  2. From Candy Afterdark:

    About the current cannabis situation:
        1.    You can still buy our products — our products are made from cannabis leaf.
        2.    If you want a patient card, search thai traditional clinic or “ขอใบผู้ป่วยกัญชา” or “คลินิกแพทย์แผนไทย,” or message us — we’re happy to help.

We know this situation feels unfair and strange, but it looks temporary.
Thank you for being with us — we’ll get through this together.

Vietnam has visas still for Indian visitors which ensures only quality indian visitors.

The proliferation of open soliciation by indian visitors has destroyed Pattaya.

This is a significant advantage for Vietnam, IMO and especially for those weighing TH vs. VN for long term stays.  Nice little bit of insight there.

I lived in Pattaya previously for over a year about one year ago. I was planning to move back to Pattaya, into the Central or Jomtein area.

However, I just saw a bunch of Youtube video's saying Pattaya getting real bad with people from India taking over, sleeping on the beach, using beach as a public toilet, etc, but I'm not sure if it's really that bad or if the video's are just focusing on negatives for attention. I don't like males from India much, but i do like the food.

How different is it from a year ago?

The level of Indian annoyance is not so different from a year ago.  They still don’t know how to walk in a civilized fashion, that hasn’t changed - but the annoyances are generally avoidable with only minor inconveniences.  My context is central Pattaya, have no idea about Jomtien.

    Hi all,

Jomtien immigration, retirement extension, 1y (inc multi entry) *without* 800k in the bank (3 month application before the yearly renewal date with popular visa agent in Soi Post Office, Pattaya).

    Price: 16500 + 3000 = 19500THB.

The extra 3000 fee is needed for the Bangkok Bank paperwork. This changed from last year because nowadays the Pattaya branch can not provide it anymore and the paperwork has to go to Bangkok Bank in BKK and they ask for the extra fee.

Warning: turn around time now 3 weeks to get your passport back although you can get it back in +- 1.5-2 weeks if you fancy a day trip to BKK!

Also you have to do a short trip to Jomtien immigration to get your picture taken.

    Things needed:

    Valid passport, watch expiry date.
Updated bankbook: deposit and withdraw some money on application day and update your book afterwards.
Bangkok Bank account/app needs to be updated by Bangkok Bank and daily transfer limit upgraded to 1m THB. You need a document from your mobile provider for this. (For True go to the Pattaya Tai branch near Tukcom instead of the busy Central Festival branch.)
    Photo's (I think 2)

Not sure about these documents but I had them with me:

    TM30
    Copy of Rental contract
    Copy of house book
    Copy of ID card houselord

    Hope this info was useful.

Does the price include a reentry permit or cheap/throwaway health insurance?

Its irrelevant how long its takes, From reading your comments it sounds like you don't have a clue about electrics but are quibblibg over £15 for an electrician to change the lights, why don't you do it your self, you will need

    1 x steps 1000b

    1 x tester  100-300bt

    1 x electrial screw driver .100-300bt

1 x pad saw incase different size, 100bt

    Well over 800b

Just changed one without any of those things, which IMO illustrates how absurd a 200b install fee is.

You are right about one thing, I did not have a clue about electrics…other than knowing 200b is a joke.

When it comes to weed, you get exactly what you pay for.

in this instance, you have no idea what you are talking about.  You’ve never tried this vendor’s product, have you?  I have, regularly, and it is nothing as you presume and post above.

“When it comes to weed, you get exactly what you pay for.“

Wrong, again.  Have you not seen the massively overpriced trash in most shops in BKK, Pattaya, Phuket?

I think a lot of ex-pats come here and they start counting in Thai baht. I find it helpful sometimes to count in dollars, if the condo was charging me $6 to replace a light bulb, I would consider that a bargain. Especially considering the fact that more than half of that cost is the bulb itself.

200b install only.  Bulbs purchases separately by the tenant, think I paid 159b.
