Sorry, I didn't realise that Prayut was actually at the scene! -
Smokin’ scuffle: Foreigner’s taxi tantrum goes viral in Phuket
sambum replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
The reports on "taxi bad behaviour " seems to have gone full circle as the apparent campaign against farangs seems to be gaining pace. The reports used to be centred on taxi drivers trying to overcharge, dropping people off in the middle of "nowhere" due to a disputed increase in fare, refusing to put the meter on etc etc etc. It is fairly common knowledge that Anutin has got it in for "dirty unwashed foreigners", and now there seems to be a concerted effort to find any misdemeanour by foreigners, and publish it in the media. (I can not recall any recent reports of "bad behaviour" by Thais, but I am sure that it happens.) All a bit bizarre when the Government and TAT are desperate to attract more tourists to LOS! -
Big Joke woes: Warrant issued for money laundering
sambum replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
You mean like the member of the public Red Bull heir, "Boss"? Sorry, no, he was never arrested in the first place, so he couldn't skip bail! Just "got out while the going was good"! -
Big Joke woes: Warrant issued for money laundering
sambum replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Thank you for your advice, and things are a bit clearer now! Pity the headlines and the subject matter of the post sometimes leave you a bit in "limbo" i.e. the headline to this post says quite clearly:- investigators sought an arrest warrant for Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn, Deputy National Police Chief of Thailand, following three previously issued summonses. The post by "Archadian" is very helpful, and fortunately seems more aware of the current situation than some of the media! Interesting times ahead! -

"Sad" and "Confused" - I'm a bit confused myself - has an arrest warrant been issued or not? Also a bit "Sad" that he was allowed to go abroad on holiday when I am sure that he knew the turmoil that was surrounding his situation! Anyway, let's see if he does a "Thaksin" and rides out the storm while out of the country! -
British backpacker murderers make fresh appeal against sentence (video)

"She would not be dead if she had remained faithful and was not off with that man." Not another one! GOAT says she was unfaithful and got a verbal slapping for it. She was not "off with that man"! They left the bar SEPARATELY - Hannah leaving the bar before he did. Another disgusting victim blaming comment! Are you of a particular religious denomination? -

Hang on! "You guys?" I am not accusing anybody of anything - I merely pointed out a comment by the cop in charge at the time, which to me implied that the investigation was not exactly off to an impartial start. And I stand by my original comment which was to say that "EVERYBODY knows who did it" is a ridiculous statement to make! -

The headline:- "Arrest warrant issued for Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn" Last paragraph:- The outcome of this legal request remains to be seen, as the court has not yet announced its decision. (regarding the "request for an arrest warrant") Sooo, - has the arrest warrant been issued or not? I suspect not! Anyway, last I heard was that "Big Joke" was "on a short holiday" in England! Hmmm!!! Somehow I think that he may be there for a while! -

At the time, many people were saying "EVERYBODY" knows who did it! Ridiculous comment. -

"........if she had of been a faithful girlfriend she would still be alive today." You ARE a troll! I had my doubts, but not any more - as another poster has already asked - how do you know she was unfaithful? Should she be unable to talk to another man on holiday because she has a boyfriend "back home"? (And by the way, your comment should read "...........if she had been a faithful girlfriend......" No need for the "of" word - it's even worse than "should of" instead of "should have" or "should've") -

This tragic event was covered in depth at the time, and now all the armchair detectives and keyboard warriors are now back on the case. Personally, I think that there were too many flaws in the case that it should have been thrown out of court, but one thing that I remember from the original investigation was the comment by the main policeman in charge:- "NO THAI COULD HAVE DONE THIS!" Make of that what you will, but the way I read it is that "No Thai will ever get convicted of this crime!" -
Foreigner condemned for driving car on Kamala Beach in Phuket
sambum replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Somebody gave my post above a "Confused" emoticon, but now I am confused! I was replying to a post that was implying that the culprit was a Russian, and he should be deported and shipped off to the Ukraine:- "No doubts , it must be a Russian putinoid:). Deport these scumbags to Russia. - their pseudo tzar Putin is so eager to mobilize them for criminal war in Ukraine!" My post was merely to point out that the culprit was not a Russian, or other type of foreigner, but Thai! -

So will AN be issuing an apology for defaming foreigners? Thought not! -
Foreigner condemned for driving car on Kamala Beach in Phuket

>> #Phuket police arrested a driver who drove down to Kamala beach Mon. He's not a foreigner as many suspect but a 39-yr-old Thai who wanted his 2 kids to see the beach closely & recorded a video for him. Police charged him with careless driving, which may pose danger to others. Plus, the "Thaiger" quote is about a totally different incident! -

PM Blasted For Saying Cannabis Policy Yielded Bad Results

"Personally I don't care for the backpacker hippy pot smokers......" I suppose you would rather have the drunken slobs that stagger about ranting and raving and wanting to have a fight with anyone and everyone? Or the recent "visa free" visitors that seem intent on "bad behaviour" of all kinds - not just violence, but theft and cheating on their bills etc etc etc? I think for the most part, the "backpacker hippy pot smokers" are pretty harmless, and would rather chill out on a beach and enjoy the sunsets, causing trouble for no one - indeed "keeping themselves to themselves, man!" -
Passenger charges soar at six major Thai airports
sambum replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"Could it be an April fools day announcement?" On April 2nd? And "we need more tourists/passengers' equals more revenue/income..." so we start charging them more? That'll bring them flocking in! -
Russian couple’s dine and dash attempt exposed in Phuket restaurant
sambum replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
They had to be told that they were in the wrong?!!!! They had to be told that saying they'd paid their bill and hadn't was wrong?!!! And they even had the gall to say that they didn't think that there would be a camera in that position! :- "The foreigners agreed to pay and apologised for their actions. They said they did not expect there to be a CCTV camera at that angle." And you really think there is a flip side to "this argument"? My interpretatation? "It's a fair cop, guv'nor!" -
Thai Officials Announce "Innovative" Expat Health Measure

"Here we go, here we go, here we go!" was a warning that there is a "Brit Basher"/troll about. "Football's coming home!" Is a natural continuation of the above chant, or an impossible dream - take your pick (sorry, off topic, I'll get my coat!) -

Quite bizarre and once again the "dirty unwashed foreigners" are being singled out for "blame" - especially looking at the top story running side by side with this one! "COVID-19 outbreak at Prachuap prison: 79 confirmed infections" I suppose some "dirty unwashed foreigner" visiting the prison caused the outbreak? But there again, maybe somebody at AN has been taking advantage of the date? Hmmm? "APRIL 1st"! -
Picture of Israeli soldier holding Thai flag causes a stir
sambum replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
But people Thais love making a major commotion out of anything these days. Even made a "drama out of a crisis" when an Eastern lady had to pee in the street because of a lack of toilet facilities in a certain Thai holiday resort! -
