  1. Airport taxi to Doi Saket should be a fixed price of around 400/450 baht. Cheaper alternative would be InDrive.
  2. Airport Taxis from CNX don't use the meter, they run on fixed prices.

    Bread

Nana bakery as others have said - multiple locations but long term, have you considered making it yourself? Bread makers are not expensive and easy to use - guaranteed you won't have issues if you bake it yourself.
  4. Now go back in time to 2019 and see what it was like. It hasn't fully recovered yet from COVID. It used to be a lot worse. You're right though - the car park has helped.
  5. The harder challenge would be traveling further than 1km in Chiang Mai and not finding a wet market - they're everywhere, including in the outer metro area.
  6. No problems at the Mae Sai border - it has been closed since July.
  7. It's not the governor of Chiang Mai - its Pichai Lertpongadisorn, President of Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization and Chairman of Chiang Mai United FC.
  8. There is bad journalism and then there is this - that's not the Governor of Chiang Mai, that's the head of of the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization and it actually says that in the Thairath article that is linked in the story.
  9. Ordinary prisoners get helicopter rides to hospital - uh huh.
  10. Aside from the novelty of the Koi, there's nothing exciting about the place or the food. Much better places for a feed.
  11. The 45 days was a temporary measure to boost tourism. On the cards for the future, though, are 90 visa exempt entries - when is unknown but it's a policy proposal from the new PM. Could be early next year or it may never happen.
  12. Clickbait rubbish - two cases of monkeypox, both imported. The dengue part is serious, though.
  13. The digging around the moat is part of a program to put all the power and communications lines underground. It started a few months ago.
  14. Depending on the Immigration office, you can't do anything without one on file. It has been law since 1979 and enforced since about 2016 at some offices - Chiang Mai in particular.
  15. A legitimate ED visa requires in-class teaching - minimum of eight hours a week. Any school offering online learning is breaking the law. Sign up to school in CM and turn up to classes if you don't want to put yourself at risk of getting into trouble. And Immigration has been strict on EDs recently due to the Chinese gangs using them.
  16. How do you only have a regular power bill of 60 baht month? Does she have a fridge maybe and nothing else?
  17. I'm sure Pheu Thai forming government with Prawit will bring much joy to Red Shirts as well.
  18. Send her this link - it's Chiang Mai Immigration arresting and fining 16 Thais for not filing TM30s last week. If she still doesn't get the hint, report her to Immigration or move. https://www.facebook.com/immchiangmai/posts/pfbid0cH8eCi6545bTzdA2SZGeMNdyLZZgfFCsFUqXTi8HH9Ypt3BXbgLtFgPXnQxTJrfol
  19. You're yet to say what it is you are applying for. Extension based on marriage or retirement? some other sort of visa?? This isn't rocket science - all you have to do is explain your situation - I have X visa and I'm trying to get Y done at Z office.
  20. When did CM change? I've got the same TM30 in the back of my passport I filed in 2019 and have the left the country multiple times (let alone domestic travel) and have confirmed with them - in person, that I don't need to file a new one. Of note, that's with re-entry permits on two year extensions of stays - if you change visa status, that's different.
  21. This. It's not unheard of for Immigration and police to come onto a bus and check passports.
  22. And that's the part some forget - it's some years, not every year. This year may have been bad, but everyone seems to have forgotten that it barely happened at all last year.
  23. Had the better half apply for one last year at the convention center. Took about an hour and the passport surprisingly turned up three days later via registered mail.
  24. PWA supply in San Sai - we've also got a pump and water tank, the supply magically goes off 2-3 times a month and other times it's weak. The pump helps with the water pressure as we can tap into the tank + the tank when it just stops for no reason. It has gotten significantly worse this year.
  25. Meals-on-wheels is overly expensive for delivery if you don't live in the city. Grab is your best bet Reliable and affordable delivery service.
