  1. I meant my (main) firewall.... if the ports are blocked by CAT, TT&T and or Hi-net

then only they can open them (from thier firewall)

Now here is something strange, depending on the online port scanner I use

my ip address today is 61.19.211.250 or 202.47.247.146 both are Communication Authority of Thailand, CAT whereas according to my firewall

it should be 202.129.56.186 it's enough to make anyone confused.

If any moderators are reading what was the ip address recorded by this web site when I posted this ???

    Shin Corp's upcoming DSL service

Do you really want to give that megalomaniac more money :o

  2. I'm using Hi-net too the only filesharing I have tried so far is Bitorrent

it didn't work very well at all !! having said that I didn't try to get it working by opening ports and forwading them to my machine from the main firewall.

    Also I notice

Networks with any form of NATed connection !!!

Have a look at the ip address that Hi-net gives you you will see that it is in the "private " range of Ip's

for example they have given me 172.16.11.*** today, I should not be able to use the internet from that address as it will not be routed , but I can because Hi-net has NATed 172.16.11.*** ---> 202.129.56.***

However I feel that the problem is more likely that they (Hi-Net) are blocking the ports that should be open.

I have a question for people using Hi-net can you ping anywhere without getting

    Destination net unreachable ?

Pinging www.google.akadns.net [216.239.41.99] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 202.129.56.186: Destination net unreachable.

    Tracert doesn't work either

    Tracing route to www.google.akadns.net [64.233.167.104]

over a maximum of 30 hops:

    1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms lan [192.168.1.1]

2 202.129.56.186 reports: Destination net unreachable.

    Trace complete.

    Maybe it's just me.

  3. While I am not a very knowledgeble person or a lawyer :o

I don't think you will have any trouble getting a Thai passport as you are still Thai

or buying land as again you are still Thai you don't stop being Thai untill you activly seek/apply to renounce your citizenship, so I would say you will be fine.

    Remember I am not a lawyer. :D

There was a thread about this, here on the Thaivisa site not long ago.

    have look here.

    Good luck.

  4. Wasting money for me would be something like this.

Going out partying, disco, karaoke instead of going to work, knowing full well that the rent needs to be paid in two days time (even if it's only 3000 baht a month ) then complaining and running around to friends trying to borrow the money for the rent that was spent partying, disco, karaoke.

I suppose some would say it's not wasted money as the time spent partying, disco, karaoke etc was fun.

The key point is I have 3000 baht in my pocket that is all I have left this month. should I spend it on one nights intertainment or on keeping a roof over my head for the next month.

  5. These are the stupid ones. There are quite a few smart ones who save a lot of money, start businesses and go on to be quite sucessful. Don't kid yourself.
I am not kidding myself :o I know they aren't all stupid and even the "stupid" ones are cunning and resourceful, they just can't think beyond the next meal.
wasting money on drinking and gambling is not unique to some Thai Bargirls is it?

Does sound like a trick question to me :D however I would agree that wasting money is not unique to Thai bargirls,we have all wasted money at some time or other.

I have a TT&T line and use have been using the Hi-Net service for more than a month now it's quite reliable.

There where a few outages at first but it seems to have settled down now , the speed is unpredictable normally about 500 Kbps

(not the 2000 Kbps they advertise) I think the highest I have had so far is about 1300 Kbps anyway compared to dailup its like I died and went to heaven. :o

  7. I had my bicycle stolen too, from the Wat Chaimonkon market in Pattaya

lucky it was only 799 baht from Big C. but is still peed me off.

I've got a bike, you can ride it if you like,

It's got a basket, a bell, and things to make it look good,

I'd give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it.

    :o

Plachon: Was it Pink Floyd or Blind Faith who sung that song ? I can't remember.

My girlfriend, is applying for visa in a few days, Tourist visa.

She has no regular income (apart from me) as i told her to pack her job in (shop) and go home

Why did you tell her to stop working ???????????????? that's what I asked you three months ago :o
a : craft a situation that gives off the "impression" you have reason to return

I hear there are companys that will write a letter of "employment" for a small fee :D

that would give her more of a reason (in the embassy's eyes) to return to Thailand.

Enroll as a student sounds like a good idea too.
