"In a startling development on Koh Tao, authorities have apprehended a 36-year-old English man for clandestinely peddling 'Magic Paper' drugs, a highly dangerous form of narcotics, to unsuspecting tourists. According to reports on March 1st, Deputy Superintendent Thanawat Sukhakata, along with investigative teams from Koh Tao Police Station, successfully captured Andrew John Brett, 36, a British national. Brett stands accused of distributing Category 1 narcotics (Ecstasy and Magic Paper) with the intent to sell, reported Daily News." ".... clandestinely peddling 'Magic Paper' drugs, a highly dangerous form of narcotics, to unsuspecting tourists. I am pretty sure that if he was "clandestinely peddling" the tourists were certainly not "unsuspecting"!!! And "distributing with the intention to sell"? Absolute gobbledegook! And why did it take "5 months of surveillance"? A couple of days would probably have been enough - maybe the RTP in question got to like the place? P.S "Startling development"? Nothing is "startling" on Koh Tao given its recent history!!!

Swiss Man Who ‘Kicked’ Doctor Loses Visa, 2nd Swiss Man Too Could Do So
sambum replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER-cum-Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul praised Phuket authorities for quickly revoking a Swiss man’s visa for allegedly kicking a doctor as she sat on the stairs leading from his villa" Reading between the lines and going by his past record, I think the Swiss is guilty as hell - especially as he has already apologised for it, but typical of Anutin! What happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? Same as blaming the spread of Covid on "dirty unwashed foreigners", he opens his mouth before putting his "brain" into gear! Let's hope that he NEVER gets to be PM as life as a foreigner in Thailand under his rule would be like living as a dog in a restaurant in South Korea!!! -
Illegal migrant labour and sex work challenge Thailand’s tourism

".............acknowledged the persistent problem of foreigners illegally working in the service industry in Pattaya and across Thailand." Yes, it's a pity the Police and Immigration don't approach the problem with the same enthusiasm as they pursue overstayers, or maybe they are getting some financial incentive not to? -

Did I not read (again!) only a few days ago that a senior police official said that there was no evidence of prostitution in Pattaya, which is now a haven for families and sight seeing tourists? -

"......noticed it with mostly older Thais" My (Thai) wife and I pulled up beside the pump at a petrol/gas station a few months ago and while we were waiting for the pump attendant to arrive, a middle aged/elderly Thai lady pulled up on her motor bike in between our car and the pump, and glared at me as if daring me to say something. When the attendant was approaching, she told him how much petrol/gas she needed and once again glared at me again. Now, I'm an even tempered guy and as I'm retired I tend to let people who are in a rush just get on with it - especially when driving! An old pal of mine used to say "I'd rather get there 5 minutes late than not get there at all!" However, in this instance, a person with a shorter fuse may well have caused a fuss, and I can just see the headline now "Elderly farang causes chaos at petrol station" Sometimes there are 2 sides to the story, but as farangs are "Aliens", the local will always get believed in preference to the farang - especially if there are no witnesses. And I am not excusing these latest attacks on women by Swiss men - far from it, but just because one of the parties happens to be a woman doesn't necessarily mean that she is the "hard done by" victim!

As I said in a previous post "Do you know who I am?" He's obviously forgotten that in the eyes of Immigration he is an "Alien"! - EXTERMINATE!!!

I agree - rich farang - big damages! Poor Thai - 500 baht fine and a wai! -
Most of them seem to know enough English to say "Sorry, meter no work!", and prices in hundreds of baht!

So "mind harm" is something that 99.9% of "farangy's" understand - I must be the 0.1% that doesn't! 🙂 -

"Mind harm"???? Can't find anything on Google about "mind harm" - "self harm" - yes! Is that a Thai way of saying "psychological damage"?
