    Strange noise YES then its the waterpump.

    No special noice - Thermostat

    In Thailand you dont need antifreeze (555) but it is VERY reconmanded to put a antirust - waterclean product in the coolwater otherways your tubes and for sure the thermostat stoks due to the rust.

    I think the best thing you can do is to tow the car to the shop. Ask friends, its only 8 km

    Well you do need 'anti-freeze' - it also increases the boiling point of the water

    If your water temp gets so high, then you have other problems with the cooling system that won't be solved by using 'anti-freeze'. However, it does have anti-corrosion capabilities.

    It only takes a day to get a Thai license, with a lot less effort required than driving through Santithem or weaving around Suthep Road.

    In our home countries you would get a heavy fine and disqualification if you did not have the correct driving licence.

    Why is it such a big deal when foreigners come to Thailand that they have to go through a simple procedure to become legal ?

    A few hours out of your life to obey the law........what a massive hardship !

    The procedure to obtain a Thai license is not simple

    if you read thai news, you know bribery both giving/receiving punishable.

    ?what is the problem at the border to make you inadmissible without paying a bribe?

    ?just asking? ?why you would feel the need to bribe??

    So I don't need to show a fat wad of cash.

    20K is hardly a "fat wad". So, unless you don't have that kind of money, I don't see the problem with showing the required amount.

    Me and the Missus were staying in a Hotel I got up to go for a wee wee (Not allowed to say Piss)and there was the Mother of all cockroaches on the floor in front of the Bog . I wont lie the word Terrified wouldn't do it justice , so being as I'm a Gentleman I got the missus up and asked her to get rid of it, which she did, picked it up with a bit of bog roll.So I went in to do my wee wee picked up the roll of Bog roll the missus had put on the deck and there was another one inside AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and out the bathroom accusing the missus of negligence.

    I detest them with a passion
