They work hard, and are willing teachers, but I never hired one as it was against the private school's policy.
And I agree with another teacher who also read another post where a non-native teacher wrote that "it is ok for non-natives to teach English". But you read that post and see how many spelling and grammitical mistakes he made, while claiming that it's ok for them to teach English. Maybe one day a native English teacher will head an English department and run it in a way that actually helps students.
If you want to know how educated and deserving a native applicant really is, ask him/her to write a 100 word paragraph on any topic of their choice on the spot. From their composition skills you will know if they are deserving to teach. Check for everything, like spelling, syntax, etc.
Well after checking your composition I am afraid you have failed on spelling and incorrect syntax too. I can see 3 mistakes ;-) (improper usage of the comma with "and" in a short sentence, grammatical not grammitical and incorrect tense of the word "while"). But aside from nitpicking your post (which is merely in jest as this is not a test) I think that one of the real causes of concern in the teaching in Thai schools is the attitude that students are merely cows which must be milked for all they are worth before moving on to pastures new.
I have been teaching here for 15 years and it astounds me that when a parent realises that their child is falling behind in a subject and approaches the teacher, they will often be told that they need to attend after school classes to catch up. Of course these classes come at a "small" price and merely allow the teacher to give the student the answers to their homework. When it's time to test, the same teacher will once again tell the students the answers to ensure they are capable of passing. The students then move onto the new pasture with the inability to do any analytical thinking by themselves and will resort to copying............. or paying another teacher/farmer to help them with the answer sheet.
It must also be said that it is not always the teachers fault. I have tried on many occasions to tell a student why they have made a mistake and what they should do to rectify it. Often it will lead to an understanding of their mistakes and an improvement in their work but alas, this is also where their precious sensitivities can take over. The notion of "saving face" and not looking stupid in front of others is a real barrier that can sometimes be nigh on impossible to overcome. With boys they will become sullen and disruptive. With girls they will become emotional and accuse you of bullying them. Compound this with parents who have the "mai bpen rai" attitude and the notion that they just want their kids to "enjoy" and pass the test and we begin to see the many deficient facets of Thai society today.
Hope my 100+ word composition passes muster. If it doesn't I will sulk in the corner and tell everyone you are picking on me !!!

Yes I did see this drive, which is cheaper from InvadeIT but seeing as games on the PS4 are getting bigger and the fact that I am a PSN member I think that 1tb is not suitable for my growing library of games. So now I am looking for a 2tb drive and this is where I am encountering the problem. They do not have any bare 2tb drives but there is an abundance of external 2.5 sata 3 drives available which are actually cheaper such as this one:-
http://www.lazada.co.th/seagate-hd-ext-25-2tb-new-backup-plus-stdr2000302-blue-213251.html
I have read that inside some models there is a Seagate Samsung Momentus Spinpoint drive and that all you have to do is pry open the case and remove the usb 3 connector. But all the drives that I know do contain this drive and removable connector are not available in Thailand. These are the models that I know will work:-
Seagate Expansion STBX2000401 2TB 2.5-Inch USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive
Seagate Backup Plus 2 TB Portable Hard Drive STDR2000101
There is also a Seagate "301" series which is suitable but all I can find is the "302" series and I am not sure if this will be compatible
Thanks for your advice

I checked with JIB but they had nothing much to offer. Also checked with Invade IT and they had 2 drives but one of them was a SSD which was over 4,500 bht for 1TB.
But I have been researching this and it appears that some external Seagate drives contain a Seagate Momentus Spinpoint drive inside and this is ideal. But now I need to know which of the drives available in Thailand contain this drive
I am getting close but still no cigar

Hi guys
After 15 years of being in Thailand and married for 10+years to the same lady, I have decided that the time has come to cut my losses and get an uncontested divorce.
I have decided on this because I am tired of being lied to, cheated on and deceived. My problem is that everything that we own is in my wifes name including 2 pieces of land, the pickup and 2 motorbikes.
Last year I completed building our home. We had agreed that seeing as the land and everything else was in her name that the house would be in my name but when I asked to see the book for the house I saw that it was in her name and I was not even listed as living there.
The only thing that I have in my name is my bank account which has around 1.5 million bht in it which I have earned from teaching. Everything that we have purchased has been from my hard work as she had no savings and has not paid for anything over the years.
So how do I go about getting an uncontested divorce that is favourable to me. Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

I know I need a drive that is 9.5" high and there lies the problem I am encountering. There are so many external 2.5 inch drives available on Lazada and the prices are good but knowing the size of the drive inside the casing is proving to be a stumbling block. Thats why I am asking on this forum to see if any members with a ps4 have bought and successfully installed a drive. 1tb to 2 tb will be fine for me.

Still looking for a 1tb or 2 tb drive that will work in my ps4. Has anyone replaced their drive and can they recommend a model number that works

I have a new lawn too and bought a Euroe eat 5 to cut the grass which is seemed to do well. But I have noticed that the grass is not growing back so well and in hindsight saw that the blade underneath the mover is not sharp at all. My question is does this blade need to be sharpened?

I still occasionally play it and love the thrill of it all but when it comes to online racing I am nearly always last to finish. I guess I am just a boy racer and on the track there are others who are the real deal Great game though and at 20 quid a real bargain. If you start up a club let me know and I will join

No need for thai apologists to insinuate that it must have been the fault of the tourists.. No matter what thai people do they not only absolve themselves of any guilt but eagerly point the finger at those they have wronged.

I am having a little trouble locating this Seagate 2 tb drive model number STBX2000401. I have seen similar specced drives but with different model numbers and I have read that some of these other drives do not work with the PS4.
Has anyone seen one of these on their internet travels in Thailand

Why would you buy a external drive and then dismantle it, rather than just buy an internal drive in the first place?
Take out the 500 gb drive from the ps4, replace it with the 2gb drive and then put the old 500 gb drive back into the casing to use as an external drive on my pc

Cheers MoD
I overlooked that so thanks for the heads up. I checked out Invade IT and as much as I appreciate their customer service, Lazadas prices are hard to beat. Today they have a 10 per cent off offer which makes the 2tb drive shown here ( http://www.lazada.co...303-181343.html ) to be approx 3500 bht. Think I will order this and let you know how I go on.

Judging by what this guy says it can take upto 6TB drives albeit externally. I want to keep the drive within the ps4 case so the 2tb drive on Lazada is ideal and a perfect match. But for a small price increase, the 3TB dive would be great, just need to find out if I can fit it in internally.

Did you take a look at the drives available on Lazada. I want to know if the 3tb drive would work as it is just a little more expensive but better value for money I think.

I think the PS4 only supports game saves with a USB hard drive . U need to swap it over with the 500gb inside the Ps4 . take a look at this first http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-how-to-cheaply-upgrade-your-ps4-to-2tb
Thanks Daniel that makes interesting reading. I had a look on Lazada and seen this drive :-
http://www.lazada.co.th/seagate-new-backup-plus-slim-2tb-usb-30-red-stdr2000303-181343.html
Seems to have a similar id number and its fairly priced so iof this is the drive I will buy it and install it in my PS4
Also seen this 3tb drive for a little more money

HI Jim
That is a very very cool setup. I would love to have a setup like that for Drive Club on the PS4 but I dont think Lazada have a steering wheel for the PS4 yet. If they do I will have to pick one up and then pick your brains for the details on how to set it up for myself.

PS I have joined your group on Facebook, look forward to getting to know you and the guys online

hi guys
I have a ps 4 system and have managed to fill up the 500gb hard drive with games already. Seen that they are selling a Sony WD Elements 1tb external hardisk on Lazada for 2,900 bht. My question is can I plug this into my ps4 as an external drive and run games from it or would I need to disassemble it and fit it inside.
Many thanks

I have Thai PS4 and a fake USA address and no usa cc.
I bought psn money from amazon with my homecountry c.c and usa address (myus / shipito etc) and it works.
Games are cheaper, membership is cheaper (PSN HK is cheaper actually).
You can download all games in Thailand no problem.
Great thanks- any game recommendations- i buying it FIFA 15, new call of duty, aliens,
I have a physical copy of fifa 15 for the ps4 that I want to sell. Only played it once so it is in as good as new condition. Retail price is 1,500 bht but I will sell it for 900 bht. PM me if you are interested

But were you aware of the fact that the controller was a copy before purchasing it ?
No I was not aware that it was a clone. Came in a microsoft box with spanish writing on it but on closer inspection the microsoft seals where missing. I only realised this later.

Yes there is an xbox clone controller. I bought one from Fasttech.com and one of the shoulder buttons became faulty. I contacted them for a replacement but was told it was outside the replacement period of 3 months and they then discouraged me from returning it for repair by insisting I pay for shipment to and from Hong Kong. Needless to say I now avoid Fasttech because of their shabby customer services.

I bought the Seagate New Backup Plus Slim 2TB USB 3.0 - (STDR200302 ) from Lazada for 3,500 bht. I will let everyone know if this is a suitable drive to install into the PS4 or an expensive mistake.
Thanks for all the advice
