Alpine has a new unit coming. So does Parott (??). Alpine is apple only. Parrrot or whatever supports others too. Haven't looked deeply into it, just keeping a vague eye on developments. I use an ipad mini AUX'ed into original stereo unit, dashboard mounted. Great set up, if amateurish. I gather CarPlay will not have full functionality of an ipad for safety reasons, but the functions it does have should be more driver friendly??

IMHO, I'm just looking at a "WD My Book". Gets good reviews. If I plug that into the router, I'd have the cloud functionality too right?

Did you get it sorted?? I entered the smtp data and it worked for a while, now its playing up again.

Please point me to the BBC News stream. (one that is not just the latest 5, 10 or 15 minute news bulletin on repeat). Am looking for the same news stream that comes from the 'live radio' button in the BBC app.

It'll auto sync when your back online.

You can allocate read-write options to different users. And there is a back-up option - ie restore from backup versions if some wayward staff member makes a boo boo.

And there are services to link one service with another eg IFTTT.

I looked at crashplan years ago for personal back-up, but upload speeds here too slow.

Tune in doesn't seem to stream per se, just replays programs?

BBC app has been terrible for the last month. Programs sometimes load, sometimes don't. Streaming radio same. Same issue on 2 devices. Have tried re-booting, re-installing etc etc.

Other options?

Dropbox - Will solve all your problems.
