  1. I never fell out of love with thai women, there are good and bad examples wherever you go............ but I would never marry a thai woman again, the odds are overwhelmingly in their favour, wherever they may go
  2. There is always a reason, it doesnt have to be a good one as long as they can buy some time and save some face. This happens much more than people realise but is often swept under the carpet when financial terms are agreed
  3. When i realised her dishonesty, deceit and her deceptions. When confronted for the umpteenth time she did a runner and tried to blackmail me for my work permit and marriage visa. Her family made no effort to reach out to me or help reconcile the differences because they had instigated and participated in the fraud. I distinctly remember feeling morally underhanded when I installed the hidden surveillance cameras around the home but if it wasnt for the fact that I now have video evidence of all her wrong doings I would have lost everything. As it stands, I retain control of my home but Im unable to sell it and my personal bank account remains my own. I have managed to get back on my feet again but it took 2 years. Think long and hard about your reasons for marrying. I thought that my pleasant lady who was a temple devotee was a good girl and everyone we met thought the same but she was a true narcissist and fooled us all with her plaintive ways. If I had my time again I would never marry a thai girl, they are never quite what they seem. JAF
  4. I think thats a little harsh. The mother was thumped several times in her back, you could hear the thuds. Poor girl was probably winded and needed to lie down to straighten out her muscles.
  5. You know you are pished as a scotsman when you cannot spell "alcohol" ????
  6. My wife saves the money for a better future for our family. If the girls who plied this trade do the same thing for their families then there is a modicom of respect due but self respect is something that money cannot buy. If the prostitutes are willing to take the shilling of dirty old men then good for them...... but they will find the respect of others very hard to come by because we all know the efforts we must put into our own honest lives to be successful.
  7. Please stop making the assumption that the vast majority of women and men who participate in this sordid business did so without free will. They sold their soul for fools gold and now you ask what worthier investment they should have taken instead.....the simple truth is this, is there an easier way to make money because at the end of the day, that is what they want and they do not have enough self respect to seek better lives for themselves, they are looking for the easier option in life.
  8. I never had parents and spent my life in council care in Liverpool but I never became something Im ashamed of......so you can rearrange that assumption to suit yourself. Feel free to assume that all people from Liverpool are lesser than yourself if you wish but I know that morally I have lived a good life and it was not due to the help of others. Maybe I am just a better man than most of the miscreants that populate Pattaya. I might add that I also speak Thai fluently and have lived an honourable life here for 20 years. Its just one more thing that I have taught myself without making excuses as to why I didnt better myself
  9. Snowed in...... its been a bit chilly of late but who needs good reasons to waste time having fun. Im killing time waiting for my delivery and then I will be snowed under with games I want to play 55555
  10. Do gooders do good for their family, friends and society as a whole. What purpose does prostitution serve? You should reserve your disgust for the players who objectify and sexualize women and pray that your children never have to accept anything less in their own lives.
  11. Why should anyone be beholding to the grotty image and sordid nightlife that Pattaya offers to those who prefer to buy the girl and enslave her to their will. Its shameful behaviour thats only accepted because its an agreement between lo so strangers looking for easy cash and cheap thrills. Would you advocate for it if it was your daughter, sister or mother? I hope their halo hasnt slipped ????
  12. The flight sim does look truly amazing but for me its Red Dead Redemption 2 and Halo that I want to play. Of course Forza and Dirt 5 are on the list so if you find yourself wanting to sell the racing setup please do let me know as I will use it for my students to enjoy JAF
  13. Buying it was easy, straight from Lazada for 11,500 and I bought my gamepass from there as well for 2000 baht per 12 month plus one free month which is amazingly cheap. Will be a bit gutted not to be able to play on other devices though but still, great value
  14. Just bought a Japanese Xbox Series S with a Microsoft Game Pass Ultimate which allows for cloud gaming and of course lots of "free" games to download and play. But someone just told me that the cloud gaming feature that allows you to play any Xbox game on any device doesnt work well in Thailand. Does anyone have any infor regarding this ? JAF
  15. Thailand always looks to be offended but overlooks the same offences when it comes to plastering the union jack onto shoes, underwear and whatever else takes their fancy...... its a flag <deleted>
  16. I think God got over Thailand many years ago, it was an acrimonious breakup but his buddy Buddha said he would look after things whilst he was away...... heaven help us all
  17. I was working from 4pm to 9pm and they came snooping around 7pm to 9pm. I wasnt in full view either. I have a work permit now thanks to the kindness of posters on this forum who helped me overcome the myriad of rules and regulations that I had to fulfill to achieve it. Good luck to those who dont, keep your head down and your mouth shut.
  18. You are right but pay heed to the fact that Immigration move quietly in the shadows. If they have their suspicions they will investigate and then conduct a raid as its beneficial to their career, bonuses and promotions for catching the bad farang.
  19. Im talking from a personal point of view and this is indeed what happened to me. I had been working for many many years under the radar and even taught children from the immigration department. One day a neighbour who is a hairdresser came to speak to my wife and said that the immigration team had been asking questions about me and that other neighbours had observed them driving past my home during lesson times tsking photos and videos. I immediately shuttered the business and had to turn to this forum for help and assistance in getting myself registered as a company and obtaining a work permit as an advisor for students wishing to pursue studies abroad. It was an incredibly stressful time and to this day I cannot be certain who it was that made any complaint. My wife thinks it was the parent who worked at Immigration. If you wish to know more about this you are welcome to ask
  20. Deported for working illegally. A work permit is issued in the employers name and only allows you to work within those premises. You are not allowed to teach freelance in Thailand and risk arrest, a few weeks in Bangkok detention centre and then you will be deported and blacklisted for 10 years
  21. That may well be true for you but when it comes to teaching, the premises are shown as well as the employer so my point still stands. The last thing a private teacher wants is a disgruntled thai teacher using their influence to remove the competition around them...... They dont play fair in Thailand
  22. I wasnt trying to assist you, I was trying to help the original poster from assuming that your comment would be applicable to his situation. Your work permit does not allow you to work from anywhere on a freelance basis.
  23. Yes I did read your post which did not say what your work permit was for but irregardless, I was trying to help the original poster with pertinent information as I found myself in the same situation and had to turn to this forum for assistance in setting up a company through marriage which allowed me to teach at the premises only. You are not allowed to work freelance as a teacher, there is no work permit to do so.
