  2. I suspect you're applying for a change of Immigration status to Non Immigrant from a VE or TV entry at your local Immigration office. Ideally, you should have applied for the Non O for yourself and wife (dependant) in Australia, before entering Thailand. You could have then applied for the 1-year extension with your dependant spouse piggybacking it. Your spouse could follow your pathway to obtain the 1-year extension, but would need to meet the same financial requirements as yourself, provided she is over 50. Did you register your marriage in Australia with the Philippine authorities. I think you may have problems obtain the Non O for her in the Philippines separately. Usually, a dependant applies together and at the same time as the independent person.
  3. Provided you have a bank statement from the old account, which will overlap the start date of the new account, I don't forsee an issue. You'll only require a letter from your existing bank at the time of extension renewal. Personally, I'd have just opened a new account and then completed a bank transfer from old to new.
  4. Thanks. There was a recent topic on changing to Non B, which in years gone by seemed possible. However, it now appears Immigration are reluctant to change a Non O > Non B and will inform you to obtain it from a local Thai Embassy. Be interested to know if the One Stop service centre can still change and issue a different visa type.   5. Why the Non B? If you have an extension based on Thai spouse/family, you're entitled to work on a Non Imm O, just require the work permit.

  10. That's what, 3/4 VE entries + 30 day extensions per year. What the OP suggests with his work rota would amount to 12/13 VE entries per annum, and I agree he'd run into problems with Immigration. Apart from the options and advice already given, it would assist if we knew the OP's age, as that could provide other options.
  11. No, I never stated any such thing. It's clear, from section 4 of the Act, who is classed as responsible to file a TM30. I stated the only amendment to section 38 came in 2020 with the new TM30 regulations, which has nothing to do with the persons responsible to file, rather than when to file.
  12. That is what you obviously named the document you downloaded. It is simply the Thai Immigration Act (1979) which you can Google to download from a number of sources in both English and Thai. Unfortunately most are downloaded as a pdf format, which apparently you can no longer post on AN, even though their own page on Laws, regulations, Police orders https://aseannow.com/topic/981135-laws-regulations-police-orders-etc/ are in pdf format. Items 22 and 23 on the above link. The only amendment to section 38 of the Immigration Act was the new TM30 regulations in relation to situations where a TM30 need not be filed. It does not alter the persons(s) responsible to file a TM30. New TM30 regulations listed item 30 from the above link.

  15. Firstly, please understand your Non Imm O expired a long time ago, but your Immigration status is Non Immigrant. Visas cannot be extended, each year you are extending your permit of stay by 365 days from the original 90 days granted from the Non Imm O visa. Based on retirement, your extension renewal date can only be changed by leaving the Country without a re-entry permit, which cancels any permission of stay already granted. Then start from scratch again. IMO the easiest option is to renew your extension in early May, then leave without a re-entry permit when you later travel back to your home Country. Apply for the Non Imm O from your local Thai Embassy to re-enter Thailand, then continue with the 1-year extensions of stay. Example, you leave Thailand for a visit home July time for 3 weeks, re-entering with a new Non Imm O in August, on entry you'll be granted permission of stay until November. November will now be the month you annually apply for the 1-year extensions of stay.

  24. No. You'd have to be present at an Amphoe to register in a Tabien Baan and obtain the first ID card. Overseas registration of birth at a Thai Embassy to obtain a Thai birth certificate and Thai passport. Thereafter, you can renew both ID cards and passports either in Thailand or from a Thai Embassy overseas.
