing schools & have been here for a while & don't have one???

I am Australian & as far as I know to obtain a check it MUST be done in person at a Police Station in Australia......sorry but for under 30,000 Baht per I'm not doing that !!!

Also on Monday the 6th July at Vientiane ALL applicants for Non-B's to teach in Gov. Schools were refused & told to come back when they did.

So these poor bastards are now possibly working illegally at their new schools until they can or can't get a check !!!

WHY has this not been on TV already ???

  8. It's not the illegals that Australia needs to be worried about it's the thousands of legals, mainly the Chinese that are bloody well buying up everything which is lifting prices to an unachievable level for the majority of Australians. I just came back from Sydney & Nth Qld & OMG Chinese just every where. Not tourists either. It was crazy I mean I traveled on public transport & with no exaggeration I was the only Non Asian (Chinese) travelling. Not just urban areas either, they are buying a hell of a lot of agricultural land too.

Maybe these illegals could be sent as has been muted in the past to areas where the locals WONT work eg. farms that simply can't get Aussies to harvest fruit etc. It sits on the ground rotting. In Nth Queensland my home state many farm processing facilities have mostly NEW migrant workers as the local unemployed wont do it, not even when being paid $19-20 per/hour.

  9. Regarding the part that states that tourist spending shrank.........The hordes of Chinese that are now holidaying DON'T spend money, IMO they are the ultimate cheap charlies. In CM they walk around areas like Nimanhaemin with their 7 bought bottles of water & taking selfies outside the cool cafes but heaven forbid actually going inside to eat. They have bloody money they just don't spend it. At the 4 STAR HOTELarrow-10x10.png that my GF works at Chinese customers brought their own cooking appliances with them from China so they didn't have to eat out.....they drove into Thai in 2 High end BMW's. WOW TAT let's promote to get more of them........Quality tourists that will help the economy NOT blink.png.pagespeed.ce.AQgCnSOpp_axVntua

ah I love the Chinese! Not spending on the fake junk from their own country imported to Thailand. call them what you like, they're not easily conned.Maybe prefer to have the "pissheads" falangs who spend lots on beer and whores? Are those the "quality tourists"?

To those that you are referring to well maybe they are not the quality tourist in your mind but talking economics.........they spend pretty much every baht every month in the local Thai economy, doesn't matter what the sector is. That spending ripples out across the whole. Re. The Chinese are not easily conned. How is buying food at a restaurant being conned whistling.gif

  11. The Pm is planning to get rid of the following beggars, children, immigrants & other non-impaired people but allowing for example the blind to still ask for donations. This may reduce the gangs impact on things but still even the blind will or are being used by the same thugs. Thais actually do care about these people my GF often gives to them & small charities. There was a guy going through the rubbish looking for recyclables & eating OMG what ever he found as well.....my GF went & bought some food & left it on the next bin for him. She did not give directly because he might lose face she said, he was not a beggar but she felt for him......so did I for that matter.

  12. All others should stay home? Why? People

can live here perfectly comfortably on 30K

    a month. OK so I admit I couldn't in a million

years but everyone's different and if someone

can, they ought to give it a shot.

Nothing more ridiculous than people who've

moved to Thailand to make their incomes

stretch further looking down on others as if

    they've suddenly become wealthy.

Agree, yeah your 90,000 baht pension will give you a great life here but back home........ in a room all alone & shopping on food vouchers I suppose.

OP since you live a quiet type of life Thailand will suit you as it certainly has me. Except for still having to work for my keep I am more than happy with life in LOS. I earn 30,000 baht I rent a house, have a car, motorbike, eat out several nights p/wk & have been on 2 domestic holidays just this year Oh & a GF. Being happy isn't about how much cash you have, it's your choice to be happy with what you do have......
